Anyone know a good method for removing standard SST heads? Boil and pop maybe?
I've been successful at prying one off once, but the neck adapter suffered some breakage. Not to mention some scarring at the neck of the head sculpt, grr. Any advice would be appreciated!

Boil and pop all the way. It's the best and only way to get those SSC heads off without damaging the neck post.

A hair dryer also works quite well.

I used a hair dryer when I did the Vampire Willow/Willow head-switcheroo!

I hate using a hair dryer. I burn myself, and I sit there forever holding the damned thing while it heats the head. I'd rather just stick a mug of water in the microwave for two minutes, drown the poor bastard, and pop his little head off.
We are still talking about toys right?

and boiling them doesn't hurt the paint or warp the face?

Not a bit. Boiling is also perfect for accessories that come out of the box warped. Also good on Freddy's glove. All the fingers were pointing straight, but a dip in hot water made tem pliable enough that I could fan them out a bit more, then put them under cold water to stiffen the rubber back up.
It should be noted that when we say boiling, we don't actually mean hard-core boiling, like what you would do in cooking. I mean more like 2 cups in a pyrex for three minutes in the microwave.
