Cant wait for Transformers 3. Watched 2 again on Blu the other day. These things are fun kick *** movies to watch.

tbs had a showing of the 1st one tonight. I channel surfed right passed it in favor of streaming coverage of the gulf oil spill. BAYformers are a total bore. :thud:

yup! "hardly" is right. As in HARDLY any room left on the toy shelfs & pegs due to all the adult fans giving the film a "monetary middle finger" (which BTW proves once again adults & not children have the real buying power). Every thing I ever said about bayformers has come to fruition. His "poorly cast FX spell" wore off in mid triology like the date-rape drug wearing off half way through having you way with your victim (wow, my mind really dose go to dark places).

But you get my point. Bay will have to give the people (general & G1 fans alike) the modern equalivant of Star Wars 1st film to win back the audiance he so foolishly mislead. This time around his audiance will be a much harder sell.......& FX (as excellent as they may be), will not help him this time.

I thought it was hilarious when the writers distanced themselves from Mudflap and Skidz and basically blamed it all on Michael Bay.

I wonder if that's why they didn't come back for the third movie :) .

In the new set photos they've got pics of the twins, so apparently they are back.

Yeah but there was also set pics of Megan Fox. Those pics could be a joke and maybe they are in a cameo and get blown up.

It could mean anything but Bay did say they are gone and he was getting rid of all the DORKY humor.

Bay's an odd duck. With movies I sometimes get the sense that he takes the bad reviews and criticisms quite seriously. I think he's still upset Pearl Harbor didn't take off since I think in his mind that was supposed to be like his Titanic. And he ended up going back to Bad Boys after that.

Ironhide's been set on set once or twice, I think. Still the same truck as well, which makes him the only character who stayed the same through all movies. :lol

I heard two things on that, but both could be false.


1. The firetruck that was seen on set is Rodimus, though there have been rumors about him being Sentinel Prime as well.

2. The NASCAR trio are the Wreckers, with the red one being Hot Rod.

One of these two has to be true, though. There was a concept art cutout seen on set that looks a lot like Hot Rod: red head, helmet has that same basic shape, swept back crest)...Only things throwing it off are the red (orange?) eyes and the weird mouth.

This sounds like a pretty good guess to what the plot's gonna be:

Optimus Prime and the Autobots have become public figures. The humans do not trust them and, because of that, in addition to the Decepticon's apparent departure from planet Earth, N.E.S.T. is deactivated by the government.

The Decepticons, led by Megatron, regroup on the dark side of the Moon. Megatron plans to launch a full-scale attack against Earth to get revenge against the Autobots and the humans for past humilliations.

Sam Witwicky and Léo Spitz have graduated in college and get their first jobs. Sam also starts a relationship with Carly Simms, the personal assistant of a famous race car driver called Dylan.

Seymor Simmons has become rich by writing books about his experiences with Sector Seven.

Meanwhile, in Cybertron, Megatron's former battle strategist, Shockwave, has taken control of the Decepticon army and heads to Earth in search of something found by the americans on the Moon during the Cold War, which played a major part on the Space Race.

Shockwave and his Decepticons start a massive series of attacks on Earth, pinning the blame on the Autobots in order to drive them out of Earth and garantee that they won't interfere. Shockwave also makes sure that Megatron and the Decepticons still loyal to him won't get in his way.

The Autobots become public enemies, but N.E.S.T. still believes in their innocence. Led by Major William Lennox, Master Sargeant Robert Epps and Hardcore Eddie, a former combat buddy of Epp's father, N.E.S.T. decides to go against the government's orders and help the Autobots.

Fully aware of the threat represented by the Transformers, the government creates a program to weaponize Earth vehicles and turn them into weapons, which apparently gives birth to the Wreckers, a team of NASCAR cars whom later join the Autobots.

Sam, Carly, Léo, Simmons and Dylan are all dragged into the new battle, but, unlike the others, Dylan decides to betray Earth in order to garantee his own survival and try to scurry a way into the Decepticon ranks by helping them retreive the mysterious object Shockwave seeks for.

