these are my children since my wife and I currently dont have kids.

Max: male 5 yrs old

Nikki: female 3 yrs old
http://i475.photobucket.com/albums/rr120/yautja31337/nikki.jpg

I found this guy roaming the streets, he was pretty beat and needed medical attention and lots of food, so i decided to adopt the little bastard, my wife named him Rocky cuz she said he is a tuff little guy. the Vet says he's probably like a little under 2 yrs old.

This is Maggie. She is a Beagle Vizsla mix. She is just over 1 year old. She is the best! I named her Maggie because the female lead in The Last Starfighter is named Maggie. My favorite movie. I never had a dog before and I am glad I have her. She truly is my best friend. :rock

How awesome is that. I used to own a jackson but I bought it from a local breeder here in CA. They are established in some areas of CA now just like they are established in Hawaii. They are considered somewhat a pest in Hawaii though. I think they are the best critters ever.

I loved my jackson.

yeah they are all over the place in the mountains here.

Not sure how he got into my yard, but im thinking it was someone's pet that had been bred and this one got away or was let go on purpose. he was pretty small when i found him.

Well, that is how they got established there to begin with. Someone let three out for a while and they escaped.

Yeah i bet he would have lived longer if he was healthy...he was suffering the last 6 months because he had some sort of bacteria that started from his tooth,it was removed but it was too late and it was spreading slowly to his left side of his jaw and face so we couldn`t see him suffer anymore so we had no choice but to put him to death.

I still have a Pic of me 3 years old with my first 3 wheel bicycle with my Cat in the basket:D

Wow - that's a long life for a cat. He must have been a very happy cat.

Like Jen, I was surprised to hear that a cat could live to be 21 years old! My last cat was amazing, but he died suddenly at 10 years old. I miss him a lot.

Anyway, my curiosity was peaked so I did a web search on the lifespan of cats and came across this page...

http://www.messybeast.com/longevity.htm

There are documented cases of cats living into their 30's!!! Holy crap! That's wild. My wife came home this morning and found four or five kittens in our front yard, but they scattered when she tried to approach them. I went outside to see if I could find them but no luck. There are a couple of feral cats in the neighborhood breeding I am sure. I want to catch a kitten or two and adopt them. I love cats.

I don't have pics of our pets (I really need a new cam) but we only have one dog since out landlord says we can only have one pet however we do have severall "stray" cats that hang around that we just happen to name, feed, let in the house from time to time and take to the vet. The dog's name is Jucy and the cats are Mr. Fatticus (orange), Mr. Piggums (black and white), Mr. Grey Grey (grey), Mrs. Blacky Black (black) and Iggins (peach). Technically Iggins is our neighbor's cat but they never feed him or take care of him so he just hangs around our place.

Here is my cat Oliver... I love him to death, he's my daily companion. He always plops next to me when I paint or get on the computer. He started out as my Wife's cat when I met her, but is now much more connected to me... He's awesome. :rock

He snorts a bit, for reasons nobody knows... so I used to jokingly call him "Cat Vader"....

Here's my grl, daddies grl :lol Her name is Sadie and is very sweet like Bruno, the most calmest cat you'd ever know. She's very tolerable about anything and everything you do, she just lays there and allows you to play with her belly. Loves shiny sparkle stuff, anything that has a sparkle to it with her toys she loves. Strings of course but almost any cat loves strings.

Loves Sideshow boxes and wrapping paper

This is my cat Chester. He's 12 now, and not getting any younger. I still remember how teeny he was as a kitty...he's one of the smartest, friendliest, and most gentle cats I've ever met. I have sisters much younger than I, and when they were babies and would pester him, he would walk away from them. If they followed and continued to harass him, he would pop them on the cheek - but never with his claws. He's never purposefully scratched anyone, although when he and I play with his cat toys and I get him all riled up, I've walked away with some damage to my hands. :p

I'm so very sorry Deeznutz. My wife and I had to put down our two (and only) cats about two years ago--they went within months of each other and it completely destroyed us. The months leading up to it were equally devastating.

But now we've gotten two new cats, one that found us and one that we adopted who is the absolute cat's meow! We took some time before we went to a shelter, but the time will come that you too will feel the call of another needy kitty asking for some lovin'.

