Well, I have been sitting on this one long enough. Months now. Time to get the Gordon party started. I know most will be customs only, but they will be most likely seen here in the DC area, along with all the HT DK figures and such, as there should be many variant Gordons to come....Hope so any way...

FML GORDON

I had a chance to both photograph my own custom one, and make a video for YouTube of it with some of my others, so I went ahead and did so to catch some of the post Oscars, Heath win, third HT Joker announcment excitement fever.

So, here is my Gordon. I went with a blend of BB and DK looks, not wanting a specific either, so I could have my generic Gordon, either Lieutenant, or Commissioner.

and an even older closeup shot of the paint for good measure...

My Gordon components:
Head, Spencer sculpt and glasses, painted by Les Walker
Body, hands Dragon, hands painted by Les Walker
Shirt, dyed HT Clark Kent
Pants, 2nd Clark Kent. Has appropriate frumpy look to me...
Coat, a lucky find in my fodder bin. No inner jacket...yet...
Belt and gear, various, including DID HK cop and cop cap badge remounted on belt (needs proper decals for GCPD)
Tie, HT CK. Will be getting another one soon, but I liked the color with this set.
Shoes, repainted Dragon shoes
45 & Cop radio, DID
Base reworked HT DK stand, nametag coming.

KUDOS to Spencer for his amazingly satisfying sculpt. :rock

So, what do YOU have for YOUR Gordon?

Awesome, just awesome. Les, because of you and others like Dark Artist, Sovereign Studios, C.Howes, Spencer and a whole lot out here, I have almost completely no longer care for "Official" made figures and so into Customs. I even started to learn how to repaint figures as well. You're a great inspiration and that is an awesome Jim Gordon. Thanks for the pics and hope to see more.

Awesome, Les! Yes!

Here's my WIP Gordon. Les will paint my Spenser head. The jacket will be dyed charcoal grey and be "above knee" length.

http://i78.photobucket.com/albums/j88/pjam07/agor.jpg

So far:

Brown Did pants.
Dragon "short" body
Project Are gray shirt and green pattern tie.
Patton Trench Coat - belt and loops already removed
BBi Cop keys, belt. Not pictured - radio, pen, flashlight...

I will pick up brown leather shoes, add a badge and voila! I have a 45 somewhere too I think.

Looking good Pjam. The badges are out there. I used one from a cop cap from sometime back. I have a couple more if need be. There are badges on the cops also. Love the earth tone versions of him in contrast to the other characters. Looking good. Ironman, you need some parts. Let me know if I can help you. (Knowing you, you have a ton of fodder bits!)

Amazing work Les!!! I have the Spencer head and it's amazing, though I need to get it painted by one of our resident professionals. I put him on Sideshows medium body and used Fox Mulders' clothes. It's okay for the time being but need to get a trench coat or over coat to complete the look.

Wow Les! As it does not appear anywhere near complex as some of your other customs, this is by far my favorite custom you have done! Spencer's sculpt looks great with your paint work, the whole figure is exactly what you would want for a Nolan Gordon. Amazing work!

Thanks all you guys. Thanks Calvarenga for the kind words about inspiration.
I understand the inspiration part of it all. This figure really is a good one for a group enthusiasm too. To see all the various versions to come. I wanna see a SWAT one too. But thanks and I read you loud and clear!

I had this one finished for so long, but I tell ya, when he was done, back in...when was it? I don't know, last year some time, anyway, I couldn't stop looking at him. Not because I did anything, just because it was so satisfying to have GORDON in among my DK guys. I hope you guys get one too. It makes the set so much more rounded.

And wherever Spencer is, he needs to heed the call of the legions now...get with it Steven! Your fans await! :rock

Thanks. I am very happy with him for some reason too. It just works.
A testament to the role and to Gary Oldman? Must be. Plus, I love Gordon.

I did have the long trench coat from the same HT Clark Kent as the pants, but after seeing his shorter coat in so many scenes in both BB and DK, I realized a trench was not quite right. The mid-thigh length coat is better, and it is grey. Not exactly what I used, as it has shoulder flaps and all, but I had this one, and look at that fit! I was just...that's it! So, he works for me.

Gonna be some cool figures coming here! I can tell! :rock

BR Joker suit

shoes (dont know will look at it at the end and decide which colour)
handcuffs
gun with holster (does anybody know a better holster than the one from triad?)
NYPD badge which I still have to glue on a little wallet

Still searching for a brown jacket such as the one from Elvis and a dark blue / dark grey tie.

hey guys - quick question, was just checking up on Gary Oldman's height so I could maybe get a more accurate scale body for him standing next to the HT Batman / Joker / Harvey etc.