That sounds kinda stupid to have humans against the Autobots in the final chapter of the trilogy, that should have happened in the sequel. In ROTF the government already tried to make the Autobots leave Earth, and yet the Autobots saved Earth from the Decepticons. Who writes these damn scripts?

So they were filming some scenes this weekend 10 miles away from where I am in Washington, DC. Didn't get up to watch any of the filiming, but I guess a Metro PD Officer didn't get the memo of some of the road closings...

DC Cop Didn't Get the Memo

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A DC Police SUV slammed into a "Transformers 3" car while the movie was filming in SW Monday afternoon.
During the filming of the scene, in front of the American Indian Museum at 3rd Street and Maryland Avenue, SW, the K9 Unit, responding to a call, slammed into "BumbleBee," as that sports car from the film was driving through the intersection.
The area had been cordoned off by DC Police as part of a number of street closings to accommodate the film crews working in town this week. A number of people had gathered to watch the film being shot.
The collision occurred during the filming of a chase scene.
Both drivers walked away uninjured, and we believe the dog was also uninjured.

That poster is a pretty obvious fake. Shockwave is way too undetailed to be actual movie art, the red glow is a cheap photoshop effect, the Con logo looks terrible...And worst of all, it's not even centered probably. :lol No way would a professional studio make that kind of mistake.

I really, really doubt that Unicron's going to be in this. There's just way to much going on, and whatever's on the moon probably has nothing to do with the ol' planetmuncher.

I really hope they never do Unicron. At least not with the same group of creators. If they made Megatron and just about every other transformer look like junk metal, wait until they get their hands on Unicron. Sure as hell ain't gonna look anything like we're used to seeing. :(

Sadly, when I was a kid, I wished they would make "Transformers - The Movie" into a realistic version someday, and here we are. I'm not bashing the trilogy here, but I just really dislike all the designs. Optimus is probably the only one that looks well enough to come close to what we know him like. Even Devastator was horrible. And just to finish things off, the new title sounds like something they took off a Pink Floyd album. lol

I care, the movies are good popcorn fun. Not saying they are great movies, but they are fun and people are too hard on them. Guess people really haven't seen old G1 episodes. There was zero logic and piss-poor writing in those episodes as well. They gave us zero explanation how newer characters would show up in later episodes and gave us zero explanation how they departed from the series. It was a big 22 minute weekly commercial to sell the toys in the 1980's. Being able to relate these movies to their source material makes it easier to digest what we have. I wouldn't mind seeing it taken with a more serious approach, but I do think that the very detailed alien designs work vs. the G1 look in a real world. As for the writing... again, one just has to go back to the old G1 episodes.

I am stil baffled as to why the first movie was so tolerated yet the second one was bashed constantly, when they are more-or-less the same movie like your average candy coated shoot-em up special effects loaded Hollywood franchise is.

I never took the sequel seriously, and knowing the source material and their relation, made it easier to stomach vs. had it been an original stand-alone piece. So that's why it probably didn't have as big of a negative impact on me as it did with others. Make no misconception, without the source material, I probably wouldn't have been as generous as I have become. It's difficult enough to watch the old cartoons now as an adult and I am a G1 fan. One only has to see my collection, not to forget my decent collection of illustrations of Transformer characters through my childhood years. But I am not going to play a blind eye to the original G1 animated series. The saving grace was the cool character designs which were much improved upon in the cartoon and the comics. Then there was the very well done G1 animated motion picture that not only improved its episodic counterpart in animation, but also in story and writing. That will go down as one of the greatest gems from the 80's era.

But I am not going to play a blind eye to the original G1 animated series. The saving grace was the cool character designs which were much improved upon in the cartoon and the comics. Then there was the very well done G1 animated motion picture that not only improved its episodic counterpart in animation, but also in story and writing. Well...I've explained in the past that IMO Bay's view doesn't make sense with the source material... specially the toilet humor and complete disregard of the bots personalities and vehicle forms, that's what ruins it for me... Because people in general are a fickle bunch and its easy to gang on something when its a masses thing. Also, they forget the source material. I just find it amusing how many people enjoyed the first one and they are the same people who hated the sequel. I enjoyed the sequel more. It was a lot funnier.

