Hey Guys,
Some of you guys know me from other forums and maybe from some conventions that I have been "working" during the last 4 years (Any Celebration, SDCC 04/05, Wizard World, Gen Con, Disney Star Wars weekends). I am from Caracas, Venezuela but I have been living in Chicago for about 6 years now. I am a big Baseball fan, I have been playing since I was 4 years old and I even played in AA in the Venezuelan League with some experience in Dominican Republica and Puerto Rico and currently playing some ASA softball and some competitive leagues in downtown. I currently work with Wrigley in Chicago after being an SAP Consultant for about 10+ years and currently thanks to companies like Sideshow and Hard Hero I have become a Marvel Avengers fan (I have a lot of reading to catch up)
I have been mostly an Star Wars fan since 1977 but I picked up my collector habits just a few years ago when a friend of mine from the 501st sold me an extra GG Blue Clone trooper for $35.00 and my wife gave me a Darth Maul LE as a Christmas gift.
Those were the pieces that messed me up and made me start my crazy hunt for busts, statues and props.
At the beginning, I was pretty much buying everything Star Wars from Hasbro 3 3/4, Kubricks, Unleashed, GG, Master Replicas, etc always traying to stay in my theme of "Bad Guys only"
I moved to a new house where I have my own basement to display my collection and I was pretty happy with it until I realized that there was NO WAY that I was going to be able to keep up with all the new stuff coming out from every single place in the world.
So I decided to keep only those pieces that I like, the ones that for some reason are special to me or that appeal to me in the way that they were created.
That is when I started to sell all my Hasbro stuff 3 3/4, 12", Unleashed, Kubricks, etc and leave only the Busts, the statues and the props of my "baddies".
The moment of my decision couldn't come in a better time, basically because when we bought the new house the basement was already finished and guess what, no phone or cable connections, NONE, so I have to pay some guys to come and wired my basement trying to do the less damage; that surprisingly went really well, but after that I thought, "what the hell let's redesign my basement and make it more Home Theater and collectibles friendly!!!"
So the pics in my collection (http://www.tk2215.com) are ALL based on my old set up, I am still working in my new design and the final product will be reveal when it's ready (Hopefully not too long)
So, I am glad to be able to share here with you guys, I hope I can collaborate with these forums as much as possible and share with you all the excitement and frustrations of this passionate hobby.:D
