View Full Version : What to do with old POTF?

I was going through my basement and found myself looking at a bunch of old carded POTF and SOTE figures. I don't collect the Hasbro stuff anymore and the 90's figures don't seems to command much of a price on ebay. If I thought I could get enough money to help offset the price of a new HT or Sideshow I'd put some energy into selling them. The only one that might be worth something by itself is a theater exclusive Jedi Luke from opening day of ROTJ:Special Edition. The rest (about 20) I'd probably sell as a lot. What's a realistic price?

Otherwise I'm going to take them off the cards and let my kids have them.

Give em to your kids.

i donated a collection of about 100 of the carded figures to Toys for Tots a few years ago.

I have no clue what they'd sell for. Maybe $1 each?

Between selling them for pennies on the dollar to pay for your own toy habit vs giving them to your kids? I would hope you know what you should do.

I'm in the same boat. I have a bunch of the POTF carded figures that I really don't want anymore (just taking up valuable space) and can't be given away on ebay.

And no kids to give them to.

My kids are young enough that the only Star Wars figures they like are the Playschool minis. Don't worry, my kids are not exactly deprived as toys go.

I like the Toys for Tots idea.

I popped star wars in the DVD player in their room and gave them all of my hasbro SW figs tonight, which was about 150 or so. Including all the carded ones which have now been liberated from their bubble cards. For a couple of seven year old girls they still geeked out. My kids rock.

Now that's the way to do it! And who knows...You may have just turned them onto collecting.

Yeah, probably best to donate them somewhere. Either Toys for Tots or to a thrift store. I mentioned this in another thread, but when you make charitable donations you can typically list the retail valule which means you could get a deduction at the end of the year.

But, trying to sell them is usually pointless... their value (even MOC) is generally less than the cost of shipping.

I think he already decided what to do. You must have missed this post:

So over the last few days my seven year old girls watched IV, V, and VI for the first time. They loved they first two, and about half way through Jedi they gathered all of the girl action figures and played wedding. :peace

Don't let anyone ever tell you that little girls aren't different than little boys. :lol

And yes, they liked the ewoks best.

Donate it. I donated most of my Prequels Hasbro action figures to SW fans in my country.
