Rob Zombie's Halloween - 4/10
I don't love the white trash origin but it's way better than the horrendously boring "remake" section towards the end.
Eden Lake - 3/10
I hate message movies. This is basically torture porn based on the "shocking" premise of Youth Gone Wild. Kids meets Deliverance meets Hostel.

One of my all time favourites,besides...it took place in the Norwegian Territory in Antarctica, which explains why the norwegian hunted the dog in the beginning of the movie, and Kurt Russel and the crew went to the Norwegian base where they found the Ice block.

While I wait for Army of Darkness to get here from Netflix, I re-watched:

House of 1000 Corpses 7/10

Good movie. Disturbing and crazy which really works for the story. Gore but not too gory. You can really tell these people like to do what they do. To them it's just having fun and getting enjoyment out of it. This movie always kind of reminded me of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre family a bit. Not exactly the same but close.

The Devils Rejects 8/10

I liked this better than House of 1000 Corpses but I don't know why. Maybe it's the Captain Spaulding character. He's in it more in this one than he was in the last. There's a Star Wars reference in it too which is always a plus in my book.

Jurassic Park 10/10

I've always loved this movie. Incredible cinematic achievement and great film score. I love this movie so much that I read the book twice even though it is different than the film. This movie really brought a new age for cinematic visuals in my opinion. Great characters, great story and great music. I can't find any flaws with this movie to be honest.

Classic great film that launched the careers of Cameron and solidified Arnold as the icon. I noticed this time of watching it how much the film has the Escape From New York feel to it. Dark, decaying city which in of itself doesn't seem to fully belong to EFNY, but it definately has that feel to it.

Whatever, I love this film and I even prefer it to T2, which I also love but for me I'll take the original if had to choose.

South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut: 8/10 Great film, very funny and lots of cool songs/music :D

The Weather Man: 7/10 Nicolas Cage in something that isn't the usual action/adventure type film. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with such films, but this is a refreshing switch from the usual. And with Sir Michael Caine of course. The man is always good :)

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - 8/10 I had the lowest expectations possible and for the longest time I hated what had become of Deadpool/Weapon XI. Yet I actually find myself enjoying him at the end. I've come to the realization that that wasn't Deadpool, but it's what leads to Deadpool. Much like Ryan himself had said in interviews. Still the look of Weapon XI was just schweet imo. The look and all grew on me. Personally loved the last fight as well. Seeing Wade though was just awesome the few minutes he had. I have hope in a real Deadpool movie now. While I consider X2 to still be the best overall, I actually enjoyed this as much if not more than the first two X-Men films. Yeah I said it.....

Seriously, why don't you just go see it in the theater? It's a MUCH different experience than watching a ripped version from a workprint. Not that it's a masterpiece, but it's still different so you can see exactly what changed from workprint to final. Seems like a film student/buff would enjoy doing that, even if the film isn't that great :dunno

And if you don't like the idea of giving Fox the cash, do like we did - buy a ticket to a different movie that starts at about the same time and go in the Wolverine theater instead ;)

I usually don't like most feature length, animated direct-to-video superhero cartoons--most of the ones I've seen just weren't good at all, so I was extremely skeptical about this. However, I was pleasantly surprised and thought this was fantastic. Pretty good pacing and a good storyline--Not perfect, mind you, but definitely a lot better than the borefest of something like Superman/Doomsday. The animation was decent for the budget, but WW looked a little off occasionally--I blame her nose.

It definitely had the problems of most origin stories--a lot of exposition to help you connect with the character, but it was all well done. It would be great if they continued making WW movies of this quality... In fact, this wouldn't have been bad if as a life action film.

Predator 8/10

The film becomes decent when all of the cheesy ass marines are dead. I feel the same way about Aliens. You take out the Predator and this rating becomes 0/10 with no exaggeration.

Arnold has no business speaking more than 5-10 words in any movie.

Aliens 7/10

Horrid acting, my favorite part was when Vasquez dies, I just wish she had a mysterious heart attack at her very first showing.

Again you take out the Ripley vs Alien factor and this movie becomes a 0/10. I never realized how bad an actor Michael Biehn really is. Sigourney makes the first 2 films something decent.

I watch these movies simply because of Stan Winstons attachment and amazing special effects.

Borat was funny, but IMO had to been the most overrated movie I can remember. Maybe because I already had watched Ali G when it originally aired and knew what to expect?

If you took out any main plot of a movie it would drop to 0/10 wouldn't it?

I have to admit. I've never been a huge fan of Predator either. The design of the creature is amazing but I think the film is actually quite dull. I preferred the second movie.

Aliens though i think is amazing. Special effects, action, cheese and a brilliant end showdown.

If you took out any main plot of a movie it would drop to 0/10 wouldn't it?

Yes correct but my point was that there are plenty of films that are of the same kind minus the "creature" that have turned out well. What I was saying is, the film as a stand alone minus the Predator or Aliens is weak to almost pathetic.

The quality of acting or attempt at the "coolness" factor was so far from achieved imo its not even funny. Regardless I still gave both films an 8 and 7 /10 so its not hate towards the "film".

