I am going to a Halloween party sponsered by
my brothers store and I am trying to come up with
a decent genre costume.
I am leaning toward Scully in a suit and trench coat
or perhaps Autopsy Scully. Have to find some scrubs
and a white lab coat.
I don't want a store bought outfit because they are
basically all alike.
Ideas , thoughts ... or from the ladies costume ideas
that you have worn for Halloween.

:blackbat

I'm hoping to be Leeloo from The 5th Element this year. We'll see if that works out. I always have big plans for Halloween and then end up not having enough time to follow through :(

Scully would be cool. Or I also think Illyria from Angel would be super cool:

Those colored contacts are fairly easy to find on the internet.

EDIT: I forgot all about Dark Willow!

Hmmm... Dark Willow may be way easier than either Leeloo or Illyria, may have to be her instead.... I love Halloween :D

I can see you as Dark Willow or Illyria but
after reading the post from Pitchin
I can see why leeloo would be a problem if you don't look good in pieces
of tape.

I thought the trench coat or scrubs would be perfect to hid a less
than perfect body. Plus Scully is short and so am I.
I am always coloring my hair different shades of red (my nick is based
on the X-files episode Jose Chungs From Outer Space when a character
says Scully's hair was red too red.)
If I go as autopsy Scully I would need an alien or body parts to carry with me
or perhaps an alien in a jar.

Go as Leeloo from The 5th Element but in the outfit of your Leeloo picture not the white thing.

Hoping for more feedback and ideas

I hope that some of you will throw out your ideas for halloween costumes
I am sick of the tired costumes you can get at the stores. Same old, same old.
So far for me Autospy Scully is the most likely but I am open to suggestions.

I was not planning on the "bandages" look. HOLY CRAP what was that girl thinking???? :horror Thanks a lot Pitchin, now I can't get that picture out of my head :sick

The orange-suspender look from the first pic is more like it. Like I said though, I always have big plans but no follow through... especially when it concerns something that takes a lot of work to accomplish :D

I run a web site for my brother and last Halloween

at his party I went as a ....

Web mistress.

Yeah so original
But it was fun, I wore a sprarkly dress, spider gloves,
Spider cape and a mask.
This year I want something fairly original and easy to put together

Good luck Dusty

I hope you put something together
I love Leeloo's look in the orange suspenders.

" I always have big plans for Halloween and then end up not having enough time to follow through."

I would hope so. Especially in a store bought costume. Following through is something you need to give yourself time for, or you'll get constipated. Prunes will get things moving, in the right direction, for you. :winkpumpk

A baby in a plastic bag is probably too off for you. Paint your face blue, plastic bag with plenty of holes, those bloodshot bug eyes from the store, a singlet and a nappy, just in case you follow through. Worked for me at a costume party. I have no idea what is expected of Halloween. The party I went to specified 'off'.

Speaking of Halloween, here's some costumes if anyone is interested...

LOOK HERE

These aren't mine and I'm not affiliated with the seller but I thought I'd pass it on. :)

Final Decision has been made... sort of

At this point in time I have decided to be Wednesday Addams.
I found a walking hand that I can use as thing, a black dress with
buttons (from Value Village)that I can put white cuffs and collar on and
I just need a black wig with pig tales. I need a headless doll and that will complete the costume. Gave up on Scully because I would spend all
night explaining who I was supposed to be.
Hubby is going as a scary monster with glowing eyes.
He didn't seem interested in finding a costume until he saw
the mask. Then he was very much into the costume.
I said I would tell everyone that he was Wednesday's
cousin Repulsive.
I will post pictures after the event so those who are
interested can see how things turned out

Thanks Creech

I had to look Bonza up in an Aussie
Slang Dictionary.
You learn something new everyday.

Omg, there's an Aussie slang dictionary. :horror Here it's not slang. We call our language Strine. Which is kind of phonetic for Australian. Good way to practice your Aussie accent. It takes practise. A few too many beers helps the slurrring. I did have a problem posting the word Bonza. Did you know a post must be ten letters or more? I had to include the mummy just to make a posting. lol.

Btw, I found this quote and wondered if this is where you derived your sig.
"The place is here. The time is now. and the journey into the shadows that we're about to watch could be our journey." Twilight Zone by any chance?

I love the idea of Wednesday Adams. Too cool. Go girl. Maybe you could make up a fake guillotine to decapitate your dolls head. Just to get you into the mood.

I couldn't find an online Australian slang dictionary with "bonza" in it - I looked through the first 5-6 that came up on Google... so what's it mean?

And Wednesday Addams is a GREAT costume idea!! I haven't done much with my ideas yet, so I'll probably just be dressing up as SideshowDusty... booooorrrrrring.

It's okay Dusty. I don't know who wrote these dictionaries, but it is spelt Bonza, not Bonzer. It means ripper, great. I don't have a clue where it comes from, maybe something like a shortening of Bonanza.

You know Dusty, you could wear a gown as go as Sideshow Chris. :D

Have fun.
