This is a really neat Series and I have the first five figures released and love them dearly. But I'm really hoping the Series isn't as moribund as it seems to be. Is there a chance we will see any releases in the near future? Or ever again? Sideshow can not end this without Bill Hic^^^^ being represented at the very least! So many more lesser known but interesting possibilities. Bat Masterson was an incredible peacock and would offer great possibilities for outfits. Likewise Bill Cody. What kind of a line of lawmen and outlaws is complete without the James Boys, the Youngers, The Dalton's Gang (you could even get a couple of female figures in there). That's just for starters.
On a slightly different but related note, how about doing a couple of "fantasy" figures in a new Western line? "Silver Screen Heroes" or "Flickering Screen" maybe? I'd be ecstatic to have a Richard Boone "Paladin" figure, a Roy Rogers, the Marshall and his Deputy from "Colt .45", "Yancy Derringer", "Maverick", Matt Dillon, so many others from television and films that I can't help but believe would be popular with us thirty and forty somethings.
Please Sideshow, don't give up on "The Golden West". I'm counting on you guys.

"Alias Smith and Jones" figures.Pete Duel though, not that other bloke.
As Brants said before, some lines take a moratorium for a couple of years.Look at Buffy.Back, and stronger than ever.

I think our best bet will movie license Western figures - but i could be wrong. No offense to the history buffs, but give me The Magnificent Seven over Billy the murderer any day...:fart

A licensed series would be fine. I mentioned a few I'd like to see. But I'd still like a Hic^^^^ before the series takes it's last breath.
And on TV stuff, I'd love a James West from "The Wild, Wild West" in addition to the others I mentioned. Besides Roy Rogers at number 1, he'd be tied at # 2 with Richard Boone from "Have Gun, Will Travel" as most wanted. You give 'em boots and spurs, and I'm gonna buy 'em.

A John Wayne figure from "The Searchers" would be the Ultimate 1/6th Western Figure!

I think if people are interested in this line, or 'Reel' Cowboys, this is exactly what you need to do. Keep the inquiries coming. Make your lists. Show your passion for it being done. This will show SST there is a strong following for this genre, and that people have a desire to spend their money on it, to keep it going. Great selections above, and I would certainly, ( I've said this before) want as my first 'reel' cowboys, Steve McQueen as Vin, in, "The Magnificent Seven", as well as the whole cast of "Seven". Clint, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach in, "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly". (Wallach was also in "The Mag Seven"). Henry Fonda, Jason Robards, Charles Bronson (also in "Seven"), Woody Strode and the best cinema badman ever, Jack Elam, from, "Once Upon A Time In The West". I think a Jack Elam would be absolutely great to have. He and Bruce Dern were two of the, if not the two, best western badguys to ever watch on the big screen. Alan Ladd as "Shane", with Jack Palance as 'Wilson'; certainly one of the screens most menacing badguys. "The Wild Bunch", with the four stars, Charleton Heston as "Will Penny" (Dern's in this one too), Lee Marvin as "Monte Walsh" (Palance is in this one also), "Open Range", with Kevin Costner and Robert Duval. Also , "Lonesome Dove" (with Duval again), and cast. Also, the westerns of, Gary Cooper, James Stewart, Richard Widmark, Glenn Ford, Tom Sellack, Sam Elliot, Randolph Scott, Walter Brennan, Gregory Peck and John Wayne ( I'd take him from his role in "Red River" first). Of course all the '50's and '60's westerns, like, "Trackdown", "Wanted: Dead Or Alive", "Gunslinger", "Rawhide" and "The Rifleman", to name a few, would be great to see, but looking back at this list, maybe my three year old son might get to see these...LOL!
As far as the history side, or, Six Gun Legends goes, if I could pick the next seven, they would be these:

Pat Garrett, John Ringo, Ike Clanton, Wild Bill Hickok, Bat Masterson, Modoc Chief 'Captain Jack' and Judge Roy Bean.

Very good suggestions Double J. I like the 6 guns line too. It is there I think we would need to concentrate our efforts, as this is an established line. As such, I would think licensing wouldn't be so much of a hindrance, them being historical figures of days gone by.

Whereas the "Reel" characters come from so many different studios, licensing becomes impossible to co-ordinate. I am not an expert in that area at all, or any other for that matter, but I would think that that is a logical conclusion. So to achieve any resemblance of those character lists, one would have to segregate them into their studios, then see which studio has the most or best characters, then approach that particular studio to negotiate the required license. A long and drawn out process before Sideshow can even contemplate which way to go next. A lot of effort for a predictable outcome.

Sideshow don't drop a line that is obviously popular for no good reason. This line has not been dropped. They are working to a strategy, so that each new line can be brought back, to support efforts to increase collectors numbers and interests, broadening their fan base and projecting a knowledge of where they can draw revenue for expansion when the time comes, consolidating their future and our further pleasure.

My Sister, who s the worlds biggest John Wayne fan but does nt have a lot to do with action figures, said she d snap up a 12" Ethan Hawke or 1/4 scale like a shot!Believe me,thats saying something!
Those old Westerns have a huge, vastly untapped following spanning generations.

I have seen the likeness of Steve McQueen done by Toys McCoy & 21st Century. Jame Coburn and Charles Bronsons' images have been done (as WWII Figures) by a Dragon affilliate and either Dragon or Blue Box has a figure that bears a pretty strong resemblance to Yul Brynner. Also, Yamato has a western series caleed "Peacemaker", that has a bounty hunter who is styled after Clint Eastwood ('George'), and a sheriff who looks an awful lot like John Wayne. Yes, I do agree with you creecher, there could be a lot of jockying for position with license, et al. I suppose tho, if the right amount of 'cha-ching' is waved in the right faces, that might also be a factor. I too think, that SST is just 'reloading' SGL for a future marketing revival. This is really a great, and still popular series, with a strong fan base. Geez guys, just think if SST had started in the early '50's. Can you imagine the images we'd have today!? Still, if this wait for now, means an outpouring of another half dozen or so new images in the near future, it is what it is, and that is, mo definitely worth the wait...

I'd forgotten all about them. I reckon that's a great idea BrianKtn. Two figures, good contrast, quick simple in out series. Bang Bang, you got me.
