Seems the story is canon. Marvel just put Thor at an all time low. After being destroyed by Rulk last year, this week's Hulk ''let the Battle begin'' one shot shows the Thunder God getting humiliated and destroyed like never before !!!

In the anime, didn't he have trouble at first then managed to pick it up after which he had no problem, then threw it at Thor?

Yes, Thor was standing idly by expecting Hulk to wear himself out trying to lift his hammer. Then hulk not only picked it up, but threw it at Thor and knocked his block off. :rock:rock The look on Thor's face when Hulk managed to lift the hammer was priceless...

Although that was the ultimate universe....but still.

Is this story from the old days of Marvel? Because if its suppose to be in the present, Thor is in the wrong outfit, meaning it's not Thor at all, but actually Ragnarok (or Clor). So all Hulk managed to do was beat up a cheap immatation, something Hercules could do, and Thor is still awesome. Or its out of continuity, so therefore lame.

It's funny watching people get worked up over what comic character can "beat" another. Ummmm, whoever the writters decide wins is who's gonna win. Some people act as if these are real fights and when their guy "wins" they get all "see?? told you so" :lol

I know I'll probably get blasted for this, but being a comic book reader since the 70's through present, I have to say the Hulk is a character that I just don't like. A creature of rage... and then with all the devastation and tossing buildings around for decades they had the gall to introduce that child (can't remember his name now) during the whole world war hulk fiasco, that said hulk has some sorta calculating power that allowed him to not hurt any innocents during all that devastation?????? I know a lot of people love him, but I still don't get it!

Since Thor is a God, who is supposed to be one of the beings responsible for basically maintaining the universe, from a line that created the universe, there is no way that he could ever be beaten, unless somehow his divinity is lost. This Hulk beating Thor, and Hulk lifting Thor's hammer is total nonsense, written because the writer ran out of anything else interesting to write that would actually fit in the canon Marvel Universe. Pure sensationalism fort it's own sake. Maybe if this happened in a realm controlled by more than one other God that wanted Hulk to beat him, and made Thor weak and gave Hulk more power, then this could happen.

The Marvel gods are not ''gods'' in the sense of the words..They are just powerful alien beings that have been workshipped by the Marvel humans civilisation over ages.

Gods in the MU were only "gods" to the un-powered populace in ancient times. Mutants, superhumans, high powered sorcerers and advanced technology have closed the gap.

Really? I'd more equate this to the same way Medusa was beaten by being forced to look at her own reflection. The law binding Mjolnir says only those worthy can heft it. What it does not specify is whether or not those holding it can or can't be manipulated. Both Hulk and Rulk (who did it first Shai :p) found a flaw in the laws of Mjolnir and exploited it.
