This is the figure that comes with the Lorica Segmentata Cuirass. From what I've heard it's a bit of a disappointment. The Segmentata is plastic I think because it would weigh too much, and it's not fully segmented. It comes in three pieces a front and back half and a upper shoulder armor half. The shoulder armor however looks to be made from four pieces, a front and back half and two separate shoulder pieces.
Still, it looks pretty cool and I couldn't pass one up!
Mine will be in my hands by the end of the week! :banana

That's the one with the wolf pelt? It's interesting but I wish they had done it better. If they made it from a foe small scale fur and flocked the head and paws I wouldn't pass it up.

Ordered a couple of these. I'm really digging Rome on HBO, I see a Pulo in the future...

I got mine on Wednesday. It's nice but there's a few things that I didn't like. the head seems smaller then previous Ignite heads. This causes the helmet to not sit on his head very well and look too big. The cuirass is kept together by two clear rubber bands, I've cut one off not knowing it was necessary to keep the armor halves together. I tried to put the cuirass armor on the figure without the rubber bands and it doesn't stay on very well. The joint on the cuirass is a long channel in one edge of one half and a long ridge on the other, they snap together pretty seamlessly but without the rubber bands they can come apart easily.
The shoulder armor is a bit better then I had expected, the plates aren't fully separated but there are a few separate pieces. The first three plates on the outside of the shoulder are one piece, then a single plate piece, then the center portion of the armor around the chest, back, and neck is one whole piece.
They all articulate on one side (left or right side) by a two small pegs that can be seen on the front and back of the armor as the outer two roundels on the chest and back portions of the armor.
Some of the edges of the plates of the shoulder piece are a little rough, and they could've been better. The shoulder armor just floats on the body and isn't fastened in any way. Because the chest, back, and neck portion of the shoulder armor is one piece with no joints, you'll have to remove the head if you want to get the armor on and off the figure. I suspect that's why the head is so small in the first place, so that when it was soft and pliable they could squeeze the shoulder armor over the head when they were assembling him.

His belt doesn't hold the cuirass together in fact, it needs one of the clear rubber bands to stay up on the armor; this is the second rubber band that needs to stay on the figure to hold the cuirass together. Without the rubber band the cuirass can come apart and the belt will fall off.
The good news is that the groin protector (those hanging straps with small buttons on them that end in small spade like points) is made out of foe leather and real metal buttons and metal spade points.
The few things that are different about this figure then previous ones are that the helmet doesn't have the four roundels at the temples and most of the gold colored plastic doesn't have that shinny electroplating that was on the other Roman figures. The only items that have gold electroplating is the scabbard of the small pugio dagger and the gold plates on his belt.
It's a nice figure but should've been done much better.

Recieved mine last week. I swapped out the Ignite body for a Dragon body used originaly for the German flame thrower. Man he looks ticked off and looks much better with the new body.

Usually he posts these things himself, but I guess I'll beat him to it this time:

Good review, as always; thanks Mike :joy

Michael did post a link to his review in the General forum. That was mostly due to the other review of Hot Toy's "The Director" in the same post.
If you want an Idea how much Hot Toys has improved over the years, check out that review but stay away from the figure, it looks terrible in person.

Yeah, that's an awesome custom!
I've been looking at the armor, and it doesn't seem to difficult to make out of real metal and fully articulated. I'm going to ask my Stepfather if he could make me one, he's very skilled with metal.
