I thought you would have seen it too be honest with you bud else I would have quite happily told you to watch it! Amazing eh? I was a late comer to this also. Definately my favourite show just ahead of Breaking Bad and Dexter.

Not sure what spoiler now your referring to?

i shouldn't mention it, even in spoiler tags. the email notifications you get for new posts doesn't do anything with spoiler tags, which always annoys me, and might ruin it for other people.

to be honest, my best friend has been bugging me to watch it for ages, promising he'd lend me his box set once he found it. got fed up of waiting and ordered from hmv in their recent sale. it's a damn good show. i still maintain that prison break season 1 is the best TV drama i've seen, but you can't really compare the two - they're totally different shows. i liked that prison break had me on the edge of my seat, but sopranos is much more addictive.

i need to finish entourage too. another great show i was late starting.

And that is the power of Mr. Speilberg, all other sequels sucked. I'm surprised you don't consider Alien a high ranked "horror" movie. I'd actually compare both Jaws and Alien as similar in terms of suspense and what not.

I thought it was really good, and I love how it rolled right into JCs The Thing. Ive heard alot of people say bad things about it, but I think people have way to high of expectations on movies these days and its cool to hate everything now. I loved it, more than likely I'll buy it. If I had to complain about one thing it was basically ceratin CG scenes looked a little weak, but even so it wasnt like a deal breaker.

Batman Year One 6/10

I loved the comic series. This was back when Frank Miller walked on water. This story is better in many ways than The Dark Knight Returns.

I really wanted to like this BLU Ray more, but there's no f-cking passion in any of it. I never sat on the edge of my seat, never felt much of anything. It was cold and by the numbers.

Much has been said of the voice acting. I'll agree and add a note no one else has mentioned: The wrong actress is voicing Catwoman. How could they hire Katie Sackhoff and have her play Essen? She had maybe 10 lines of dialogue! What a waste! Starbuck would have kicked ass as Catwoman.

Gordon was well played, Batman.... well. That's where the cold and emotionless part comes in.

Really cool movie, reminded me alot of Halloween. Very ambient noises and even similar soundtrack. Something about a guy with a sack on his head is pretty damn creepy. Basically a botched robbery takes this crew out to an abondoned farmhouse where they meet there end. Very formulated and as I said you can almost see alot of reference was taken from Halloween. Like again the music and certain camera angles and what not. Really a good movie over all though.

Not really a rating, but an observation. I was flipping channels this weekend, and FX was playing Transfromers: Revenge of the Fallen. Something seemed weird about it, but I couldn't put my hand on it. I then realized the film was running slight faster, maybe half-speed faster. Sure enough, it was scheduled on FX for two hours, but the actual running time of the film is 127 minutes.

I noticed a channel doing that playing (of all things) Wonder Years fast. The dialog was all the same, but anytime anyone moved it looked like they were on speed :lol Guess Hub wanted to squeeze in one more commercial for all those 10s of people watching :huh And for the record I was only watching a few minutes, enjoyed that show as a kid... unwatchable as an adult :dunno

Adjustment Bureau: 7/10
Way better than I expected, interesting story and one that kept me interested. Could have done w/o the weak monologue at the end though, kind of overkill and ended the movie poorly.

The Phantom Menace: 6/10
I still think the movie could have been good... chop out a few scenes and some bad dialog and it'd be a 7 or 8 easily. But as it is, TPM leaves a lot to be desired. Looks good on blu though, but the Jar-Jar effects are definitely showing there age.

Attack of the Clones: 6/10
Still my least favorite of the prequels, but I actually was not as bothered by it this time around. I tend to expect it to be worse than it actually is which makes my viewing less painful. There is less to love (IMO) than TPM, but again a bit of editing would bump it up a notch or two.

I couldn't find screenshots and photos to compare, but i loved the way they tried to make it the same style as the comic, but a little more "modern", so to speak.

Yeah, I see your point.

Overall, I think they could have done more with the animation; all-star superman had better animation.

And not to be nit-picky but in the comics, he actually does a stab with his fingers through those bricks. That bothered me when it was done like this. <<< OCD part of me, sorry.

A film is - or should be - more like music than like fiction. It should be a progression of moods and feelings. The theme, what's behind the emotion, the meaning, all that comes later.

- Stanley Kubrick

Most audiences have ADD so it doesn't surprise me when you find great films rated poorly. Buried may not have been "great" but it was well executed and somewhat original at least.

You may or may not like it, but it really was about something totally differant than I thought it would be. Like The Incredibles, when it came out I had not interest in it and barely gave the previews any notice, but when I was forced to take the kids to it I was blown away. Gross, explicit, mean and insane, this movie is pretty much everything you heard the first THC was. I wish the story hung together a bit better, but it's Tom Six is definitely up to something interesting. He's mixing a healthy dose of meta in with the blood and poop. He's also given us yet another memorable horror movie villain. Definitely a solid pick if you're looking for something to push the limits of good taste for Halloween.

