Disappearing fat text

I recently noticed something. When you havent read a new post yet, the text of that post is fat. After you've read it, it will be in normal font. But when I read a thread and I go do something else for a while and then return to the thread, all the thread I havent read yet have suddenly turned to normal font. Is this just me and something to do with firefox or is this some kind of setting on the board I should change?

No that happens to me as well. I think there's a time limit when it marks a post as read or not new. I don't know the specifics. Hopefully one of the vBulletin pros can chime it.

Recently at LotRG they upgraded the vBulletin database to keep track of what posts have been read which is great since you don't have to worry about losing/unmarking any unread items. So you can leave for an hour and the posts you haven't read are still marked as unread.

Noticed that as well, for some reason it seems to go by new posts since you last visited that forum. After a while anyway, initially it is views for that specific thread.

It's a setting that I've been looking for for a long time. But since I now know a lot of people would like it to change, I'll double my efforts.

You may have noticed that the "mark thread as read" feature has changed now so a thread won't unbold until you go into it. You can also choose "mark thread as read" from the thread options menu.
