Recieved my battle damaged puppet Angel today. It's unfortunate for Diamond that they put pictures of the actual puppet on the box, as it's easy to see how different the product is from the source material. They also go to great lengths to explain how they went to great lengths to get it to look right. And what they produced may match the inanimate screen-used puppet. But they didn't take into account how an operator can make him look completely different.

They embroidered the scars onto the puppet and in the pics they are far more subtle. The removeable nose completely work, it looks like it's floating above his face. And they put the little "this is a plush toy" label on the outside of his pants below the jacket. What's up with that?!

But overall I'm pleased to have him, he's the best puppet Angel prop replica available.

Yeah, I've seen pics, and the face ain't right. The head looks too big and the chin too pronounced. The hair don't look right either. Still, I think the overall product does convey the cuteness of the original. Mine should be here friday hopefully.

The face is way too long, I have the first non scarred puppet, and found that if you repeatedly squish the head until it holds the shape somewhat it looks more and more like the episode version, sounds stupid and possibly cruel but it works

I got my Angel puppet today (original version), and it's definitely a mixed bag. The clothing and shoes are fantastic, but the workmanship on the puppet itself was pretty shoddy. The poor likeness goes without saying, but the eyebrows on mine were very badly done, the right one has a big chunk missing out of the middle of it. There were also strands of dried up hot glue all over the eyebrows and in the hair, I managed to clean most of it up though. I'm pleased with it overall, but it defintely doesn't live up to it's $50 price tag.

Funny that one of the eyebrows had a chunk out of it. If you took out the embroidery scars the battle version might just look like the one you got.

I had to watch the episode again too. Great ep and I'm happy to have this souveneir from it, but I do wish it looked more like the real thing.

If they had just given the mouth more of a frown and set the eyebrows a bit lower to give him look that ticked off look it would've done wonders. In the end it's really the clothing that saves the thing, the outfit is really well done... well, apart from that silly tag hanging off the pants.

Well count me in with those who are rather dissapointed with this version.

As said above the face is far too long and the hair too short. The outfit is excellent though.

At the end of the day I suppose I'm still suprised that this is the best they could come up with. I would have dearly loved an accurate large scale copy of him to complement my own modest little handpuppet version. But oh well...

Your puppets are great! Too bad Spike didn't get turned into a puppet too on the show.