I really wanted to love it, but it just felt overall kinda bland. There were definitely some cool parts here and there like Cap throwing those soldiers out the plane and the one through the propeller and I thought those enemy planes were awesome. But I felt the advanced tech based on the cube just seemed unnecessary and out of place. And even though we got to spend so much time with Cap, I still felt like we could have gotten to know him better. The other characters needed more characterization too. They all felt very surface-y in varying degrees. But it's very hard to pinpoint exactly why I didn't really like it. On paper it sounds like it's hitting all the right notes. But I just didn't feel it.

And I had read people talking about that abrupt cut of Cap swinging from the chain in the hangar--it's so true! Truly a WTF moment! And Stark was supposed to be Tony's GRANDfather, right? That would make sense.

I felt more engaged by Thor and definitely liked that and X-Men FC better than Cap.

The Island of Lost Souls - 6/10

For fans of classic horror and sci-fi, this one is a must see. The first screen adaptation of Wells' Island of Dr. Moreau, it's easily the most disturbing, and I can see why it generated so much controversy. Since Lota the panther woman is really an evolved animal, not a human, Moreau's attempts to have her sleep with the male lead are truly beastiality. Ignoring the moral subtext, Moreau's final fate is pretty gruesome even by today's standards, and the animal make up was very impressive all around.

Sadly, other than Laughton's acting as Moreau, the cast is the usual sub par 1930's acting troupe. Kathleen Burke as the panther woman does a nice job exuding sexuality, not bad for someone who had just turned 18. Meow!

It started a bit slow, but overall this has to be one of the best films I have seen this year. It has been a long while since I actually noticed myself holding my breath while watching a film. There were some very tense and awesome moments. Absolutely brilliant! :clap :bow

Glad you loved it dude! :hi5: You should get his Scorpion jacket as well. I just ordered one recently. :yess:

Bridesmaids - 7/10. I'm becoming less and less of an Apatow fan, not that I was ever a huge one to begin with. Wig is funny here, but the film tends to drag far too much. I thought maybe it was because it was more of a woman's comedy, but no, neither of the women that saw it with me cared for it all that much either.

I was bored the other night and I found Kick Ass in the 5.00 bin at Wal-Mart so I figured that would give it a try. Other than making Mindy to 30-ish...it was a good movie...6/10.

I also had a free redbox rental from the McD's Monopoly game so I rented Bad Teacher. I like it a lot. Cameron Diaz was very funny, and I found Lucy Punch to be both funny and kind of...well...warm if not hot. 6/10.

I only give it a score this high because of the scenes on OA, which I actually enjoyed a bit. A mediocre movie though. Forgettable, and by far the lesser of the comic movies of the summer. Reynolds wasn't that bad, but the dialogue was horrible. He seemed to try his best with what he was given though. Best character and actor in the movie was Sinestro. I would have been much more interested in a movie focused on him. I actually thought the guy playing Hammond was a'aight, despite a lot of criticism I read of him.

Nice to see I am not the only one who likes Clerks 2 more than Clerks. I love both, but I don't know if I ever laughed so hard in a theater than when I saw Clerks 2. It is also a nice, personal film from Smith and you can tell he truly loves these characters. Plus, it also has just the right amount of Jay and Silent Bob. I saw this film right around the time I turned 30 also and it really spoke to me. And Jeff Anderson I felt really grew as an actor. His performance in the jail cell scene was very touching. All in all Clerks 2 and Chasing Amy are Smith's best made films IMO. But I also love Mallrats....Jason Lee makes that film!!

Agree... it really was just a ho-hum movie. I was particularly surprised by how the final battle just seemed so anti-climactic.

I really don't like Reynolds, but I'd also agree he wasn't the issue. I think his portrayal could have worked if the movie had actually been given the attention it deserved.

Tangled: 7.5/10

Pretty fun movie. I liked it better than the early 90s Disney movies (like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc.), which I thought were good at the time. The musical numbers were mercifully short. I loved how they played the guilt-ridden/guilt-driven relationship between Rapunzel and her mother.

Green Hornet: 7.5/10

It was a blast! It started out a little slow, but once it got going it was great! The only thing I didn't like was Kato stabbing Bloodnofsky with the table legs in both of his eyes. I was on board with most of the over-the-top action, but that one thing went too far in the ridiculous-ness scale. And I only understood about maybe 20% of what Kato said.

Finally got around to seeing Horrible Bosses - 8/10. Funniest flick I've seen in quite some time, and much better than Bridesmaids.

I do wish they'd tied the bosses together a little better though - they sort of left the Aniston thing out there just for the titilation, and didn't really connect it back in with the other two stories as well as I'd hoped. But wow - she's still smoking hot.
