hi! i'm pat carlos (patman), a banker from the philippines. i was a comics fan when i was a kid but stopped shortly before image comics became big (good for me! :)). i got back into comics in 2002 when i visited a comic shop in NY when my wife & i were on our honeymoon. well, i haven't looked back since and have expanded my interests to statues and original art. outside of that, i am into fixing cars (old/new) and trying to revive my interest in photography.

i discovered sideshow around half a year ago when i was starting to get serious about collecting statues from bowen and attakus. it was the owner of the comic shop i go to that introduced sideshow statues. being a comics fan since the 70s, i was instantly attracted to the marvel VS line.

i am now the proud owner of the Wolverine vs Sabretooth and X-Men vs Sentinel (exclusive) VS dioramas with a pre-order of the Hulk vs Spidey diorama. these dioramas are simply awesome! i received my X-Men vs Sentinel a month from when it was originally shipped (since I had to have it delivered to a US address 1st before sending it over to Manila -- you guys in the US are lucky! how i wish sideshow could ship them direct from China!). took me a total of 5 days before i actually had the guts to open it and check if the lights all work.

i am happy to say that my first 2 sideshow dioramas are perfect! i am really happy that i ordered the exclusive variant of X-Men vs Sentinel. some people were saying, don't order it 'coz if the lights don't work or conk out, it will be difficult and costly to have them fixed. well i took the risk and am extremely delighted that it worked on the 1st try! even my wife was impressed! :D

i just have 2 questions --
1. i thought all statues ordered direct from sideshow would get me a Collector for Life baller band. i didn't see anything aside from the DVD.
2. while it wasn't difficult to put together & make the X-Men vs Sentinel diorama (thanks to some tips i read from this forum), i was wondering why there was no instruction manual (or write-up) to help newbies. i wouldn't have known about the light switch if it weren't for the posts in the forum.

anyway, i am very happy to have found sideshow. i just have 2 wishes when it comes to this particular hobby -- (1) a hulk vs thing VS statue and (2) sideshow do some stuff from DC Comics (not a likely thing at the moment, i guess). :D

I normally only get the band when its something that SS had to pack so a larger item that has its own box your not very likely to get one.