The first was alright. The second was horrible because they overdid things to the point of stupidity.

OMG MOAR ROBOTS to the point that a bunch of generic background robots show up and the Constructicons are reused.

Trailer is going to go online at Apple today, 4pm pacific and 7pm east coast. Collider, IGN and a few other sites got a sneak first look at some of the footage and a chance to talk with Bay, though Collider's write up is the most extensive. It sounds like they learned from their mistakes and that this WILL be a better movie. Still have my doubts though; it's not exactly hard to do better then RotF, and I remember him talking about how great that movie was going to be, so we'll see if he delivers.

It was a ____ed scenario all the way around, it wasn’t fair to the writer, it wasn’t fair to me, it wasn’t fair to anybody. It was still an entertaining movie, but I think we failed on certain aspects. What we did with this movie is I think we have a much better script, and we got back to basics. I may have mixed feelings on the movies, but the soundtrack for both is absolutely stunning, and has some GREAT pieces. The two Optimus themes, Scorponok, Arrival to Earth, The Fallen's theme...I can listen to those for hours and never get tired of them. The ONLY problem with it is that there isn't an updated, orchestral G1 theme.

I thought he might be sincere when I saw the Apollo moon landing teaser a while back, but now it looks like more shaky cam robot fights where you can't tell who is who, with Shia running around screaming "No, no, no, no, no" but with a 'Gwen Stacy' blonde.

I think shaky-cam and slo-mo are overused, but Snyder with "Watchmen" was able to create a near page by page interpretation of the classic comic series, make it super character driven, awesome effects, and have heart, soul, etc. (Not to mention he cared about the source material.) Bay is an explosiong whore that hopes his explosions will overshadow is lack of ability of storytelling. You guys fail to realize, not ONE person in Hollywood does what he does. His action is pretty much the best these days. ____ Roland Emmerich. He never includes hot chicks. And his characters are too melodramatic. Snyder? Yeah, he's great. But he hasnt done mass destruction on Bay's scale yet. (Kinda with Watchmen....but only kinda).

Bay is the action king. You want plot, story...ect..? Watch something else. You want over the top action, explosions and hot girls, then this is the right place to be. Of course these movies suck. But they're so ____ing cool to watch.

Pearl Harbor had probably one of the best teaser trailers of all time. The music they used from The Thin Red Line was perfect. Too bad the movie was terrible.

These are unplug your brain movies in its finest form. Forget Shakespeare you're gonna get more depth in a Jonah Hill film than you will here. The first one was awesome, the second one far less so but still a popcorn flick and the third will probably be worse :lol I think Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a fantastic replacement for Megan Fox and I'm still praying for Rodimus of some kind since he was in and then cut from the first two by request of Hasbro. I can't wait to see the Optimus fanboys go insane by seeing him on screen.

Transformers 3's Optimus Prime Looks... Well... He Looks... Uh...

After I posted the stellar figure of Arcee from Hasbro's upcoming Transformers: Prime line, several other figures debuted on various sites: UGO had Starscream, IGN had Bumblebee, and AICN had Optimus, Megatron, and figures of those three horrible ____ing kids that make it impossible for me to take the show seriously, or even watch it. They all look good (except the kids, of course), although none of them look quite as great as Arcee.

Now, somewhere in the midst of all that hubbub, io9 got the first pic of Optimus Prime from the Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon line, which was sent to me by astute Topless Roboteer Ken T. The good news: Optimus has a trailer in his vehicle mode.

Yeah, noticed that in some screencaps that people took. First the wings fall off, then with every other Decepticon he takes down he loses another bit of battle armor. I really hope they slow that ____ down for the movie because it looks like it could be an epic action sequence, but the current speed just makes it impossible to make out what happens.
