I have been a huge fan of Smallville since it first came on. I remember hearing about a show called "Smallville" coming out and thinking huh, thats funny, its just like the town where Superman grew up. Then I learn it IS SUPERMAN growing up. I was hooked on the premise alone!!
Season after season they delivered great shows. Not every one was great, but most were solid. I was, however, not so pleased with this past season. The first half was decent, but then the writers strike and cast shake up seems to have forced out some pretty ugly episodes (i.e. Jimmy Olsen...SUPER Spy???). I was ready to give up on it this year...and then I read some stuff from SDCC!
First, DC seems to be taking a more prominent role in the show. Both the company and the Universe. Doomsday will be a major player this year, more guest spots by different DCU A-listers, Green Arrow as a full time cast member, AND an Episode in December entitled "Legion" in which the Legion of Super Heroes make thier first appearance. The best part about Legion.....its written by Geoff Johns!!!!
I might be jumping the gun, but I'm more excited for Smallville this year then ever before. In fact loosing Lex and Lana might actually open the show up to a more grand scale! *Crossing my fingers*
What do you guys think?
