Sept. 10-13 Anaheim, CA. Anyone planning on going to this?

I have a ^^^^in' wedding to go to on Sept. 12, but I plan on going on the 11th and 13th.

"the biggest and most exciting gathering of all things Disney EVER!!", sounds like it's gonna be awesome. Hmm, I wonder if Sideshow will have some sort of presence there.

I'm going for the 4 days, already have my tickets and the Wednesday before it going to the Haunted Mansion event. I've got the whole week planned out:
Sunday-Disneyland Half-Marathon
Sunday Night to Tuesday Night-Driving to Vegas
Wednesday-Haunted Mansion Event
Thursday to Sunday- D23 Expo

Can't make this but I'm interested to see what comes of it. There is a lot of backlash about what Disney is actually offering for their official membership, a lot of Disney boards are protesting joining because there isn't a lot of payoff for what you get. In order to counter that it seems that Disney is planning on making major theme park announcements for all of their parks as well as announcing things that usually are done in separate press conferences. If you follow Disney's plans for D23 it sounds like they are planning on eventually turning it into their version of Macworld.

It looks like the tickets are discounted for D23 members. You can still buy tickets even if you aren't a member.

I was so psyched about vinylmation but Disney quickly left me behind by releasing what felt like 500 with every turn making it ^^^^ing impossible to catch up. I do plan to get the plushies that are supposed to come out which for all means and purpose should be a much slower release rate and probably at least one set of the pin.

D23 is so close it should be interesting to see if its the Earth Shattering event that Disney is promoting or if its just a passing phase.

I only have one of the Vinylmation pins. I traded with a Cast Member for it. I don't know if I will try and get them all or not. Still havn't decided on the plush. With the regular figures im only completist on Park, but when Holiday, Muppets, and Star Wars get released I will be completist on them too. The rest I just pick and choose.

I just came back from D23, some good stuff, some great stuff, and some underwhelming stuff...
I went there with Incurable Collector, and Ill never showed up...:tap

We saw an Imagineer panel, that was pretty cool...
also we were at the Future of Disney Parks panel,
they are making some awesome stuff but for the park in Hong Kong :mad:
Also new Disney cruises... the only great thing here in Disneyland is the new Cars attraction and the Star Tours 2... which will be...

... Pod Races... :banghead
I hope they include spaceships as part of it...
we'll see...
SO that was a little disappointing...

The dealers floor was meh... I don't know, it was OK I guess...
not sure if it's worth 4 days...
I guess the cools stuff was yesterday

They also had the Tron and Rocketeer they had at ComicCon,
as well as 1:1 V.I.N.... Vincent from Black Hole...
Jack Sparrow's costume and some other cool things...

Another cool thing about the convention was the Upcoming projects exhibits...
where Wall-E was as well as models of the Cruises, and Hong Kong projects...
though I wanted to see more...

You guys out in Anaheim are lucky to have easy access to all this Disneyana. It's a far fly from where I live but was in LA/Anaheim 5 months ago and loved it there.

Just seen on the news. The Fantasy Land remodel and Star Tours 2 in 3D was announced for Walt Disney World! :banana :chew It showed a Pod Race for Star Tours 2. No date on when Star Tours 1 will close down.

Early reports have it closing right after Star Wars Weekends next year and staying closed until the following Star Wars Weekends. Although others are predicting that it'll close before that on the west coast and open earlier since there isn't an event tied to it.

I wouldn't worry about the Podracing...I posted info in the Star Tours 2 thread that should put you at ease.
