Dragonball Evolution, I finally saw it. I don't know what to say. I was disappointed.

I want it to be remade, but here are conditions:
I want Emmy Rossum, Joon Park, and Justin Chatwin to return as their characters for a remake.

Things I liked about the movie and would like to stay the same in a remake:
Grandpa Gohan should definitely stay casted as an asian man, it worked so well!
Whether or not they keep any actors or not, I want a caucasian Goku and Bulma, and an asian Yamcha.
I'd like Goku to be a 16-18 year old.
I'd Roshi to stay as an Asian, I don't think a caucasian actor would work well.
I'd like Goku's outfit to stay the same.

But, I want it to be a lot more faithful to the anime. I want all of the talking animals back, I don't want Goku to be in school, and I don't how Goku was Ooozaru, some one and only creature and not a saiyan. How stupid. Goku was also human....
And, I hated how Goku said in class that piccolo was a namek, but then Roshi said that he and oozaru were gods from the sky........

seriously, this movie had alot of potential, but they screwed it up. It had some good things, but it needs a remake. I don't want sequels, I want them to start over, and use Emmy Rossum, Joon Park, and Justin Chatwin again.

Just watched "(500) Days of Summer" with gf for her bday.

I'd give it 8.5/10, enjoyed it alot more than I expected too. Actually quite a good film imo

when Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks at his reflection in the car window the morning after shower sex, and sees Han Solo staring back as his reflection, almost made me spit out my drink lol. Caught me completely off guard

Hahaha hilarious spoiler

My name isn't Dusty, but that was a major snub as far as cinematography is concerned; I thought that film was superbly filmed.

Thats without even metioning music, costume design and screenplay, Dave Eggers and Spike did an amazing job taking a slight childrens book and turning it into an emotionally engaging movie for kids (and adults) that actually makes them think rather than just vegitating (admittedly Pixar are masters of this as well), but just saying!

Perfume 8/10
Second viewing, still disturbing, in a good way!

Fantastic 4: 7.5/10

Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer: 7.5/10

Both fun superhero movies, but while watching them I couldn't escape the thought that they might benefit from a remake... I know there have been talks about it, but I don't know what the status is now...

What I'd really like to see is a movie about The Silver Surfer! Preferably in the style of the animated series:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/84U7Nbg__64&hl=nl_NL&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/84U7Nbg__64&hl=nl_NL&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Basically a movie about his origin combined with an adventure on his search for planets for Galactus :rock
But also make it serious in a way that it shows the effect the Surfer and Galactus have on a doomed planet and it's population.

Zombieland - 1/10 - I have always disliked Woody Harrelson and his movies. I have also always disliked zombie movies. I also dislike too much gore in a movie.

Now, I knew what I was getting in to before I watched the movie. But with all the hype about how funny it was, I had to chance it as I absolutely LOVE good comedies.

Unfortunately...the fact that this SHOULD have been a movie I hated from jump street because it pretty much embodies all of what I consider to be the very worst things in movies rang through so clearly that it easily overpowered the itsy bitsy teeny weeny bit of good comedy that I found in the movie.

To balance out the fact that I will never give a movie a "10", I will also not give a movie a "0". So this one gets a "1" by benefit of sheer luck.

Zombie movie lovers should disregard this movie rating.

Enchanted ... shockingly ... 9/10.

I was expecting a direct-to-DVD-type kiddie movie. It was an ingenius mixture of princess-movie parody and serious treatment of the source material ... all wrapped-up in a romantic comedy that would appeal to adults and kids. Well cast, well acted, well written, and the soundtrack worked. A compelling modern re-telling of tried-and-true princess-movie cliches.

All-in-all ... a great Disney movie, a great "princess" movie (my 5-year-old daughter has loved it for quite a while), and a great romantic comedy. This from a guy that isn't particularly into chick movies or romantic comedies. I'm floored.

Can't really say much more than that; this was my feeling pretty much exactly! I really loved the shots of the Wolfman's face in the gunshot. Good ambiance, but the script felt a little pieced together.

and Rick Baker's makeup is awesome! I still love practical effects way more than CGI. Call me old-fashioned...

