I did in fact but only slightly. I actually saw LMI before Let the Right One In so that may have a little to do with it but I liked the chemistry between the Abby and Owen was better in LMI as well as the chemistry between Abby and her "father" and the score was great. I also appreciated that they made Abby a girl rather than a castrated boy. That being said I liked how in LTROI Eli showed remorse and guilt for killing. Not that I don't think Abby wasn't remorseful but she didn't show it as much. I also like the death of the neighbor better in LTROI. You actually felt sorry for her. In LMI you got the feeling the neighbor was kind of a stuck up _____.

Trollhunter - 5/10. Disappointing, since I'd been looking forward to it. The troll effects were great, and those scenes were well done. But they were few and far between, and there was far, far too much driving around and going no where. The story is ridiculous as well - just silly. There's suspending disbelief and then there's poor writing.

Paul 7/10. Comedy is tough, but I did enjoy this one. Of course, the SDCC footage added a lot to the film for me, and Frost and Pegg are hilarious. Rogan is weak though, even here.

The rating is low, but it was still a fairly decent comedy. It starts very slow though, so if I have any advice is I would not give up hope until the actual conflict of them film begins.

Priest: 6/10
Nothing special on this one... kind of a fun post-apocalyptic adventure flic; but did not feel like a lot of thought or energy went into it.

Ice Age: 8/10
Not my favorite CGI series, but have to admit the original has held up pretty well.

Star Trek III: The Search for Spock: 7/10
Its good for a Star Trek movie, but outside of that context I have to admit its pretty weak :lol But still, an enjoyable Star Trek movie and worth the watch.

just curious if you read the book? I read the book before I saw either movie. FANTASTIC BOOK! One of the best vampire books I have ever read. But i have to say your "spoiler" about LMI movie is not accurate to what happened in the book. So the Swedish movie is accurate to the book compared to the USA version, and I like the Swedish movie more. I liked the kids better in the Swedish film. They felt more like the kids from the book. Especially the little girl, she was absolutely perfect cast for the Swedish movie. She really captured who the character was just by looks. She was supposed to look like girl most of the time, but at certain times she definitely still had traits of still being a boy if you read the bookBut i did like the USA version, it was a good movie. I would give the Swedish version a 9/10, and the USA version 7.9/10:)

Haven't read the book yet but it's been on my list for awhile now. I'm aware LTROI is more accurate than the US version though but still I have to give a slight edge to LMI. That being said if I had seen LTROI first, I would probably give that one the edge. They're both definitely the best vampire movies I've seen in a long time.

Damn good movie. Best of that trilogy, which is saying something. Great tension, great characters/acting, great effects. Subtlety when required, blunt axe-handle to the face when required. Whoda thunk the guy who made Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles had this in him?

Starship Troopers: 7/10

A fun movie with some interesting political undertones, though obviously not to be taken very seriously. Best thing about it is the insane action. . .and Michael Ironside/Clancy Brown, of course. Two badder bad-asses I couldn't hardly choose for their roles.

Bale is right behind him as he takes on such interesting characters all the time. Same with Philip Seymour Hoffman. All true masters of their craft.

Fell pretty hard for this movie. Funny, creepy and even scary in a couple places. The creatures are goofy in a cool 80's kinda way. In fact, if this came out in 1984, it would've been rated PG and become a pay-cable staple.

I like the original Monster design best. The sunken cheekbones make him look more dead and he has a slightly more menacing look to him imho. The Bride look is a close second though and I like the tattered suit more. In fact, I just picked up an SS Bride of Frankenstein Monster figure.

Hey, I used to be a huge Albert Brooks fan. Will have to check that out.

Due Date: 6.5/10

I thought it would be pretty bad since the RT score was below 50%, but I thought it was plenty funny. Basically felt like Zach Galifianakis ad-libbing all the way through, and that was good enough for me. The situations were pretty stupid, but since that was all a transparent means of showcasing the two actors, it didn't even factor in to my score.

Star Wars Bluray. Okay watched all 6 movies this past weekend and here are what I rate each one.

Episode I: The Phantom Menace 9/10
Superb CGI and sound. Can't stand Jar Jar Binks otherwise it would had been a 10. Et makes appearance.

Episode II: Attack of the Clones 8.5/10

Another example of CGI and sound at it's best. A little long in the beginning but that last half of the movie is quite good.

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith 8.5/10
Superb again on the sound and visual.

Episode IV: New Hope 7/10
Okay after watching episode 1-3 there is a big drop on the visual but the sound remix is perfect. There are color issues where white on so white, black aren't so black. IMO this is the weakest of the 6 films.

Episode V: Empire Strikes Back 10/10
The best of all the star wars collection. Top notch story and picture quality appears to be better. This one is epic!

Episode VI: Return of the Jedi 9.5/10
Can't flaw this movie but wish GL did not make some changes to the movie.

Overall grade of this Blu-Ray movies is 9/10. The sound & CGI makes this a must buy. I haven't even delve into the 3 bonus disc with 40 hours of content but it looks to be epic. This is better then the recent release of LoTR extended version collection where this bonus disc or special features were complete rehash of the DVD Extendrd version. With the packaging and the extra contents this is 10/10! I'm not a fan of GL re-releasing the same movie over and over again but for hi-def or home entertainment purposes, I'm glad I bought this collection. Let's hope GL doesn't make an extended edition on these films milking as for more money LOL.

Where is your source? Surely you're not going off of a wiki link with 3 reviews referenced. One of which is positive, one is mixed, and one is negative.

As for the current reviews there's absolutely nothing wrong with things being appreciated later down the line. Mann was ahead of his time and in retrospect people viewing the film now recognize it. I can promise you no one will ever look back on Red Dragon for anything.

Search every single article ever written about Manhunter back in 1986-1987 and the majority of them will be negative. Search every single article/biography ever written about Michael Mann and they'll all say the same thing: Manhunter was not a financial OR critical success.

It's not a conspiracy. :lol

Ok I finished Scream 4 last night. Awesome!! IMO the best one since the first movie. I can honestly say I did not know who the killer was at the end. I think my favorite aspect of this movie was how they even pick on the Scream movies themselves.
7.5/10.
There was a line at the end that sums up everything:
"You forgot the first rule of remakes, Jill. Don't F with the original!"

I have rated both 1 & 2 10/10 but I do prefer S2 a little more

The introduction of Saul really made this season for me

Very good at what it was trying to do. Few characters in film are more despicable than Lt. Dan in this one. Weird freak though he may be in the real world, Mel Gibson can act like a mother____er.

Drive 7/10. Just don't get why it's being raved about. It's not particularly exciting, there's lots of small scenes that build to nothing. Without Bryan Cranston I would have given it a 5.

1928 silent film 'Passion of Joan of Arc'. This film was thought to be lost to fire until the rediscovery of a print in the early 1980's.

I'm not a religious guy but I had always been interested to see this film. It focuses solely on her sham trail and execution.

Maria Falconetti is amazing in a performance where almost every shot of her is in close up of her face. Her performance is considered one of the best ever committed to film. She never acted again.

I caught this a little while ago on some channel. Probably one of the few silent films that ever interested me enough to watch (besides silent comedies). Definitely recommended.

Agreed. All of the Necromancer designs were great. I liked most of the Crematoria stuff, but it needed to be hotter during the scene where the bounty hunter ship is landing. ~1000 degrees should be no big deal to a spaceship.
