Sherlock Holmes: 9/10 Great acting, vibe and story! RDJ is perfect as Sherlock and he and Jude Law make a great team!! :rock

The Punisher: Warzone: 7.5/10 First time that I saw this. Nothing special in terms of story or acting, but a damn fun watch. Ray Stevenson is awesome! :rock
Way more bloody and violent than I expected. Not a bad thing though!

The Losers: 8.5/10 I really liked this. An awesome action film! Had a lot of fun watching that! :rock

Body Of Lies: 7/10 Kinda dissapointed by this one. I expected it to be better. A good film for sure, but nothing really special IMO.

The Ghost Writer: 8/10 A very good watch. The whole film had this great vibe of mystery and even desolation on the island. Definitely an interesting watch!

The Rundown (a.k.a. Welcome To The Jungle): 6.5/10 Just a fun action flick for a lazy Sunday night! Nothing particularly special.

B***ch Slap: 0/10 This is the most retarded film I've ever seen. I'm not even gonna bother writing anyting about it. Just avoid it!

Date Night: 6/10 It had it's moments, but looking at the fact that Tina Fey and Steve Carrell are in it, I expected something funnier.

Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun Li: 2/10 Just plain old boring. This makes the old Street Fighter with Van Damme look like a classic, so that says enough IMO.

That's actually the only reason I enjoyed the film. Takashi actually showed some control and restraint. I'm admittedly not the biggest Takashi Miike fan so I have no problems saying I think it's his best work.

It's a good film and compared to many modern samurai and ninja films this one stands above most of its contemporaries, but I found it oddly perfunctory and unsatisfying. I guess I wasn't expecting this to be a standard genre action film, which it was. I wanted something more subversive and surprising. I also thought the big battle scene was excessively long.

I suppose that this is one of his more mature works, but frankly I didn't want that. 13 Assassins is too restrained, too traditional. Also, keeping on the topic of restraint, I thought Audition was a great example of Miike's control of narrative and limiting the goriest stuff to the final moments of the film, where it would make the biggest impact. If that's not restraint I don't know what is.

Entity do you ever get off the couch? :lol

You post about 10 movies and 5 full seasons of a different show a day. :lol

:lol :rotfl Yeah, well there's a simple explanation for that...

1) The 9 movie post was made after a long weekend in which I didn't have access to the internet... So that's why it seems like a lot. Mind you, it is quite a lot, there aren't many weekends where I manage to watch 9 films :lol

2) All the seasons is kind of a coincidence... For some reason a lot of shows that I'm watching reached their season conclusions recently :lol

So that should explain it a little bit. Having said that, however, I do spend a lot of time watching films and shows, that is true! :lecture :lol

So, on with the next one :D

For anybody who has seen 13 Assassins , can someone explain something to me.

The hunter who guides them through the forest and ends up fighting with them in the final fight seemed a really skilled fighter which was strange I suppose. The thing that puzzled me though was that he was stabbed through the neck , then had his stomach sliced open but at the end came back with a perfectly fine neck and the slice on his stomach seemed barely noticable , he was then asked " Are you immortal ? ".
Who was this guy and why was he still alive after all that ?

I really can't find anything I liked about this one. I was expecting something like Smokin Aces or Lucky Number Slevin, but it seemed to be trying to channel Sin City or The Spirit a little too much.

Pretty good movie for not really knowing what it was about. I enjoyed the dorky chemistry between michael cera and kat denning's characters. Order of the Phoenix is my favorite of all the movies. At least for now. Deathly Hallows part 2 still needs to come out. But for now it's Order.

To me, Chamber feels the weakest... both the book and the movie. But, Goblet of Fire is so far from the book, it's ridiculous. So much is changed that it feels like the worst of them all because it's so different. I like the movie, don't get me wrong. Love it actually. But I absolutely do not like how different it is.

If you thought THAT was quality, you should maybe go to film school.

Camera work awful, pacing awful, dialogue, if you could call it that, just sounded like improv. The only thing of any quality in Blue Valentine was the acting the rest was amateurish at best.

The Stone Killer - 8/10 - This movie kicked some ass. A Dirty Harry knock off but a good one. Kinda like what if Dirty Harry was after the Godfather.

Yes the May 21st Rapture made me watch these. These movie can't be graded like normal ones. They are super low budget religious movies made only to try and scare kids in Sunday Bible School. I remember watching the first one and even back in the day tought it was cheese. After seeing them all on YouTube, the acting and scriping is down right horrible. I mean scraping the barrel horrible. But it has that 70's charm going for them. I do have to say the continuity is pretty damn good for a low budget movies covering a span of 12 or so years. The story carries along and they have most of the same actors and locations. Of course the rapture is all bs, but if you have a few hours to waste, I recommend them.

After seeing it, I'm a bit surprised at the negativity directed at this one. Not great. But I thought it was fun, with plenty of elaborate set pieces and charismatic characters played well by Depp, Rush, and McShane. Just like House or Monk or, well, Deadwood, you are really watching these films because of one or two characters more than anything else. And none of those three phoned this one in. Cruz was forgettable, but so what? I felt like it was worth the $7 I paid to see it.

I really thought my boyfriend would have to drag me to it, because I was really expecting it to be cheesy, but I loved it. It could've been a bad movie in the hands of anyone else, but as it stands it's a perfect example of how the right talent in front of the camera and behind it can make or break something.

I loved many of the characters, and the acting was fantastic. Hiddleston was amazing, and Hemsworth was surprisingly charming as Thor. This was really their movie. But I also liked Portman as Jane and Alexander as Sif (she was my second favorite character after Loki).

X-Men: First Class: 9/10 I loved it! It was really awesome! :rock :rock :rock
This might actually be my favourite X-Men film so far. The only one that might top it is X-Men 2, but I think it's too soon to say for sure!
Loved the story, loved the characters! The film has found a very good balance between realism and fantasy/sci-fi. It is a great, sometimes gritty, story with room for great action and some (not too much) very good humor!

The quality is phenomenal! Plus they've added more realism to it. When they tumble on the ground you can actually see the characters get grimey & when they fought it got bloody. The additional scenes adds a whole new depth to the movie. I cannot recommend this movie enough!

X-Men First Class
It was a great film. I have to say my first impressions of the movie were completely wrong.
Magneto is awesome in this.
I would say X Men 2 is still my favourite X-Men movie, but this has the hardest edge to any that we have seen before, and it's easily my second favourite

9 out of 10

Yep 1st of June in the UK too.
One thing I found out today is that the UK is not getting Super 8 until August 5, which has to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen in release dates. Especially when the build up has been shrouded in mystery

Fast Five - 9.5 out of 10, the second best in the series, (the best being the first). One of my favorite series.

Kung Fu Panda 2 - 7 out of 10, definately better than the first, and I liked how the expanded on Po

On August 5th I can finally watch Green Lantern, since that opens on the 4th... :slap

Why can't they just do simultaneous worldwide releases for films... :gah:

X-Men First Class: 7.5 / 10. It was really good. Not great like many have you believe, but that is my opinion that I would have much rather seen this story arc take place as a trilogy. Not enough time is spent with Charles and Erik as allies. That said, the movie itself was a lot of fun and the acting by Fassbender and McAvoy were terrific. Also, very solidly directed by Vaughn. The guy is no hack.

Favorite single scene: Magneto in the bar disposing of the two Nazis. That RULED!!!!

Even more stupid is that Super 8 would have had no competition if it came out next week, but when it comes out on August 5, it will be the same day as Rise of the Planet of the Apes. :slap I think the person responsible for not releasing Super 8 worldwide needs to be fired
