View Full Version : Hot Toys - IRON MAN 1/6th MARK III (Battle Damaged)
05-06-2010, 11:49 PM
Finally picked up my BD IM from my local comic shop. This is my first Hot Toys figure and I'm so sure this won't be the last. Pictures can't really describe how awesome this toy is. One thing though the second I took out the main figure from its packaging the right shoulder armor plate just pops off, at first ok i'll just tab it back in but nope upon further inspection i saw remnants of glue so a quick fix with super glue I glued the tabs to the plastic with 2 small holes that holds the spring and good as new.

I finally took some photos of my Battle Damaged Mark 3, with all of it's gadgets and flaps open (standing next to the brilliant Hot Toys Mark 1):

It's definitely well worth the wait, but the sooner you get this guy, the better. Pics really don't capture how awesome he is once you have him in-hand.

I initially passed on this one since I had the MK3 already but I'm sooo glad I decided to pick it up. Pics definitely don't do it justice. Such a cool figure.

oh and my gunmetal grey that I got the other day
I think his mod may have 1/16"-1/8" on me by removing parts of the ball joint..
Damn that neck is almost nonexistant on the actual suit :(

here it is with everything retracted. i just took out the head sculpt and placed it over the ball joint, its very loose.

Just got this piece today. I love this piece only thing about it is the BD chest plate color doesn't match the rest of the limbs. Hope you like my pics.

I've been doing up the original Mark 3. Weathering it with soot like the Kotobukiya that also helps camouflage the off colour waist.

A few pictures of BD Iron Man the way I have him displayed:
He is on my desk at my office, and he has been getting a lot of attention from my co-workers. :)
Just got my Ex and I gotta tell ya, I am blown Away with the engineering and detail of this thing. Just took an initial inspection but NO pics can do this figure justice when you have it in hand. It's a stunner, gorgeous paint that changes looks in different light...
I don't know what more one can ask for a great Miniature Museum Quality Representation of the IM1 Movie Character.
This will be THE ONE I think. It is ridiculously versatile and I always loved the Golmera, Jet Flight and Final Battle scenes the best and you can do all that with this. The base rocks too.
What a Sick piece of work this is. Can't even imagine anyone doing something like this three years ago. Oh, and the crushed helmet has it's own slot and it isn't cheap looking, it feels like the normal helmet. Maybe they upgraded it.
Here's Mine. Couldn't be happier...

Ive got mine today too :D nice Figure! I love it, but u have to find a good pose ...

You have to push in the second side of the stand in the socket, while the first one is already in, u know?
Thanks, I figured it was easy... just didn't want to mess up my new toy:lol
I have to say, I much prefer this version to the original. The first figure is badass... but HT really outdid themselves on the BD version.
Some pics of mine:
And just for fun...[/B]
