Am I missing something- are there any edition numbers on the 12" Luke?

Please tell me we are not worried about what number Luke we got. :google

When has Sideshow ever numbered their 12"ers?

Does someone have this topic on a loop or what? NO!!! NO!!! NO!!!

No stupid friggin meaningless numbers on the $%@*# toy!

Don't care to get into the debate of numbered pieces or whatnot...
BUT just to clarify:

1) It's a $50 piece.
(who determies what a "toy" is or how much 1 costs?)

2) It says right on the box that it's not suitable for children under 14.
(so I guess it's NOT a toy!)

3) The box reads "Collectors Model" & was shipped out by "Sideshow COLLECTIBLES."

4) What does it matter if sideshow never numbered figures before.
They could up the collectible world of Star Wars by doing so now.

I really don't care if they number these or not, but I always wonder how 1
would keep track of co's edition sizes. Do we just trust every co from now
on at their word? Might not be a bad idea for us consumers to request now
& again (Not that I don't trust sideshow, but for our own sakes, maybe this
would be a good thing for every collectible co to implement)

& if you don't have anything productive to add, why even post on this
thread? Are you just trying to raise your post counts? (just curious)

I'm a little embarassed by my post count, actually.

Numebering has never ever added to the actual collectibility of any "collectible." Just because a company calls something a "collectible", doesn't mean that it is.

However, SSC's product is collectible. And they are collectibles. And no numbering is going to improve the collectibility. The reason they are collectible is because of the quality. So there.

There are some $50 busts, $40 weapon sets, and $25 helms from the Sideshow/Weta line that were individually numbered. So it's not as easy as saying that something that costs fifty bucks doesn't need a number.

However, the 12" figures are mostly made out of the stock bodies that exist in limitless numbers, with the only unique part being a head that is removable. Any 12" figure that had a number (and where would you number it, anyway, on the stock body or the unique head, or the box that could easily be swapped out for another one?) could be taken apart and redressed or modified so easily that a number doesn't seem to be a practical idea. Any collectible that can so easily be modified from its original condition--and these were even designed to be modified--doesn't need a number in my opinion.

Yeah, who really cares. If you have bought from SS before you know they don't number their 12" figures.

I do feel really bad for the scalpers who saw that the LOTR items with low edition numbers can sell for more on eBay, and snatched up the Star Wars figures in hopes that they would receive a low number and some big money, only to find that the 12" figures aren't numbered after all. Such a shame... :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2 :monkey2

ummmmm...
tomandshell, don't mean to disrespect you but there's NO WAY that low
edition numbers could fetch for more on ebay!!! NO WAY!

At least that's what I just learned from 1 of customikeys many thought
provoking posts above:
