I sent one, and only one. I have a feeling if they keep seeing the same people e-mailing over and over then the people that are new sending in requests for The Crow will be over looked or just deleted.

This threads a bit of fun to raise awareness about a figure we'd like to see, not to start name calling between Freaks:peace

I know being called a "dummy" is hardly name calling, but it made me think... This thread has raise some very different opinions, all of which are valid.
Seems to me, most of the posters fall into one of three catagories;
1) Let's send loads of emails in the small chance that it might help get the figure made, while bumping this thread to give others an opportunity to discuss.
2) Emails are a waste of time, but it ain't hurtin' no-one.
3) Pestering HT repeatedly is detrimental to the cause and will result in the figure being delayed/not made.
Personally I fall into number one. Don't see there being any harm in it and who knows, it might help.
To all of you in group number two - Let's agree to differ, if this thread bugs you whenever it appears on page 1, ignore it. It'll soon drop back to page 3 where it has a small warm place it resides in most of the time!
To everyone in group three... Your concerns are more important. If I felt that way this thread would really annoy me. However in response I would like to point out that I have been sending emails via Hot Toys own feedback page on their website. Nowhere does it say "Only one email per person per topic" They are actively requesting feedback. We are giving it.
If anyone from Hot Toys would like to reply asking me (or anyone else) to stop, believe me I would immediately!
I'm well aware that the emails most likely end up in the junk, but if there is a chance they might get through and do some good and while there is no evidence to the opposite, as far as I'm aware, I see no harm in continuing.
These forums are great. I have a lot of fun posting and reading all your comments. At the end of the day I'd like to see a Crow figure made, but I'm not loosing any sleep over it!
Now, back to real world and working on Bank Holiday!:banghead Bye!!!!:grouphug

I don't think we've sent enough to be in their spam mail. If we loaded them everyday with tons and tons then I see that happening. But we've sent maybe like 5 or 6 each over like 2 months? So I think they may think we're old news but I don't think they spammed us. Especially since we are getting new ppl to join and send e-mails.

Who knows maybe one of the Important people over at Hot Toys will see one of the many e-mails in the spam folder and maybe that one will be the one that gets them to do it. Who knows crazyer things have happed. But its all in good fun, Its a dream figure on mine (ours) so can let this thread or hope fade away. :rock:rock:rock

Not calling any names I just think we have a better chance of sending one or two e-mails a month instead of repeating it several times a week. For anyone who has ever worked in a customer service position, they know that if someone pesters them over and over for the same thing, sooner or later they begin to ignore it. It's kind of like the boy who cried wolf, several people keep repeatedly sending the same request. So the new people who might be the ones who get them to finally say "we better try and make this figure" get ignored. For Example; I'm sure someone out there is pestering a toy company over and over for a Greg Brady Johnny Bravo figure, and I'm sure the company has been ignoring the hell out of them for 30 years.
I know being called a "dummy" is hardly name calling, but it made me think... This thread has raise some very different opinions, all of which are valid.

Never cared for the Prodigy. Talking about hair though i did have a Mohawk for a short while in my teen years.
The Crow was actually the movie that got me started listening to rock and alternative music in 1994. The first band i bought an album from was NIN because i bought the fantastic Crow soundtrack and started listening to some of the bands featuring on it.

Hi - I agree. I'm a huge fan of the film "THE CROW" and someone should put out an Eric Draven figure with 2 heads (clown make-up and clean face). Brandon was a star in his own right and he should be honored with a high class figure. I'm getting a little tired of the lunch boxes and toys!
Please put out an Eric Draven figure....The Crow is a masterpiece!!!

Yeah, because "Terminator: Salvation" sure stopped Diamond Select and NECA from releasing all that "T2" stuff.
The merchandising rights to "The Crow" don't belong to a movie studio, they belong to a specific merchandising operation called Crowvision Inc and there will never be a time when Lee/Draven merch isn't #1 on their bread-and-butter list. Never, and short of having a relatively-unknown actor appearing in the remake in a genre-transcending performance with the lurid infamy of an on-set death there will never be an actor more associated in the role.