My sincerest condolences. :(

I know exactly how you feel,i had to put my cat to sleep 2 years agoo,i got him when i was only 2 years old,22 years with him and he was suffering a tooth inflammation his last few months, the doctor took it out but it was too late and the inflammation was getting worse, after a few months half of his face got all swollen and filled with nasty fluid,as much as we tried to get him to the dotor and squeeze the fluid out it came back in a matter of days. The Poor guy was really suffering so we couldn`t stand seeing him like this anymore.

Sorry for your Loss Deez.

sorry to hear that Deez, i've had to do the same to a couple of dogs that i've owned and it feels really crappy, but deep down inside its probably best for the little guy and take comfort in knowing that you gave him a loving home the years you had him and gave it your best shot.

she likes em cuz she doesn't recognize the smell. she sniffs them very cautiouslyand then eventually crawls inside. i usually keep a few boxes for her. when i get new ones i throw out some of the old ones.

Craw I can't get over how cute she is! Just adorable ........... and to think someone didn't want that little bugger. :D

Sad to say because of repeated a-hole neighbor complaints I had to give my little buddy Rocky away recently. Thank God we found him a really good home with a close relative. Its been just over 3 weeks and I feel like I gave my first born away. I had Rocky for about 2 and a half years ......... we got him right after my back surgury in 2007. He was the perfect companion.

Sorry about your cat deez ........... for the record Rocky was identical to your cat. Same make/colour/pattern. I know how you feel.

Our next cat will be an indoor cat ................ thats where we messed up with Rocky. We tried to keep him inside but after 2+ years of roaming free he would whine/cry for hours to go out.

:(you had to get rid of Rocky?!?! oh no!!! i'm sorry to hear that.:( glad you found him a good home though. and yeah i have no idea why nobody wanted to keep my baby. you should have seen her shelter photos. the saddest eyes i've ever seen. the problem is i live in a rural area and people always go straight for the farm kitten give aways when there are many fine cats in the area shelters. i know everybody thinks kittens are cute and a lot of fun but my cat is almost 2 years old and she is as lively and curious as any kitten would be. plus she was already fixed and had all her shots and everything.

I haven't gone to see him yet but I hear he's fit in pretty good and has 3 little kids to chase him around. My guess is he's having alot of fun. Plus he has the freedom to roam around their neighborhood too. I could have kept him locked up inside our place but for what? For my selfish reasons? Yeah, I know what you mean. I hate cricketts too! I raise Dubia roaches. They're a far better bug to raise. No smell, no noise, and pretty much breed on there own without having to do much of anything. They're also bigger and meatier. My animals love them.

I already have a well established colony of over 3000 strong. I also have 5 Bearded dragons and this new S. Monitor. I generally feed my animals out of the roach colony as much as I like, or, should I say THEY like. :D

I just got a new leather couch and keep moving the cat out of the room when going to sleep. I'm scared to death its going ot rip it apart but with her being 18 now I wouldn't want to declaw her and she does like to go out too so she might need them.
She does need her teeth taking out though apparently now. I noticed when one day I got a whiff off her breath. :sick:yuck

:rotfl:rotfl

It's not that cat's live with us, it's that they allow us to live with them (ie: They really are the boss....at least every cat I've ever had has had this mentality). Hehe. My cat's favorite spot is right next to my pillow on my bed, because I didn't want to sleep there (at least that's what I think he believes, ha!).

As for the declawing question someone else asked....I've never had that procedure done. My personal feelings is that it's something that almost never has to be done, but some people see it as the only option/last resort/etc.

Usually the clawing problem can be nipped in the bud with most cats. Having a scratching post (or posts) and training usually does the trick quickly and efficiently. Some people have used soft paws but I've never had to resort to that. I do trim my cat's nails though as he can scratch an arm or leg on accident sometimes.

I usually keep him there because she likes to sniff him, I guess that's NECA for you :lol

Plus he guards her house. What's funny whenever I was building this PC she was so curious and playing with all the parts and then she eventually slid back into her house behind some plexy glass I had for my computer case. :lol

Gilligan, our next door neighbor's dog. Very sick, and just had surgery to repair an intestine and remove (test) a tumor that was found. We've been helping take care of him. Since I can't work, and am home all the time. IVs, medicine, etc... I've been sleeping on the floor with him. I have to help him up, out, etc... I've know him for the last 5 years. It's the holidays at the neighbors, people/noise, so our home is a quiet place for him to get well. It's been a roller coaster, Vet ER a few times now. We are doing what we can for him. My wife and I love him as if he was ours and our "girls" have accepted him as well.
