Check this out.. I was buying the new Marvel Ultimates Omnibus and saw it was priced at $8.99. I looked around and other Marvel Omnibuses were that low as well.. All Hardbacks.. So I made sure I wasn't seeing things and checked the B&N website..

All price below from Barnes and Nobles website

Howard the Duck Omnibus $105.7
The Invincible Iron Man Omnibus, Volume 1 $74.99 at B&N
Secret Wars Omnibus I and II are $94.99 (got both)
Daredevil by Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark Omnibus, Volume 1 $56.24
Daredevil by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev Omnibus, Volume 2 $74.99
The X-Men Omnibus, Volume 1 Ross Cover $74.99
Thor Hardcover ? pre-order
The Ultimates Omnibus $94.99
Wolverine Omnibus, Volume 1 $74.99

roughly $800 before tax if purchased at B&N using their current discounted prices. Thor hardcover not included in this total.

On Amazon.com they are no more than $15 and some as low as $8

Total marvelous price thru amazon... 89.94 + $41.20 = $131.14

That's less than the price of two of these massive comics collections combined.

There are more than I listed that are on this crazy fire-sale. I guess they are making room for having all these collections on DVD's perhaps or for IPAD IPOD download. Or it could be a price mistake. Just wanted to pass it on to all Marvel collectors here.. ;)

This one?

Yeah. It hasn't come out yet, but I find no other re-tailer selling a hardcover Thor that low a price either. So I ordered it to lock in that price.

LOL Yeah.. This deal has apparently made it onto all the deal websites by now. Word spreads quickly of insanely low prices.. lol.. Howard the Duck the comics are a whole lot more fun than the Lucas movie.. Well worth $15 for all the comics in one.

How can a Lucas movie be fun anyway? ;) Thanks! My shelfs will quickly cry under all those books.

Given the great deals to be had, I just had to call Amazon to confirm. Apparently, the comic boards are buzzing about these discounts. For now, it appears every book I ordered is SOLD OUT. There is no guarantee that any of my orders will be filled.

If you ordered early enough while they were in stock, they will ship. However it looks like many won't be able to be filled as they did not have a cap as to how many people could order. Some people ordered a couple hundred and so forth as well. What they've done in the past is for those that ordered more than 2 per account, would then be cut out completely while those whom ordered 1 early on would get fulfilled.

Ordered one of everything. Thanks for the heads up. Looking foward to reading these. I don't buy comics anymore only paperbacks so this was a great find on some modern and classic stories.

The ones that were ordered when they were in stock will likely ship. Mine says they will ship in 9 days or something... I'm not getting my hopes up that it will happen.

The Ultimates Omnibus is shipping already and I bought it at $8.24 :) The rest are still there and haven't been canceled. Others who ordered more than one are getting e-mails saying 1 of their orders will be fulfilled, not the 999 or so they put in..lol.. Which is what amazon has done in the past with these types of price mistakes.

Amazon admits that this is a price mistake, but all (max of 1 per book per customer) will be honored as long as the books are in print.

Sadly, that isn't true. Orders for in print are being cancelled all over the place.
Some people aren't even getting the courtesy cancellation e-mail. Oh well.

They claim they don't have enough stock to fulfill orders.

Most people are getting just one of their orders fulfilled while the rest are being cancelled. I was a lucky one to be early enough to get some of my orders shipped already.

I got this email:

Hello,

We wanted to follow up on a recent message we sent about the cancellation of
your recent order.

To recap: Due to a pricing error, we sold many more graphic novels than
expected. In fact, we completely sold out — we don't have any in stock right
now, and we're not sure when we'll be able to get more.

We're sorry for any frustration the issue may have caused, and have applied a
$25 promotional certificate to your account.

You can use it the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com.
You'll see your available promotional balance at checkout--this amount will be
applied to your next order automatically without entering a claim code.

I hope this helps. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sincerely,

Customer Service

It is there, just place an order for something and it automatically pops up like a discount. At least, that's how it should work.
