View Full Version : Growing Old Disgracefully!

So I woke up this morning 39 years old.

For some, it would be a time for introspection... questioning, "what have I done with my life?"

"Have I achieved all the goals I set at 19?"

Personally, I ripped open the presents and went WHOOO HOOOO!

I got this little lot from Dad, Wife & Kids - V. Happy :D

(These other figures I already had - I'm not that lucky!)

Hmmm... One armed guard, Three Shiny Speeders, Four Dodgy Geezers... The Empire wants to be careful in this neighbourhood. Things could go missing!

Cool, are those bikes by Hasbro? I might have to pick one up (also anxiously awaiting a 12" Sideshow Scout Trooper).

Yep, and you can pick them up on eBay or in the for sale section of the forums pretty cheap at the moment. But don't wait too long, once SS release the Scouts, you know the exclusive will be a polystone bike, retailing at around $250! LOL. That's why I'm stocking up now, these babies will go through the roof!

Collecting is what keeps you young. It's a fun, albeit expensive, reminder to not always take life so seriously. Enjoy your haul!

Happy B-day. Nice Booty!

I've got 349 days on you, so I'll let you know how the BIG 4-0 introspection goes in a couple weeks. My life goals are simple: if I'm still breathing and the kids grow up to be good people, I'm good!

I know my haul won't be as good. The wife gave up on me a long time ago. Doesn't know what I have, doesn't know what I want or what condition. She basically will just "let" me take some $$$ to get what I want and say that's my present. Gotta love her for that. Enjoy the day and keep scarfing up those bikes.

Thanks everyone! Having a great day. No work, kids at school, MY TIME!

On a related note, I'm well impressed with the 1/4 scale Maul!

I've read so much of people rubbishing this line (and I agree, the human likenesses are... interesting!) But I'm digging this one. So much so I've just pre-ordered the Emperor and two Royal Guards!

I hear there is a Darth Vader in the works too, hopefully they will do Stormtroopers to flank him as well.

LOL another line, another load of money!

Happy birthday! I have been watching a few speeder bikes lately and I wonder if your family have been the ones that have been snatching them up on ebay!

:lol When I first started reading this, I thought, "Why did this dude put this announcement in the Star Wars Section?" Then I scrolled down ... :rock

Happy birthday, man. I'm three months behind you, but I doubt I have the same quality of gifts waiting for me that day. :( Good on you.

Happy birthday mate! I wish my family had the same flair for gift giving as yours. My wife gave me a gift card for a massage last Christmas.... I think she ended up using it for herself sometime around June... You plan on painting up those speeders? I know Mark (Dorgmal) has done a great job on one that he has. Anyway, have a great one!

I doubt it'll be any different when I hit 39 in 11 years. Excellent haul and happy birthday.

Hi Dorgs!

I collected it from the Post Office after I took the pics. Thanks verymuch mate!

Once the kids are in bed I shall be having at that Hasbro Sandtrooper and one of your Medi bodies will be slipping in there!

Question. Have you glued the shoulder joints? They still move fine, but appear to have been "repaired" interested to know what you did if anything?

I hear ya. And if/when I want to revisit year 28... I just go and date a 28 year old chick or something. :duff

(Note: As a personal policy I never "revisit" any ages earlier than 21 :lol )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Darthgothikus!!!! :rock :rock :rock

I dont remember.. I think it must be my age! I remember them being really brittle like they were made of filo pastry.

I think I had one where I stared at it too hard and the shoulder fell off. Then I must have super glued it back on.
I still have a few medi bodies (the others are off to belgium) you can have and that SS Stormie body and some medi stormie hands if you want them...
Now wheres my slippers and pipe.... Nursie will be here soon with my pills.

You are very lucky mate.

Ha ha! I thought you would spot him!

I was doing the weekly shop in Sainsbury's the other day and spotted some "Stig" shaped bubble bath on the shelf. On closer inspection I realised the Lid/Helmet came off and looked to be about 1/6 scale. As it was only a fiver I chucked it in the trolly. It's a tad small (bit like the Tomy helmets) but on my Aliens Ripley looks pretty cool!

I turned 39 back in May! However, something happened 16 days ago that made me feel old.

My wife had my first kid.

Happy belated-what a wonderful batch of birthday goodies! How sweet to have a hobby-supportive family.

And trust me, once you get past 25 or so age doesn't matter as much, until you start looking that half-century in the eye.
(Ask me next May how *that* is going....)
