Cards on the table time, folks!

Are you ordering GGr or not???? :mwaha

Put aside the doubts, become the collector you were meant to be. :lol

I'm in!

04-23-2005, 01:39 PM
I am so there ~ no doubt about it. If I miss this one I will be more then upset, more then sad...I would get stabby' if you get my drift :P

04-23-2005, 01:48 PM
Yeah......where do I sign?

If there ain't an exclusive I'm off the one of the nices dealers for a discount

04-23-2005, 01:59 PM
Sign me up for the 250 exclusive.

04-23-2005, 02:16 PM
I'll probably be ordering this. I'm hoping for an exclusive, though. :clap

04-23-2005, 02:38 PM

One of Nine
04-23-2005, 02:41 PM
NOT! I won't pay $300+ for a SW's minor character :eek

04-23-2005, 02:41 PM
I'm in line! No doubt about it! Gonna be a GREAT figure!! :yay :ted

04-23-2005, 02:44 PM
I don't have the money, I don't have the space, I have no idea if he's a interesting character (aside from just looking cool)...

....but, yeah, I'll buy him....:bang

04-23-2005, 02:51 PM
What is this..."money"...you speak of? :lol :lol :lol

I don't have the money or space either. But I'm thinking this is gonna be a kick-ass figure and it's Star Wars AND it's Sideshow AND I gotta have it! :banana :p

I'll figure that "money" thing out later! :\ :bang2 :doh :rollin

04-23-2005, 02:52 PM
Is he up for pre order?? Like I said earlier he is nice but that price is still a issue, so no Allegiance is formed for me.
And if I do happen to place a pre order for him doesnt mean I will end up keeping him. I think SDCC we are going to see even more Star Wars 1/4s and I would drop the General faster than a rock for a Dark Anakin, Clone Trooper/Commando, Ben, Slave Leia, either Fetts, Jedi Luke ect.
To me he is a very awesome looking 1/4, but he is more of a order were if I have the money at that time to get him yea ok. But if something else is coming out then I wouldnt think twice about cancelling it.

04-23-2005, 04:07 PM
Pretty much what dstephan said. :dunno :thud :rock

Problem is, I'll be in transit Friday until midnight eastern so hopefully I don't miss out if it's going to be released Friday as an exclusive with a very low ES.

04-23-2005, 05:19 PM
Consider my allegiance sworn.

Bring on the 250 ES Exclusive.:rock

04-23-2005, 05:48 PM
Will I be ordering General Grievous?!

Hell Yes! :banana :carrot :banana :carrot

Without a doubt! :rock

Without hesitation! :yay

Without money. :\ :cry

Without common sense. :bonk :thud

JS :wave

04-23-2005, 05:55 PM
Are you ordering GGr or not????

nope. too much $$$ and i don't like the pose and the fact he's polystone, not metal. laugh it up, but i'm completely happy with hasbro's 12" version, considering he's a throw-away character.:peace

04-23-2005, 09:37 PM
He's polystone and metal, actually.

04-23-2005, 09:43 PM
when are they gonna start with the preorders??? im most definately gonna get one of these.

Mannie The Dragon
04-24-2005, 01:27 AM
you've heard me say it before: I've been down with General Greivous since before I even knew they were making one.

I'm getting two of these bad boys.:rock

04-24-2005, 01:29 AM
The affiliate newsletter states that he will be available for pre-order on the 29th April.

Mannie The Dragon
04-24-2005, 01:38 AM
that's gonna feel like an eternity until I have a confirmed pre-order.....:bonk

04-24-2005, 01:50 AM
This is the excerpt:

04-24-2005, 02:35 AM
I'll be getting him for sure. Already have the current 3 on pre-order so why stop there!! Besides, from the pictures so far, and the hype he's been getting from the SS gang, it looks like a must have.
I'm sure it will be a while before it ships, and if I don't like what I see in ROTS - I can always cancel... :smokin

04-24-2005, 04:54 AM
Well if it's $400 it better talk and @#%$ at the same time, and wear his cape..Or I will cancel.

04-24-2005, 05:38 AM
Most people who've seen him in person, here at C3, say the price is either "reasonable", or "that's it?".

He's HUGE!

04-24-2005, 06:23 AM
Wow, that is encouraging, Shaithis.

TB, can you elaborate on the functions you want GG to perforrm, just so we're clear? :lol :p

04-24-2005, 06:29 AM
He's polystone and metal, actually.

Very, very encouraging news!

04-24-2005, 07:17 AM
So, potentially very heavy then. :p

04-24-2005, 08:36 AM
Can't wait to get my order in for this one! Grievous is gonna rock! :rock

04-24-2005, 09:00 AM
29th is gonna be an expensive day, got to order both Elektra and the General. I believe this is the end of my bank account, after sticking to LotR for a really long time I'm finally getting swepped away with other items :(

04-24-2005, 09:11 AM
does anyone know when its gonna be released???? anytime before the end of summer after that??

04-24-2005, 09:18 AM
I thought it was the 1st qtr 2006. :dunno

04-24-2005, 10:25 AM
say the price is either "reasonable", or "that's it?".

Thats it? Meaning thats all Im getting for half a grand?

04-24-2005, 10:41 AM
Gimme gimme gimme a Grievous after midnight...

If there's an exclusive, will it be $50 more like Han? Wow, $500 smack-a-roonies is a kick in the family jewels wherever your loyalities lie...

Still, resistance is futile!

04-24-2005, 01:10 PM
are you serious?? its gonna cost $500!!!! ouch maybe im not gonna be getting one.

04-24-2005, 01:20 PM
Swear Your Allegiance to the General

OK..........F*#K THE GENERAL :rolleyes :doh :rollin

04-24-2005, 01:22 PM
By that do you mean you're not gonna order, Mark? :p

04-24-2005, 01:26 PM

THAT'LL BE AN ES OF 2 THEN :rollin :rollin

04-24-2005, 01:34 PM
Thought it would have been a spectacular U-turn...just didn't get your previous post. :dunno :D No, not crazy...not yet. :D

On the question of characters for GG and SS to take a stab at, this should make us all wish we had a rich aunt's inheritance to spend:

:drool :thud

04-24-2005, 02:03 PM

He *swore* his "Allegiance to the General":mwaha

04-24-2005, 02:19 PM
Well their's plenty for them to get their molds on there.:x

Yes he swore.:x

04-24-2005, 02:30 PM
Guys, all the reports from people at C3 indicate that the Sideshow reps at the show said the exclusive will be Grievous's cape! So, the question is: Will you shell out the extra money for the exclusive w/ the cape, or will you get the regular from a dealer at a discount?

Exclusive for me! The cape is too good to pass up. :yay

04-24-2005, 02:34 PM
Well, as a retailer I'm getting 3 already, and I think I'm going to have to open at least one and keep it for myself. Does that count?

That news on the exclusive hurts - that means I have to get ANOTHER one via the website since I can't buy the exclusive version.....

04-24-2005, 03:24 PM
I will be buying the version with the cape for sure!

I am guessing he will go on sale this Friday? I cannot miss this one!

04-24-2005, 03:41 PM
Caped version for me, too. If they ever make his MagnaGuards, he'll complement them perfectly.

04-24-2005, 03:44 PM
Premium $400, Exclusive caped $450.

04-24-2005, 03:46 PM
Premium $400, Exclusive caped $450.

Is this confirmed? That would mean that dealers would have Grievous for about $350, which would make me think about my choice. $100 for a cape seems a little steep. Or do you mean $400 is what dealers will charge?

04-24-2005, 04:08 PM
I'm in also!!:yay

The cape is well worth an extra $50 to me. IMO, I feel that the piece isn't worth the $$$ without the cape. That'd be like getting Vader without his lightsaber.

04-24-2005, 04:12 PM
Ahhh crap I started the ROTS book and its making me want to get Grievous:bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang

04-24-2005, 04:19 PM
Will the pre-order open Friday late night like their other recent ones or during the day?

Also, any word on the edition sizes, both regular and exclusive version?

04-24-2005, 04:33 PM
What if the exclusive version came with the cape, 1 blaster, and the belt with all the prized Jedi Sabers he carries as trophies?? Now that would be awesome! :rock

04-24-2005, 04:37 PM
Danny THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!!!!:thud

04-24-2005, 04:39 PM
I think hulkfan mentioned in another thread that the buyer wouldn't have to stay up all night to order this one, so hopefully that means it'll be up for order Friday afternoon.