So I found that Bale's height is about 6'0, Ledger was about 6'1, and Eckhart is 5'11.

But Gary Oldman is significantly shorter at 5'9. Are there any slightly shorter 1/6 scale bodies out there? It would need to be compatible with Spenser's HS in terms of the neck joint etc. (i really don't know much about these things, fairly new to the 1/6 world)

Appreciate any suggestions! Thanks

im not sure man. depending on what you dress gordan in might dictate what body you use. you can have it all planned but then when it doesnt look good. you stray from it til it does! as of now. i have mine on the body that came with the saturday suits. with his dark knight look, the jacket i customized looked like a kid wearing his dads coat. it never hurts to have extra bodies laying around anyways. i usually get my dragon 12" from monkey depot. good luck fellas! ill post pics when my spenser gordan head arrives! along with alfred :)

none of the customs here are good enough to deserve a spot next to my HT TDK collection, IMO.

Judging from his work from pics, I think only kojun's custom is worthy of that holy spot. And in my tumbler, when its release, that is.

Well I can somewhat see where you're coming from as I myself have had reservations about many head sculpts for completing my TDK collection because they were just not up to the HT TDK line standard, that said, the Spenser Gordon and Alfred are in my opinion, right up there with HT quality in terms of sculpt. Getting a great painjob on them is the challenging bit, along with good quality clothing which is somewhat movie accurate but more importantly fits well and represents the characters well. That's what I am struggling with at the moment, but I'm sure i'll get there...

a) HT throws us a friggin bone as one of their 'surprise' bonus.

B) get a custom made kojun ones

Or c) that one of you here actually makes one that's worthy enough, and that its available for sale. I'm sure there will be one, someday.

I'm sure if it has passed my strict, close to perfection QC, it will do more than enough to put next to your HT figures.

I'm sorry if I had offended you by any of my remarks.

Wow. Let's see your Gordon so we can judge if it is good enough to put next to our HT figures.

hey cerealkeller i customized it. it was a gi joe army jacket. i took off the big zipper and wrist snaps. dipped the coat in water and paint and it didnt take.
so i used brown acrylic paint and rubbed it in with my fingers while the coat was wet. it looks awesome. hard, but oh well. it actually can be posed.
i was going to add a small in scale black zipper and maybe that strap around the neck. but this is fine for me. it even has the epulets (sp?) on the shoulder.

I consider myself pretty picky. For my Batman, between Medicom, Takara, and HT, i picked HT. Between HT's BB and TDK, I picked TDK.
But there are some customizers on this board that while i can never meet or surpass their skill, you can't really say "worthy" and then backtrack and say it's not meant to offend. Our own personal skill is irrelevant since we're not doing the custom. That being said, there are so many other ways to say something even when the intent is not meant to be ill-willed.

In whatever case, if HT -was- to come out with a Gordon, and if for some unknown reason the Gordon was not as close to the screen likeness as Oldman, or something was off, that negates the HT statement.

A custom made Kojun would be cool as evident by the other works, but the other works displayed also showed the lead, and while i'm not aware too much on Kojun's items other than those already mentioned, i don't think there will be a Kojun Gordon.

That leaves us with option 'C', which then makes the statement sound "uppity". Rather than saying 'worthy', it would probably come across better by saying "your distinct standards or preferences".

Between Elvis, Les, Sovereign, Spenser, DA, etc... there's a hella lot of talent on here that can do an excellent version of Gordon.

The jacket is a Gi Joe Patton Dyed Dark Gray by a Friend. I shortened it by using double stick tape and folded it up as a temp measure. I snipped all the loose threads, painted the buckles black, painted the threads, etc. I may shorten it more but I'll wait until his brown leather shoes come in and size it up again. Green pattern tie and gray dress shirt from Project ARE. Pants DiD. Will be adding Police badge, already have the Walkie Talkie, Cell phone and a flashlight from the Bbi NYPD. Spenser head will be painted by Les so he'll be ready to fight Crime soon. :blackbat

Here's a last shot a bit more futzed because I felt embarrassed posting a pic thanking the Futz King with an unfutzed Jacket. :lol Anyway, you can see the sides match much better here.

BTW, the coat was dyed with a Pearl Gray, then re-dyed to a much darker tone. What I like is you can see some of the blue tinting in it as well in certain angles and light.

