ANH Luke SS/HT/Hasbro!

Hi All

I've seen some nice re-dresses of ANH Luke on here, using A new Slim TT body, Stormtrooper Luke Head and Sideshow clothes.

I have all the ingredients but didn't feel like unwinding the leg bindings. I know I'll screw something up and never get them looking right again!

Then I remembered, while clearing up my Pig-Sty office I came across a Hasbro ANH Luke 100th figure, thought what the hell, lets see what he looks like (never opened the box).

I was very pleasantly surprised! Although my nasty flash pictures try to hide it, the Hasbro outfit (apart from the boots obviously, which suck like a black hole), is in my opinion, as good, and as far as the poncho goes, considerably better, than Sideshows!

Now SS has it when it comes to accessories, but I quite like how this fella looks, we have a Slim TT body, Stormie Luke Head & Hasbro outfit, see what you think...

As you can see in the next two shots, those Hasbro boots kill the TT posability!

I think that looks terrific. The way the outfit falls, he looks a lot more movie accurate to me. And of course, the new head is far better than the previously released head. Great idea!

That's right - unfortunately when I tidied up I put all my Studio Lighting away! The Flash on my camera makes the material look quite "shiney" it's actually really nice.

Might take some pictures in daylight tomorrow - or climb up a ladder and get me damn light back out...

I still can't get over what a terrible job they did on the first Luke's hair. Who in their right mind would see that and give it the go-ahead?

Good job Gothikus.I have yet to get myself ANH Luke.After seeing what you've done here,I may not bother & take the kitbash route.

man. that looks awesome... I also have an hasbro ANH Luke and the outfit is awesome. I just need to get my hands on a good sculpt to make the conversion to the slim tt body.

Made some of my own leg wraps from one of the kids muslins soaked in tea bags!

Then used SS ANH Luke's shoes. I think that finishes him off nicely.

My wife wanted to contribute to this photo shoot. First time she has ever shown any interest in my sad obsession... I should have realised when she said she had a prop for me it would be so she could take the p***!

Just to clarify, I believe the only thing he's using from the Hasbro is the outfit. The head is from the Luke and Han as stormtroopers 2-pack, and the body is a Hot Toys Truetype.

This is true.

The final set up I have for this figure is:

1) True Type Slim Body.
2) Sideshow Luke Stormtrooper Head.
3) Hasbro 100th Luke Shirt, Poncho, Trousers, Hat & Goggles.
4) Sideshow ANH Luke Shoes, Belt, Saber, Rifle, Magnoculars.
5) Custom Leg Wraps (Strips of Muslin cloth, soaked in tea, wrapped and Superglued in place).

Cheers Katkuru, I just Googled "Tatooine backdrop" sampled the resulting image up in photoshop and tiled it out on my A4 laser printer (9 sheets)
Trimmed and stuck on card, a quick, cheap 'n' dirty way to get a nice background. Might do a few more for future shoots (I know Dorgmal, I should build a custom 1:6 scale diorama everytime I get the camera out!)

Ya-diddy-ya.

Well if Sideshow can have their apple...

OK so after putting together my kitbashed ANH Luke Farmboy I was left with a half neckid, shoeless Sideshow Luke... Hmmm, what to do?

I never liked him as "Farmboy" but it's too nice a base figure to waste...

I had a root about in my "Bits-N-Bobs draw and came up with a new figure:

It's a few months on from the battle of Yavin, the adulation Luke has recieved from his new friends in the Rebel Alliance has died down.

For the first time he is able to reflect on the crazy changes in his life. Needing to lay some ghosts to rest, he travels back to Tatooine, long gone is the innocent Farm boy, instead he is now a battle hardened Fighter.

Time to bid farewell to the only family he ever new, Gruff old Owen, his serogate mother, Aunt Beru and goodbye to the boy Luke, now he is a man.
