Custom Joker Tie

Someone commisioned me to make a replacment tie for the Joker. I had trouble getting a good photo of it because the silk has a sheen to it which reflects the flash and makes the pattern blurry. Looks great in hand though. :lol

Ok. In reference to the shirt, I really don't have plans to try the shirt (not right now anyway) and as for doing any of the ties, I do have enough material left to do a very limited run of these. I am in the process of finishing up a few outstanding projects and getting ready to move on to other things as well (so this one would be very small). If anybody does want them PM me for details and I will contact you about it. Since I have everything setup for making ties already I would just knock these out and have them finished by this weekend and ready to go. Now that I have my new workshop setup life is going so much easier with projects (finally) :D

Owning a BillyB tie and looking at these photos I would say so. The material BV used is spot on.

Yep they are made from silk, or silky looking material = more accurate look. The patterns are near identical with this just be ever so slightly better in that dept too

While color, and the size of the pattern have yet to be perfectly nailed in 1/6, I think the shirt material is the most glaring issue. The costume shirt had a subtle sheen to it that cotton just can't capture at this scale. If BV decides to take a stab at the shirt, I'd love to see if he could nail down this missing detail.

Perhaps one could make one from scratch, getting a white shirt, (say from harvey dent), then dyeing it blue before adding the pattern. HUGE job but would look awesome. I pmed him asking for two the day the went up for order. PMed him about a payment a few days later. No reply. PMed him a few days after that to make sure I was on 'the list'. He replied that I was.

But every time I sent a pm (4, once in between his replies) about payment I never got a reply back. I spaced them out to give him time to reply.

Then I just stopped bothering.

That was two weeks ago.

there are people who are waiting for their ties that has been shipped on 17th feb and still haven't them in hand.

He offered me the 'last' two but still didn't get any response when I showed interest. It's now 3 weeks ago.

And when I see that there is a user 'pumuckl8968' who hasn't get his custom figure now over 10 months from him, I'm really starting to worry about those ties that we'll never see them.

no, i didn't even come to the point of ordering something :P I'm not talking for myself. There's just this example that someone has ordered something and still didn't get what he ordered more than 6 months. sure it takes a lot of time, but if you want to do a professional business, you should act like that. if the customer asks you something, why not replying to his question? And if he shipped the ties 3 weeks ago to some in the USA, isn't it a bit weird that no tie has arrived yet?

I appreciate that KBA but, It is my fault somewhat because I did get behind in shipping these out. That is the main reason I am taking a break for a bit after these are caught up. Projects are just taking too much time among other things. Plus trying just keep up with my Inbox is a major chore as well. This project just boomed up big real quick like other things but it will be completed this week and that is one less thing to worried about :D No sob story, no major life altering events, just a bunch of work here and in real life that needs to be caught up on. Yes it has been a little while since I posted an update. I was actually able to work through alot of these last weekend and should be able to knock them out this coming weekend. I will post another update with pics then. I got back to my normal schedule at work again so I have been able to work more regular now plus I pretty much have everything moved into my new shop now. Yes I am aware of this issue and I am glad this has to do with my Joker Tie. I am still sending out everyones DC number this weekend like I planned but so much for feeling happy about getting caught up. I appreciate the "Concern Emails" and "PMs" and I really like the ones that drop C Howes hints, They just make me ever so happy and motivated. Oh well I am not going to _____ about it really, because I know its my fault and I got behind (Which is why I stopped taking on anything new for a while) and I am not EVER doing runs of anything again! I like making hard to find pieces to help people for their customs but honestly its just too much anymore. AM I retiring from customs? NO! But runs of stuff YES!. I am not going to come on here and write a novel but my hardships in life or bad decisions and look for sympathy from people because thats just the way life is. In the future and projects I do will be a per commision basis or a "one of" sold when finished type of deal. Sorry for ranting.

