Finally trying to put this guy together. Been gathering parts for sometime now. Really all that's left is to fix everything in place.
Standard Hasbro Scout with added TOMY Helmet, custom pouches and shoulder armor (courtesy of Bobamike), and custom leather Newline Miniatures boots painted white. Not sure if I'll use these just kind of testing it all out. Also added some CIA pants over the body suit to bulk him up a bit.

thanks ryan,
I do appreciate those kind words.not everybody would agree.since recasting is a shady subject around here.as of now I have a mold for the helmet its a total of 4 pieces.it takes some skill to put it all together but I do have the helmet aside from the helmet I have the shoulder bells, knee armor, waist pouches, thermal detonator( not the greatest) and the koyobukia chest and back armour.and I preffer the hasbro chest piece over the koyobukia one,it fits better.also I have the blaster mold too and the holster.

Do you sell the recast parts? I'd be interested in some! Just got a Tomy helmet today and plan to rework my Hasbro scout.

By the way, Ryan1982- what was the body you used? I have a bunch of Dragon figures I use for custom figures but the heads seem a bit too large to fit into the Tomy helmet.

contact mike and im sure he can hook you up with wht you need.

i used a dragon neo3 body, cracked the torso open, took out the dragon neck post and inserted the hot toys slim nekpost. fits into the slots ok.. a little loose but not bad. glued everything back together. also dremeled down the outside parts of the dragon body's shoulders so it reduced the bulk and the shoulder armor would fit better.

Cool thanks.... So it was a Hot Toys Slim body neck and head? I'm just curious what head fits on that Tomy helmet. Is there any reason why you used the Dragon body rather than the Hot Toys body that the head/neck came with?

Sean

yes, it was the HT slim neckpost and head. i didnt use the HT slim body because the one i have have was broken so i just salvaged the head and neck from it and i just like that sculpt. thnk the Dragon body is a little more bulky and the armor would fit a little nicer than on the slim. also, the HT head doesnt fit exactly under the helmet, i had to trim off quite a bit of the sculpt from the top and sides so it would fit.. if you get one of those black balclava face mask thingys you cant tell its been trimmed down.

After seeing all the awesome scouts here I now have to make one or two for myself, I even
went and bought 2 counter displays of these helmets because I wanted a few other helmets.

I just hope there is at least 1 scout out of the 24 helms. :lol

Its a small world.:lol

I wanted 2 scout helms, 2 skiff guard and 1 of each of the others for myself , the rest I'm probably just going to resell.

What I really wanna find is a Rebel Trooper helm from series 1

Very small.

Heck, we could have gone in on that auction together and probably saved each other a few bucks. Oh well. Looks like we will both have some extra helmets coming our way.:D

I posted this in the other thread but..

If we both have crap luck getting what we want out of our boxes I will be up for trading a few back and forth. Out of 24 I'm sure Ill get more skiff guards than I need, but getting a Jango or camo scout might still be a long shot for me.

the fleet trooper helmet? think i saw someone that used one of those and the hlme was a little undersized for the fig. i may be wrong tho.

Vivisect
02-15-2010, 10:29 PM
I wouldnt mind seeing a comparison to a Sideshow helm to see the difference, but anyhow it seems quite a few Tomy helms are under sized like the tiefighter pilot and such. but if its just a tiny bit undersized it can be offset by using a narrower shouldered figure and a slightly undersized head sculpt I suppose, then It wont be obvious at least.

Anyhow I was gonna start with just the helm, and some jack boots and sew the rest of the outfit myself, along with a little leather work for the belt. Then sort out getting a gun for him.

I did some work today on my Biker Scout. I added the straps to the boots. I used sculpy...

http://i925.photobucket.com/albums/ad100/Chaka34/biker20.jpg

I then borrowed a couple of Hasbro Snowtrooper pouches I had left over. I trimmed them, glued them together and painted them. The shoulder bells are casts Dorg's gave me. I also added some baggie pants over the Hasbro jump suit to give it a beter look.

Thats something to think about, thanks for the input.

The pouches from the right are from the Koto Biker Scout. The ones on the left are the Hasbro ones. I intentionally placed the armor to fit different on each scout to give them some individuality. I also kinda like how the pouches also differ a bit.

I will give you that the Koto pouches are more screen accurate.
