Wish it were a larger scale.

At least it gives us an idea of what the Mark IV figure will look like. Well, assuming they are doing a Mark IV figure. Perhaps this bust indicates that they're skipping the Mark IV as a possible figure?

I was kinda thinking the same, although if they can get that finish on mark V and VI figures... wooo.

Not digging the missing lower arms so much. Would have been better either without the arms altogether, or with them in full.

fat chance. even boba didnt have his jet pack. Besides, by putting that big gatling gun on his shoulders, it would be proportionately unbalanced, and would topple over.

I think it'll be similar to what we've been getting so far with the previous mark 2 and 3s.

I love that they included the biceps. Some of the best intricate designs are there for the other Marks. The Mark V has the skeletal pattern, the Mark VI has the large golden enlay as War Machine has the plated look, not to mention we get the shoulder portions as well which will be important for War Machine. I can't wait for this one.

and....Yulli has been saying in all recent interviews that she wants to go bigger and JC said when the market shows a need that Hot Toys will go there, yeah they did this with Batman, Predator, etc but they are showing more and more body which means its on the horizon.

Everything is coming out in Q2?... I find that hard to believe.

The Mike
03-15-2010, 12:58 PM
Q2 is April through June. I don't find it that hard to believe they'd be releasing Iron Man product during the duration of the film's theatrical release.

vodoun
03-15-2010, 02:14 PM
I know when Q2 is. I was mainly referring how I find it hard to believe that. DX MJ Bad is due Q2, Tony Stark Mech is due in Q2, Arnie T2 is due Q2, Sarah Connor Q2 and then this, War Machine in Q2? then whatever other Iron Man figures in Q2. No way is that possible to have it all out in the next 3 months.

Sounds like a cluster **** waiting to happen.

Deckard
03-15-2010, 02:19 PM
Sure it is, its just going to cost us.

But they have alot of other licenses to get around to this year so I expect this is what all of 2010 will be like.

Hell yeah!

Just curious to see, what are all Ironman Haters have to say about this piece.

The Mike
03-15-2010, 03:09 PM
Its going to be a cluster____. HT like Sideshow doesn't really take into account those of us who follow multiple lines just those who buy. SSC does it, it seems like every January, where they hit 8, 9 maybe 10 shipments of multiple lines at the same time where we have to bite down on something and just take it.

No Iron Man hate for me but I don't approve the way Hot Toys QC is right now... it's appalling.

Hot Toys track history right now with rushing things = busted things. Then it's bend over and take it with their current attitude. Oh sorry, denial. _

dedguy
03-15-2010, 08:45 PM
So this is all wild theorizing but...

... In order for HT to be showing us this stuff now, they would have had to see the designs a long ass while ago. So it could be that they where only shown the Mark IV and not the VI because either the production didn't want to show it or it wasn't finalized yet. So maybe they where just shown the mark IV but where told there was a mark V and VI and that the VI was very similar to the IV.

So they did the IV as a bust hedging their bets planning perhaps on only making the VI and then making the IV if there was enough demand. Much like the III being followed by the II.

So, the triangular chest light armour will be MARK V?

No, the Mark VI has the triangular arc reactor. The Mark V is the suitcase armor (or so everyone theorizes).

This bust looks very impressive, but I'll hold out for one in a larger scale and with higher quality materials.

As a fan of the Iron Man stuff I don't think it's too much. You could say there's way too much Star Wars stuff. It's just a matter of what you like. I'd say what will sell is exactly as much as there should be.

Meh.

In fact, I struggle to give it a response even resemblant of 'meh'. Mini-busts are always a bit wussy. Either Hot Toys releases the 1/6 scale figures pronto (which will actually sell), or it stops pussyfootin' around and makes a proper 1/4 statue.

HT used the wrong sculpt for the chest RT on the MK.4 bust. They were so accurate for all their 1/6 figures for the first movie.
On the Mk. 4 bust, it appears to be the Arc reactor instead of the Chest RT (Mk. 5's [below], but the RT appears to be the same for Mk.3 and 4).

Unless they have plans for a bust of Tony Stark (sans armour) that necessitates the Arc Reactor.

http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/5990/chestrt.jpg

Hope they will not use "the Arc Reactor" for their Mk.5 bust.

I picked mine up yesterday and I will be returning it as half of the chest plate has not had any clear coat applied to it so it has a matt finish and the rest of the bust has a high gloss finish. It is a shame as it is a nice bust and the paint is nicely done apart from this one thing.

I am pretty sick of Iron Man but, i felt the need to purchase this bust, such a cool design, first time i turned on the light up feature, i was blinded.

Something I've noticed on my mark 4 bust is the light on the chest still glows when it's turned off. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

Yup, mine did that at first and now only when I turn it on does it stay on for a bit afterwards.

Mine didn't exhibit this issue when I first got the bust but after a few days I noticed the faint light when I was staring at my display. I've not turned on the bust on for a couple of weeks now and still the arc emits a faint glow (pictured above).

Even my War Machine bust has this issue. My Mark 6 bust don't have this issue as of yet. I just removed the batteries cause I'm afraid it'll just drain them.

At first I thought I was going crazy,or had gotten the only lemmon out of the bunch.because mine does the same thing.it is happening to my mark 4,but not my war machine or my mark 6 does`nt have this issue.