Ok I am back on-line again. I know I have been spacey lately and not on the board much. Even though this is not like me at al,l I only feel it is fair to my customers to know exactly what is going on with me. Again I have always hated to air my person issues out on the boards but lately me being M.I.A. alot needs an explaination.

Late last year on top of my job being getting busy, my wife started having issues with insomnia. It just came on very quick and was odd because she went to bed every night like clock work. After that she started getting alot of anxiety about not getting enough sleep for work the next day and became very upset about the whole deal.She would panic about not sleeping, and eben started to get chest pains. We went to several different doctors only to get no real answers. Tons of tests, and still no answers. One doctor helped and attributed it to stress due to her very crappy parents that moved closer and won't leave her alone that much (I could go on for hours about this) anyway a few weeks ago she finally stood up to her mother (who is always a victim in everything) pulled the poor me, everybody hates me thing and tried to kill herself (more of an attention getting way) but ended up in a mental hospital to be observed for a few days. Of coarse the did put the stress levels through the roof and the sleep issues started up again. As stated before she went to bed every night at 9:00pm like clock work, then I would work on customs till 1:00 or 2:00 and all was great, now alot of nights are spent trying to take care of her and help her try and calm down. It actually put a bit of a strain on our relationship for a while, but things seem to be alot better now and we are closer for it. Still working on the sleep thing some nights but not as bad as it was. On top of all this I have been trying to finish a contract at work and average driving 1400 - 2000 miles a week to the different locations. Most of my close friends from the board know what has been going on and have been a great help.

The kicker is alot of my projects are very close to being completed or even fully completed and just needing to be packaged and shipped out. Again I really hate coming here and airing all of this out because I try to keep my personal life and customs life seperate, but lately it is not working. The good news is the work contract will be completed next week, so the crazy driving and hotel stays will be finished. My wife knows I am stressed to the max with all of this and actually feels bad for parts of it and has agreed to help me finish (mostly by packaging and mailing things for me) so I can get all of these things out to you guys. Again I am not looking for sympathy or playing the poor me artist card, I just wanted everyone to understand what has been going on. We should get alot accomplished toward this, this weekend and get everyone the updates so long over due. Things will definatly be better soon.

His get out clause doesn't wash.

How can he say all that then be posting this (http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2645815&postcount=5) and this (http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2646828&postcount=18). Honesty and being upfront is not his motto.

If his wife is that crucial that he's having to put this job aside what's he doing making ED-209 domes for other people when he can't fulfill his already orders for Joker ties and god knows what other old orders he has with other people. Yes it's great of him to be working on replacement domes for people when they are perishing badly but this trust in him I can't see happening with ED-209. He can't complete already placed orders for people so what's he doing taking on new commissions for. If he can get sick of making ties, he'll get sick of making domes and brush others off.

This isn't an attack, it's the fact of truth. Nearly 3 months later that post is about his job and issues with his wife. He doesn't seem to have a very good memory.

Actually I have been posting updates on my project through out the week. My wife is doing alot better now that they have got her on medications. Also I have been on vacation from work all last week and getting caught up on all past projects. That is the only reason I took on the replacement dome project a few days ago. I never said I was sick of making ties or anything, and in fact I didn't take on any further projects until I was caught up more. If anyone is upset with this or how I have handled it, I will refund this project and move on. I know I got behind but am finally getting caught up. Again if anyone wants a refund or out of this project I understand just let me know.

Thanks. I know I really screwed up this project so I just wanted people to know the option was out there since there were a few upset people. That is the main reason that on any future work I am doing, no money up front just in case things happen. It has taken a while but you live and learn. Mainly I am glad that things are moving forward again and I am able to work on projects again.

Nope. Everything I send out in boxes and so forth is always like 7-10 days tops. These should be no problem because they were sent in bubble wrap envelopes and they were small enough and light enough not to even require a customs form.

Thats the thing about this forum, when they have bought new goodies and arrival they are posted immediately. It can't be helped. Most are giddy as a schoolboy. It's just how this hobby is.
