land of the lost..:lol............i loved that show...........the opening song was the best ....

"Marshall, Will, and Holly
On a routine expedition
Met the greatest earthquake ever known.
High on the rapids
It struck their tiny raft.
And plunged them down a thousand feet below.

To the Land of the Lost.
To the Land of the Lost.
To the Land of the Looooooooooooost".

But will they stick with Marshall or bump him off and bring in the Uncle like in the show? And, I have to agree with KitFisto, I'd rather have seen a remake ala Get Smart, with nods to the series than a Will Ferrel anything.

For the trivia buffs.....Will Ferrel's name in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is Willinholly. If you break it down that's Will and Holly. You see? It always comes back to Land of the Lost..... Oh yeah, who's the geek now?

Yeah thats Enik ! If you do a google search you can find picts of the regular sleestaks
I worked on this remake.
I did witness some cool and funny stuff being filmed so I actually have a good feeling about it.

Will Ferrell needs to stop making movies. Now. I liked Elf and Anchorman, but since Anchorman, every single movie has been basically the same character, with the same personality, though a different name and in different situations. I feel every one of his movies is simply a slapstick remake of the last.

Will. Stop. Please.

The problem I have with Will is that every movie I see him in I feel like its the same character. Like if it was Harrison Ford he would of been Indiana Jones in Star wars.

He just doesn't change character to me . Now in a movie like anchorman thats fine because he is a funny guy.
I think this movie could do better though.

It wasn't enough to have a Ferrell bastardized version of Bewitched? Does he have to rip all the purity of childhood away and kill it with his unacting abilities? The original may have been "cheesy" but that was the 70's, intentionally making it stupid is another thing.
Oh......And IMDB just reported that Ferrell will be Jason of Star Command and Cmdr. Gampu in Space Academy. :duh

They are very happy with the approach to this film , and wanted to go a certain direction. Good to know Sid and Marty are into it! I don't get all the hate for Will, I mean, if he plays a character a certain way it's 'cause the Director wants him to, look at Stranger Than Fiction he was great in that. He may not be the funniest out there, but I find him amusing for the most part.

Boba Fett

I'm still convinced Sid and Marty were smoking some serious bud when they made those shows in the 70's. C'mon, Lidsville? That show is an LSD trip in itself.

Keep seeing the trailer and the movie slated as a Comedy/Adventure... I never knew the original was a Comedy. I remember being freaked out by the Enik. But sad to see this turn into a comedy rather then make it an interesting film which already has depth. Now its joke. I wasn't sure either if it was a spoof movie like "Scary Movie" or the other ones. But I'll never watch see this and I hate WIll Ferrel.

Yeah, I agree. A decent treatment of Land of the Lost would have been great. But, in true Hollywood spirit, like Starsky & Hutch, they think making comedies out of shows that had humorous moments is a good idea. Can't wait for the comedic treatment of Little House on the Prairie.

Yes, like Jurassic Park, Time Tunnel, Quantum Leap, Sliders....
It may do well, but it did not need to be a comedy. Stupid, sophomoric humor is the only kind Hollywood seems able to release lately but that doesn't make it right.

I did enjoy it, Im not even a huge Will Ferrell fan but I laughed at a number of things . I think the film suffered from being kicked forward to release a month earlier than planned. I think they lost valuable editing/tweaking time .
