View Full Version : Missing: For Sale/For Trade Forum ?
Chapter 2099
08-24-2008, 06:33 PM
I know this sounds weird, but I can't seem to find the For Sale/For Trade Forum. I just got done editing my thread on there not even 15 minutes ago and now its gone. (I know this sounds crazy.) :lol
It's not even listed on my screen under the Commerce Section. I've been a member for a while so I know how to navigate the boards, etc., but it's like the forum has disappeared. Can anyone give me some advice? DARKLORD DAVE !!!! Where are you ?!

Or you can just do what I do when I need help............ :taz *screams* "Darklord Dave? Where are you? Someone needs your help!" :rotfl

Hi Ratven,
To be able to see the For Sale section you need to have a minimum post count of 50 and effective from today a membership of 6months or more.
So once you reach those, you should be able to access it with no problems
Hope this helps

I guess that's why I can't access it anymore. I'm new to forums and usually read and don't post replies. I've got a few months to wait now.

Yep, that will be it. If you get to 50 posts at 6 months membership you should be able to see it then.

I would advise against spamming just to reach the minimum post count as this is frowned upon and if this is done access to the For Sale section could still be denied.
Join in, have discussions, get to know the members, theyre mostly harmless and good fun :rock

so you can't even use the FST section? let alone see it if you have'nt been here for six months. (starting now) ehh.. man that sux that a few bad apples have spoiled it for new members. glad this was'nt in effect when I joined cause I just passed that six month mark not too long ago and if I understand this right I would'nt have been able to make any of those over 20 purchaces I've done. BTW can a newer member that has'nt met the six month limit petition the MODS to gain access?

You could have PM'd Dave. If a person were in a situation like yourself he is letting people in after reviewing the account.

New members can still see and use the Want to buy and Auctions section of the Forum, they just do not have access to the For Sale section until a minimum post count and membership of 6 months has been reached.
If they havn't been here for 6 months but want access to the For Sale section then yes they can put their case forward to Dave and it will be considered.
Hope this helps

Um.. it was hypothetical dude. If a "newb" was in the situation you described they could PM Dave to get around the new rules.

Just to clarify - I never meant for the sale forum to be inaccessible to the under 50s. That was a mistake that has been rectified. It's only to post for sale threads that the new rules apply. If a veteran board member wants to sell to an under 50, that's up to them.

Cheers Dave that is very good news.
As a newbie I find the for sale board a really useful resource and was quite upset at the thought of having to wait another 5 months to see it again.
....and it has already convinced me to sign up for a paypal account so I can purchase from Forum members.

Hey dave, I don't get why it can't be viewed for those with no posts (guests) or under 50? I can understand not posting, but viewing?

It is visible to those with under 50.
