I have the feeling Superman has had some influence, some bearing, as a role model, on my life. I like to help family and friends where I can, even consider it as rescueing them from their problems and drudgery. Was Superman to blame, or thank? In my day there wasn't as much on telly as there is now. The Lone Ranger, Superman, Batman, the Cisco Kid, Ivanhoe, Robin Hood, and later Marvel cartoons etc. Maybe in this day and age it's Star Wars personalities. Superman, the original TV series with George Reeves was the start, then it progressed to comics. Later my mum bought me a Captain Action. Those things as a child, that have resurfaced as a taller child, and led me to Sideshow.

The above Poll is virtually irrelevant. Who you choose or discuss is up to you. It's just a lead in to your thoughts. If you think it would be interesting, someone may want to start another thread on villians and their influence.

Ladies, you may want to discuss your atunement to Wonder Woman, Supergirl and the like. I hope you can post some of your ideas, just to show that this isn't entirely a male thing, or maybe it is.

What are your thoughts? Is this just a smaller version of our past influencing our futures?

Who could not have been influenced by 'Batman'.
The caped crusader, righting wrongs and saving the world from evil.
Thanks Adam and Burt, for bringing them to life.

Batman without a doubt. Batmans story is ingenious. And the way bruce himself is played out in the best darker comics reaveal more than just a man in a suit. Batmans really played an important part in my life.

Thanks for adding Han Solo to the list! While some may not think of him as a superhero, as a kid I was inspired by his change from a selfish smuggler to a true good guy.

I voted for quite a few of them. I think that they influence in one way or another. Like tomandshell said...........Han Solo made a jump from selfish to selfless. I would be willing to bet that the majority of us here were influenced by not just one, but by many of the charatcer statues/busts that we collect. For the most part we see these characters and we relate to them in some fashion.

Good one Pitchin.:o

I refrained from voting as my Childhood hero of Conan was not on the list.

Conan bows down to no one by Crom.

I voted for Batman, but in reality he takes 2nd place for me behind the green lug in my avatar.

SpiderMan based on this poll. Normal guy gets some cool abilities and makes a difference. Though, I'd probably go with Wolverine overall. A guy doing things his way. :)

Yes....his way when the whole mind control thing is not being played on him...........over and over again. I would have to go overall with Wolverine also.........he also is not afraid to do what has to be done.........for the overall good........even though it might not be the ethical thing to do.........and he is always prepared to pay the price for it.

What was Buffy's influence on you Migsta? You having problems with your demons, or just the usual thickness of your wallet?