04-24-2005, 04:54 PM
I like the idea of the blaster. Maybe the exclusive will have Greivous with 3 sabers and his blaster like the unleashed figure.

Also Chris from SS was the one that said you wouldn't have to wait up all night long to order the piece. I think this means that the exclusive will have a high edition number like Vader.

04-24-2005, 04:55 PM
I think hulkfan mentioned in another thread that the buyer wouldn't have to stay up all night to order this one

Chris said that referring to the fact that Grievous wouldn't go up for order until next Friday. He was effectively saying, "Don't stay up all night tonight, since there is no preorder until next week."

Remember, afternoon here would mean nighttime to our European friends.

I like the idea of the blaster. Maybe the exclusive will have Greivous with 3 sabers and his blaster like the unleashed figure.

Remember, the arms are removable, so an exclusive blaster would be like the GG busts: you could display the figure with or without the blaster. :rock Also, FYI, Grievous also separates at the waist into 2 pieces for shipping, and his arms are detachable for a total of 6 pieces in the box.

04-24-2005, 04:56 PM
I really like the idea of Grevious having the lightsabers around his belt. Dammit!!!:bang :bang :bang :bang

The cape and lightsabers would sell the deal

04-24-2005, 04:59 PM
:rock Funny that you post about it again Viking, Im still thinking about the idea!!! God that would be so cool! Anyone else agree? :rock

04-24-2005, 05:02 PM
Viking that is a GREAT idea! The cape, the blaster, and the belt would make the exclusive even more jaw-dropping than it already is.

04-24-2005, 05:11 PM
Yea it would!!! I cant wait now to see the exclusive, but you know the bad part is if you have him your going to have to have his body guard.:bang :bang

04-24-2005, 05:18 PM
He kicked some major but in the Clone Wars cartoon, so I can't imagine why he'd need a bodyguard. Guess I'll find out why at midnight on May 18th. :banana

04-24-2005, 06:21 PM
so do i need to stay up late thursady night or what??? is it gonna go on pre-order early friday morning or later on in the day??

04-24-2005, 06:43 PM
hey considering this isnt supposed to ship until the first of the year how much do we have to pay up front when we preorder???

04-24-2005, 08:04 PM
Nothing up front its just a pre order.

04-24-2005, 08:05 PM
RichardW did you watch season 2 of the Clone Wars?
They kind of help him at his "work".

04-24-2005, 08:18 PM
Anybody know where i can see some of the episodes of Clone Wars Season 2?

04-24-2005, 08:33 PM
BTW-GG doesn't actually have a belt in the film.According to the visualdictionary book that just cameout, he actually has pockets on the inside of his cape.

04-24-2005, 11:26 PM
Swoop, unless you're a Hyperspace member I don't think you can download the episodes until it's released onto DVD.

04-25-2005, 12:40 AM
NOW I'm stressing over the exclusive preorder time...

Can anyone at SS (Chris? Hulkfan?) please let us know or hint what time it'll go up ordering? I for one am in the UK, so baring in mind the time difference is 8 hrs, if Grievous goes live say 4pm PT that's what...? 12 midnight here! I want the exclusive, but life tends to get in the way of camping out in front of my PC all night!

PLEASE let us know, at least approximately. Pretty pleae... with sugar on top... and those little, round sweet what-do-ya-call-ems...Hundreds and Thousands, yeah that's it...

Maybe a bribe would help! :hat

*feels dumb Friday when 'exclusive' turns out to have a 2,000 ES* :banana

04-25-2005, 01:04 AM
You can find the latest 5 episodes of Clone Wars through Bit Torrent or Kazaa Lite easy enough if you are so inclined...

04-25-2005, 01:32 AM
I'm in the netherlands so I got 9 hours of timedifference, I really hope they'll do the preorder in the middle of the day in LA so I can order it in the evening here....