I just love Stan Winstons work.

Star Trek is the only movie that I've seen since the Dark Knight that can rival TDK.

The only reason I think it beats out the Dark Knight is because TDK had some dry boring parts in between the action. This movie seemed to keep a good pace and then went all out at the end. I am not a huge Trek fan. I watched The Next Generation a bunch when I was a kid and all of the movies. But I don't own a single one on dvd.

I WILL own this movie when it comes out and hope that this is a new beginning for the franchise. This is one thing that they took the old and made it better and not suck. This is even better than the SW prequels. Which I guess isn't that hard to do but I am a huge SW fan.

I can't say enough about this movie. Just fantastic! Fan ^^^^ing Tastic! :rock

C'est Arrivé Près De Chez Vous (Man Bites Dog: It Happened In Your Neighborhood)

Disturbing, but also very humorous. This Belgian film is filmed as a documentary.
A documentary following a serial killer. Following him to his "work" and showing how he kills people and disposes of the bodies.

From this discription it may not sound funny at all, but there is some really good humor in this one. I laughed out loud on several occasions.
I can't and won't say anything more because of possible spoilers but I have one suggestion: If you haven't seen it, watch it!

Zodiac = :sleep :sleep, 2/10, too long, too boring. It was good information but I would rather watch a 1hr documentary about it than go through that again :lol

Too bad! I loved every minute of Zodiac.

Just got back from seeing two flicks.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine 8/10

I don't know what everyone's problem with this movie is. Sure it isn't exactly true to the comic for each character in it but the acting was good, the fights were good and the story was pretty good.

^^^^ no. The story is beyond poor.

So. Wolverine and his brother decide to go fight all the wars in history, until Stryker asks them to join a secret team. They have ONE mission (It is not implied they had more then one.) and Wolverine...the animal, the bad man, up and leaves once they start killin some people. He goes with his girlfriend, who we never really get to know anyway, to canada. Stryker says "VICTOR IZ KILLIN EVRYBODY...PLZ HELP!11" "Logan" (how he want from Jimmy, to Logan is never known....) declines. Then Sabes kills his underdeveloped girlfriend, and he goes on a "rampage".

After losing, Stryker tells him he can help. So he loads him up with adamantium. Why you ask? Perhaps for Victor..but the real goal is...OMG TO TAKE HIS DNA for BarkraPool! So, insted of just taking his DNA, they loaded him up with indesructible metal.....good plan Mr. Stryker. SO he gets out....and meets some old people. We never know their names, and they die. Woopy. We meet Blob to gain info. Then Gambit. Then we find out this entire thing was a lie...wow.

So he fights BarkraPool in one of the most poorly done effect/fight scene ever....(Yes, I did see that scene in the theaters). Now...how does Wolverine lose his memory? He gets shot in the head with an adamantium bullet. Yes.

Oh yes.....feel free to disagree/flame...ect...but jesus....:whip

The Negotiator: 7/10 Hadn't seen it in a long time and I pretty much forgot how the story went. Kevin Spacey is awesome!

Unforgiven: 7.5/10 Good movie, but somehow I didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped to, given that the film has good ratings and excellent actors.

The Dark Knight: 10/10 Excellent film, The Joker rules! :rock

Even when I do go out without friends its to go and watch a bigger tv. :lol:lol

I doubt anyone I know will want to watch star trek. I can imagine that they would be suprised from what I've read but its just a matter of convincing them. :banghead:D

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans---7/10. this is now my favorite in the trilogy. great prequel, but there are a few problems i had with the story that hopefully get answered if they make another prequel.

Appaloosa - 5/10 - A hohum western. It was well acted but just felt weak with a unsatisfying ending. The guns also sounded like cap guns.

Batman and Robin (1949 Serial) - 8/10 - Much better than the 1943 Serial, this one has a better looking Batman and Robin costumes and even more cheesy acting. It's a fun ride.

2001: A Space Odyssey - 10/10 - Still flawless. While the Road Warrior is my favorite movie, 2001 is the greatest movie ever made.

Tamara: 7/10 Pretty OK horrorfilm. Better than I expected after reading some bad reviews. Some pretty gorey stuff in this one too.

Cars: 9.5/10 My favorite Pixar film. The animation is super and just cars on the roads and in the towns instead of humans, brings me back to my childhood, playing with toy cars :)

Open Range: 8/10 This one was really good. Nice shots of the open range (:)) good story and good acting. Also great action in the end!

tell me about it. Nowadays its really easy for directors to get sucked into cgi fests. I'm glad Del Toro didn't with hellboy.

I think I'm going to see Star Trek with a friend in a few hours. Hope its as good as everyones making out. I have my hopes up now !. :lol

Haven't seen it on Blu Ray, is it worth the upgrade from DVD (I've got the 2-disc special edition)? Totally agree on the 10 rating, though.

Star Trek (reboot): 9/10
Lives up to the hype.

if you are a blu ray purist like myself then the upgrade is for sure needed. i also have the 2 disc DVD and there is a noticeable difference. the picture quality is just too good not to own for this classic.