Never, and short of having a relatively-unknown actor appearing in the remake in a genre-transcending performance with the lurid infamy of an on-set death there will never be an actor more associated in the role.
here's how i look at it. the new movie will inevitably suck *****. the internet is in uproar that there even is a remake, and crow fans like us are puking over the decision - it's spitting on brandon's legacy. the production company know this and would be shooting themselves massively in the foot if they now allowed more original crow stuff out there. it'll just serve to remind people what a mistake this whole remake project is. they're probably going to want to hype the new version as much as possible, steering it away as much as possible from the old one. it's probably why norrington has changed to describing this fiasco as a "reboot" rather than a "remake". it's all about distance.
so whether crowvision own the rights outright or not, i imagine they were probably given some incentive not to license anything till the new movie is out, watched by millions, and officially panned.
in a related rant, norrington has made one good movie in my opinion. the idiot probably sat there watching "dark knight" like so many other yahoo directors and thought i'll aim for realism in my next comic book film. the thing is, it takes someone very talented to pull it off and still make a decent movie. and norrington doesn't have it. shame on that talentless schmohawk to remake this. i'm sick to my stomach over it. not only is he so low that he wants to remake something as recent as 1994, he's remaking something that can't be improved upon. and worst of all, this movie should always be what people remember brandon by, as he was most proud of it. he loved this movie. he's proving what a nobber he really is by putting someone else in the role of eric draven. rant over.

and IMHO, Diamond Select and Neca were probably allowed to release T2 stuff coz it directly relates to the storyline in T4. T4 was a continuation of the franchise. and the production company probably didn't see T2 as a threat as much as the original Crow is to the new one. In fact drawing attention to the most successful part of the franchise probably helped garner interest for T4. despite any reservations people had, i think generally people were looking forward to a new terminator movie. not so with the new crow.
whatever man. basically norrington, the ballsack, is not only ruining a great movie, BUT HE'S PREVENTING US FROM SEEING A BRANDON LEE CROW FIGURE ANYTIME SOON!!!!!! damn you, norrington. damn you all to hell!!

so whether crowvision own the rights outright or not, i imagine they were probably given some incentive not to license anything till the new movie is out, watched by millions, and officially panned.
Which is why NECA's current Cult Classics line has another Lee/Draven re-hash.
It's funny how people are just making stuff up to justify why this figure is "impossible", especially when that stuff flies in the face of common sense.
If anything this figure doesn't exist because contrary to popular belief Hot Toys is probably not beating down the door to the rights holders of every fan-requested property and vice-versa. If you could get all the necessary parties in a room and they could make the dollars and cents work there's no doubt that a figure of Brandon Lee as Eric Draven is within the realm of possibility, I just don't know if Hot Toys sees it as viable.
There's also the issue re: Crowvision's apparently-lax attitude about the quality of product they approve. There's good reason to believe that they're more interested in some no-name company putting out t-shirts and ashtrays for Hot Topic than a high-end figure company.
But yeah, there's absolutely no precedent whatsoever for an upcoming franchise entry making previous incarnations off-limits. That's just retarded, period.
There's certainly no precedent in the Crow franchise. They tried releasing non-Lee merchandise ONCE (with Vincent Perez and "City of Angels") and it all tanked. Ever since it's been all Lee. Did they make merchandise featuring Mark Dacascos? No. Eric Mabius? No. Edward Furlong? No. None of those failed attempts had any effect on the steady stream of merchandise based on the first film and I don't expect the new one to either, but then again I don't expect it to be released in theaters either.

Wow, my friends were just discussing this past weekend about the weird death of Brandon. I still think there is something fishy. Someone's sick twisted mind wanted to duplicate the Game of Death scene where Bruce gets killed while filming a movie within a movie. Somebody used live ammunition on the set and killed him. Of course, he didn't die, and proceeded to kick butt in the pagoda. Anyway, I know I've read there were no live ammunition that killed Brandon. But I still have this feeling in my gut that someone knew what they were doing. Either that, or this is one un-freaking-believable coincidence.

It's apparently from last December's (hence the "Merry Christmas" in the image?) Hot Toys 10 Year Anniversary Exhibition in Tokyo. The hair leads me to believe this isn't an actual prototype by any means, but maybe it's a sign that we'll get this figure afterall? ...that is, as long as this isn't some amateur Photoshopper's joke on all Crow/Hot Toys fans. Obviously the 2011 date is bunk, as well. I would LOVE a Hot Toys Crow though! Let's hope it happens! Til then, the 18" NECA figure is as good as it gets for me.

I would be down for this as well. They should expand on the mythos. I never understood why the movies after Brandon's all felt they had to remain in the modern era. How awesome would a Crow film set in Feudal Japan or the Wild West have been? The premise is like Assassin's Creed, why limit it to just one period of history. The Crow could literally happen at any time.

The grunge era just works so well for the character and narrative. Plus the comic on which the film was based was written in the '80s, so my guess is that's how James O'Barr wanted the story to be told.

As daft as it sounds, I'd pick up the Crow from the 3 sequels as well. Don't get me wrong, none of the films have matched up to the original, but I do like the designs of the Crow, especially from 2 and 3, and wouldn't mind having them in a mini Crow collection.