Dont think so... Be patient or better: buy both. I will hopefully buy Spenser's Gordon and Alfred this month and the Howes' set when it is finished... One head will be regular Gordon, the other for the SWAT outfit.

BTW Have you realized how hard it is to get a decent movie accurate SWAT outfit? I has to be all black. Hot Toys, Sat Toys and Very Hot are blue though... :duh

I thought about inking it but am not sure how the finished project will look in that case... I doubt it will turn out black but more a very dark blue... Any suggestions?

http://www.war-toys.com/images/products/JohnSteele/beltwithpistol.jpg

Just picked one of these up on ebay. Tough to find loose... but here are some... and they include the clips. They are Dragon A295, either FA295 or PA295...

http://cgi.ebay.com/FA295-1-6-HOT-Silver-Pistol-w-h-Magazine-Toys_W0QQitemZ220397662076QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item220397662076&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

So, just paint it black and you'll have a terrific representationof the SW Gordon used...

what is DID

Dragon in Dreams - typically written "DiD". They are a 1/6th manufacturer that typically makes WWII figures. They are not related to Dragon, another 1/6 manufacturer sometimes referred to as DML.

I'm very disappointed in members that won't answer a simple question from someone new to the hobby. It speaks ill of the entire community when something like this happens.

To suggest someone do a search on the an expression like "Did" which would never return anything remotely useful is the height of rudeness.

1.) suit was black

2.) there is absolutly no accurate bulletproof. You need one that is clear on the front and can catch a radio on the back... The closest I have found is the ToyBiz Punisher.

But I found his gun and bought it in a heartbeat. :rock ( 270235809231; there is another one on ebay too which has some bullets included)

I just checked the pics again and realized that the bulletproof isnt that hard to get. It is a simple bullet proof with no extras. It reads SWAT all over the back and on the left front. The radio is attached to the belt and on his left shoulder. So all you need is:

pants and shirt (black)
kneepads
bullet proof
Super 90
SWAT boots
sport glasses or his common ones (he wears both in that scene :lol)
black belt with holster for his sidearm and radio
radio
sidearm (I would suggest to use his S&W or a Glock 17 as these are used by the police men. Both seem to be wrong but I couldn figure out which one it is as I have only one clear pic of it being in the holster...)

The Glasses i believe are etched brass, they came with spenser's fantastic sculpt (http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42967).
The Keys, radio & cuffs are from a BBI or Dragon figure.
The first pair of shoes are from a HT Prison Break Figure and the 2nd pair are Golgo13 Duke Togo's. I'm gonna put the 1st pair back on him though, as i don't really like Duke's on Gordon

:)

Wait, umm can you tell me what a BBI figure is?
And is there a specific one it came with?

BBI = Blue Box International (http://www.blueboxtoys.com/p2/product_bbi.htm)
i don't remember the exact figure , but you might try war-toys.com or monkeydepot.com for the parts.

I'm surprised nobody has made any diorama's yet. Well some full blown spectacular ones. Since we have almost all vehicles, interrogation scene, Bat signals soon, Gordon, what else is missing...

Somebody sure will have a nice small display with Gordon/Batman and the bat signal and perhaps Harvey.

I have plans for a rooftop scene dio which will include Gordon, Batman (original costume) and Harvey, plus batsignal from 1mod6. Need to figure out the base and details etc.

Add to that the ready made interrogation scene dio from zahal.. and then will figure something out for the batpod and rest of the characters.. need a separate freakin room for my TDK plans lol

Vehicles?

And ahhh it would be so coo to have the scene where Batman, Gordon, and Dent are on the rooftop with the batsignal!!

Commisioner Gordon is about 97% done. Spencers scupt is great, but the cast I received wasn't in very good shape, so I did what I could.

Most of the outfit is from the Golgo13 Duke Togo figure, and i've tried to stick with Hot Toys parts where possible.

Body = True Type (Narrow...for now)
Shirt, Suit, Underpants, Socks, Belt & Trenchcoat = Duke Togo
Shoes = Prison Break Lincoln Burrows
Tie = Saturday Toys Tan Suit Set

S&W Pistol, Holster, Keys, Cuffs, Radio, Badge, Watch & Pen = Dragon/BBI

Nice work titan, looking good.

Evil, you should PM Steven and get a new head for free. Steven's had problems with his castings and roughed finish sculpts, and is making amends now but that is absolutely unacceptable. PM him with a pic. I'm sure he'll take care of you.

I am just getting into the Hot Toys Batman line and I keep seeing all these cool mods and head sculpts. Where can I go to find out more about these mods and pick up the sculpts etc.