04-25-2005, 01:53 AM
Well, better not go to the students' union that night...;) :p Need to have my wits about me. :D

04-25-2005, 03:09 AM
BTW-GG doesn't actually have a belt in the film.According to the visualdictionary book that just cameout, he actually has pockets on the inside of his cape

For you to know this pretty much confirms an exclusive version & that the cape is included.

Or am I delirious? :help

04-25-2005, 03:32 AM
Is there definitely going to be an exlusive edition and a non-exclusive edition...?

04-25-2005, 05:05 AM
Nope! Too huge, too fragile, too expensive - and so NOT a character that I'm connecting SW to, sorry. I'm of the "old school". :p

04-25-2005, 05:08 AM
Viking, I did see Season 2, just forgot about them. That tends to happen when characters have such an on-screen presence like he does. :lol

04-25-2005, 07:40 AM
BTW-GG doesn't actually have a belt in the film.According to the visualdictionary book that just cameout, he actually has pockets on the inside of his cape.

So we will have the lightsabers in his cape then?????????????:thud

04-25-2005, 08:20 AM
I hope Sideshow does with GG what they did with Vader, and put the preorder up at 3pm Eastern time.
I have to work late Friday night. :rolleyes

04-25-2005, 10:07 AM
will they announce what time they will start the presell or is it just the luck of the draw?? because i have to work as well.

04-25-2005, 10:12 AM
Im thinking its going to be through the newsletter. I remeber they said they would rather not have the newsletter posted in the coming weeks, so maybe that is how.

04-25-2005, 10:16 AM
PLEASE sell it before 7pm (Central Time)!!!!

I am leaving to go out of town and cannot miss this one!!!

04-25-2005, 10:22 AM
Here are the episodes of the clone wars, Hyperspace members can watch them on an large quickplay screen, everyone else can view them in the small version. Regardless its for the public, enjoy. :rock

www.starwars.com/clonewars/ (http://www.starwars.com/clonewars/)

04-25-2005, 10:46 AM
Im thinking its going to be through the newsletter. I remeber they said they would rather not have the newsletter posted in the coming weeks, so maybe that is how.

That would be great, since I get the newsletter maybe 1 out of 3 times and if I get it it's on monday....

04-25-2005, 12:34 PM
nothing hairlesswookie....:dance

neways this is pretty good news ill prob be preordering the exc also...i would love if he had sabers on his belt and an arm attachment holding his blaster but if this was the case you can bet the exclusive would be $100+ more then the reg.

so he goes up on friday huh? i cant wait....:dance

04-25-2005, 12:41 PM
ok i def gotta get the caped version...i jsut hope its removeable cause pics from back look awesome too...

but imagine this is pretty much what its going look like...dayam that cape looks good :lol

04-25-2005, 01:03 PM
If GG's exclusive is a cape, that's going to be so much better than Vader's mouse droid exclusive. Now if the Vader exclusive would've been an unmasked head that you could swap out (ala Wolverine), then that would :rock

04-25-2005, 01:16 PM
You forget, Richard, this is an Ep4 Vader; :p the Ep6 Vader will come later, me thinks. :lol

04-25-2005, 01:25 PM
OT as I was reading my newly arrived SW insider today, a intresting fact about Vader's helm. The original version was all uneven and no balance to it. Just thought I would share that!

04-25-2005, 01:28 PM
OT as I was reading my newly arrived SW insider today, a intresting fact about Vader's helm. The original version was all uneven and no balance to it. Just thought I would share that!

That's exactly right, and what people like Gruson and I were saying when the Vader prototype was first shown at Toyfair. If you look at the updated sculpt, you can see that one of his "tusks" is silver and one is black. This is exactly as it was shown in the film.

I read about how they used a CAD program to create Vader's mask for Ep. III, so that it's 100% symmetrical.

04-25-2005, 01:31 PM
if they're gonna keep with a high degree of authenticity, then surely they will follow the proportions of the original Ep4 helmet. This begs the question: will our figures have asymmetrical helmets too? :lol :eek

04-25-2005, 01:41 PM
I guess the Medicom Vader will have to suffice for now as the Ep. 6 Vader.

04-25-2005, 01:47 PM
True, but I think there's a high probability variations of Vader will emerge. I wonder if SSC will venture into doing creatures. :lol :eek :p
