From Bowen himself:
Besides Thors hammer, there are other items that will be part of the base. Among them (all battle damged):
- Caps sheild
- Black Knights sword
- Iron Mans face plate
- Ultron bits
- and other mechanincal shrapnel

I like it but I don't have any interest in the character.

No doubt this one will look awesome like most of the other Bowen pieces, but I have found my niche with HH. With the exception of the upcoming Bowen Rogue FS, all of my Marvel will be SS and HH.

I'm with Oxbeard. HH has really caught my attention. I like Bowens statuary but Seth Vandable's style has me buying lots of statues since his line debuted. And Sideshow as well. I don't know what it is but the HH statues have some kind of Kirby vibe going on or something.

Hard Hero's is nice BUT I prefer the Bowen Hawkeye esp with that base.

I completely understand Viking. It has really surprised me because normally when we start compairing companies it comes down to differences and debates about quality. But with HH and Bowen it is more in the presentation. Both companies stuff is very high quality but there is just such a difference in presentation that it's like they are in completely different 'genres'.
I have always liked checking out people's marvel FS and MB from Bowen and DST for that matter, but aside from SS PF stuff, I never really had the desire to start a collection for myself. But HH has really sucked me in. I just can't get enough of Seth's style, not taking anything away from Randy or any of the other BD sculptors, but Seth's stuff just 'speaks' to me differently. Heck, I'm even working toward being a completist the HH line, which is something I've would have never even thought of before.

Same here, I love BD's stuff and own several FS pieces. But, like Oxbeard, I have the Surfer and have all the rest on pre-order. Thor is coming any day now.

Hold on a minute. The hard hero stuff is nice? I have never seen any of their pieces in person yet. I kind of thought they were a poor mans Bowen company. This kind of shocks me as I know Oxbeard and Viking have pretty hardcore taste when it comes to this stuff. I am pretty much a diehard Bowen collector. Are there any HH pieces that you strongly recomend? I would buy one to try out the company and see the goods in person. Name their strongest piece.
And I kind of thought the HH hawkeye looks a little deformed. The body seems off to me. But then again i only saw one picture. let me know guys

ras, actually this HH marvel line is just getting started. Only 2 pieces currently out. Silver Surfer was their first piece and is still available on eBay but won't be for long with only 500 regular and 100 AP's. The newer releases are limited 1000 regular and 100 AP's. Thor is the second in the series and is just now shipping. Hopefully mine will be here next week.
I definitely wouldn't consider them a poor man's Bowen since they are still around $200 a pop. It seems that most people will acknowledge the detail and great design from both companies but when it comes down to actually owning the pieces people are on completely opposite sides of the fence. This is very understandable when you see the actual differences.
Basically what it boils down to is that most all of the BD pieces look as if they are 'real life' sculpts whereas HH has a more comic flavor to them. When I look at them it's like opening the pages to one of my comics. That's my attraction to them. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but it's exactly what I have been looking for in a marvel collectible. Admittedly an easier descision for me too, since I haven't been commited to collected BD already, so I'm not making a drastic change in companies either.
Yeap, the HH stuff is very very clean, and in now way a poor man's Bowen as each piece runs in the $200 range. I have only select pieces on order, but thats not to say there items are not top notch.

I know they are pricey but so are the D.C. statues. I guess when i say poor mans version I mean by the quality. Now I think the Bowen Surfer statue has got to be one of the nicest statues I own. You think HH compares to it? If so im going to buy it and take a shot. If i dont like it then banished to ebay it will be

It's all a matter of taste and we all know how subjective that is in the collecting community. As was said about style, Bowen is more realistic in style and HH leans more toward comic art in style.
One thing I really like about HH is the texture their statues have. I guess it's more from the paint used but it's nifty. I don't know how to describe it though.
I've got the BD Surfer and the HH Surfer. I love them both and if asked I would find it hard to choose one over the other. They are just 2 different styles. I almost didn't get the HH version from pics I saw of it but once I got it out of the box I was really happy. It's got that retro Kirby-ish vibe to the pose and texture. And it's HUGE.
I've got Conan, Red Sonja, all the X-Men Evolution Maquettes and Silver Surfer from HH and they are tops in my collection.
DCD statues are kind of like DST, there are a few good ones but the level of quality is VERY hit and miss, usually more on the miss end of things.
Ras, get the surfer from HH, great quality, I recommended it to Ox and he has been overjoyed with it...

You got that right!!! Best advice Azog has ever given me :clap :D
And now I'm hooked!! Like Moebius said though it is difficult to know what one person is going to like and another isn't with collectibles, but I really think HH will be worth the gamble for you.
