I've posted some of "Willowswarlocks" photos below that focus on the costume but to see all of them click the link:http://btvsfigs.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=Customize&action=display&thread=1138741879&page=3

He did a fantastic job with this. Just think how great Sideshow could do this figure! By the way, he used Faith as his Illyria!

Well, I think this effectively proves that the costume can be done in 1/6. Hop to it Sideshow.

Exsoooooolent.
A very nice custom. I wouldn't mind having an Illyria. Then again I bought a Vampyre Buffy. Looks like Buffy may be fading fast if people only want the core characters, when such good figures are still not sold out. Like Der Kinderstod, and the Master, are still to be had. D'Hoffryn is not on the Buffy page but is still available too. Maybe people are missing that fact because it isn't shown with the rest of the Buffy figures. Sideshow, send some to your Australian distributor. I want one.
Looks like Buffy fans arent necessarily 1/6 collectors. Am I right? I must be. Buy them. Buy them now, and I'm sure Giles will follow. I can't talk, I still haven't bought 4 or 5 of them. I do think Sideshow will produce a few more figures, knowing that Giles will be popular amongst the core collectors, or do youse think Giles should be done now, and let enthusiasm peter out?

It is hard to say what people who are fans of a show will buy.
I love the SS Buffy figures and that is what brought me to the website.
I am not interested in the other collectibles, like the jewellery, swords
boxes etc. Yet some fans love both the figures and the other collectibles.
I was a one point going to pick up the small figures until I got a look at
the SS items. No comparison in detail and quality.
I don't buy every figure that they make for Buffy, X-files etc.
I buy what I like. I just bought Der Kinderstod from SS this week because
I think it is a great figure.
So I want the line to continue too!

I am surprised that some of the core figures aren't sold out yet, but what is still available is made for a niche group of a niche audience. I know some people who are huge Buffy fans, and bought one Buffy figure, Buffy. I know some people who are huge toy fans, but only buy what they like, and what they see in person (most often at a Toy Show or ComicCon these days). I think it is rare for people to get a majority of a line, outside of the Star Wars stuff. I can see why these later figures are harder to market, but I won't be very surprised when nostalgia sets in, and those same people who only bought Buffy, or Buffy and Angel, decide to try to find Darla!

I'm a much bigger Angel fan, so I only buy Buffy figures that are strong tie-ins with Angel.

If I were rich, I might be more of a completist with lines such as Buffy, than I am. But I'm not, so I have to pick and choose the characters that I like. I've even passed over characters that I wanted (Willow and Faith) because I wasn't happy with the sculpts. I can't afford to buy every figure in sight. Even though I'm a big Buffy fan, I'm more likely to do that with Majestic's Dark Shadows line if they continue it because DS is priority one in terms of my collection. I can't do that with every line - I would go broke.
I want Darla, but I want her in the period gown (a possiblity in the Angel line, I would imagine), so I won't buy the current one. I desperately want Giles because he's one of my favorite characters. That doesn't mean that after him, I'd stop collecting Buffy. It just depends on who they release.
That Illyria custom is very nice. :)