Since this is a 'rating' thread, I don't want really want to get into an argument about nuance in film, but it appears that some may have missed it in IB. The Nazi's were not dehumanized AT ALL; in fact, I found that the film did a good job making them all very human, especially the officer who was in love with the theater owner. (But then, if you didn't watch it all the way through, you missed the best part of his particular character arc.) Waltz's character was AWESOME in his selfish purpose; not because he was a Nazi, but because that's who he was. He could care less who he was fighting for, as long as he was on the winning side. Even Hitler had his humanity, albeit in a very wacked out way. (I LOVED him in the cape.)

I agree.. this is the nuance of IB... and Tarantino as he has progressed as a filmmaker.

Leap Year - 7 out of 10 - Saw it with a date on Valentine's Day. I always have a soft spot for romances. The lead actress in it is such a great bubbly actress, and the leading actor does a great job. I can't remember what I saw him in, but he was very likable. The two played off of eachother well. Just wished it had more substance, but I loved the scene shots of Ireland, and the story was just a cute well told one.

I also liked it a little more than I thought. I didn't think much of the last two (Goblet and Phoenix), but I was drawn in by the exquisite cinematography. Absolutely beautiful looking. The story, on the other hand, felt rushed and like big chunks were missing (because there WERE big missing chunks), even though it seemed to take its time with each scene. And the made up parts for the movie were a little WTF. And I didn't feel the emotion you should have felt at the end, which is a big mis-step to screw up THAT scene. But stunning to look at.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: 7/10

I also liked it a little more than I thought. I didn't think much of the last two (Goblet and Phoenix), but I was drawn in by the exquisite cinematography. Absolutely beautiful looking. The story, on the other hand, felt rushed and like big chunks were missing (because there WERE big missing chunks), even though it seemed to take its time with each scene. And the made up parts for the movie were a little WTF. And I didn't feel the emotion you should have felt at the end, which is a big mis-step to screw up THAT scene. But stunning to look at.

That film was a major disappointment imo. I liked all of the other movies a lot better. My favorites were Goblet of Fire and Chamber of Secrets.

I had seen parts of this movie but never saw the whole thing untill last night. Very great movie about Adolf Hitler's last days. The scene where Magda Goebbels murders her children is very unsetteling and may be one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen in film. The acting was top notch. The actor who portrayed Hitler deserved an Oscar. A great film that while doesn't really make you sympathize for Hitler, it still makes you realize he was a human being which really makes his atrocities all the more apalling and horriffic.

Wasn't as bad as I was expecting. But nothing remarkable. Just kinda blah and didn't like the changes to the mythos. I agree with most of your points although I felt the giant robot was simply a Bayformers rip-off. Loved the Harvester ships though. The movie really should have just been about John Connor - I mean, do we really care about a new character (Marcus) that was never mentioned even once previously?

Surprisingly good film. Some very complex ideas being tossed around without judgment being shoved down the viewer's throat. The pain on the judge's face when he orders a hanging, Eastwood going back to the whore when he can't watch, his constant conflict over what justice is and what his role should be toward achieving it, etc. I like a movie that doesn't insult the viewer's intelligence.

And there's an outhouse scene that really creeped me out - and it had nothing to do with the nazi zombies.

I thought Frost/Nixon was very good as well, and the performances were great, but I think it slowed down a little too much halfway through. It picked up really fast, threw you into the situation, but then it just kind of slogged its way through the middle until it got exciting again in the end.
That line from Nixon about fornication was very

I watched Shrek 2 and The Sting today =D

Shutter Island - 8.5/10 - liked it a TON. Halfway through it felt like it was breaking down, and I was like, WTF? But then it turned out that's how it's supposed to feel :lol I read the ending the same as you guys, and I actually want to see it again now that I know, to try to pick up on things as they happen. I'm also reading the book currently. Definitely a film that I will end up owning. Love the soundtrack too!

I think the lady in the cave made the ending not as clear cut as it played out.

The film definetly had a Kubrick kind of feel to it, in particular the scenes in the death camp. I imagine if Kubrick had directed a holocaust movie, it would have looked remarkably similar.

Fun for what it is... but not great by any means. Also, not really a zombie movie; more like pirates of the carribean as they were undead but had a purpose and intent in what they did.

I'm yet to see the Ten Commandments (though it's on my list), and I wasn't aware of Heston's politics until recently. The film, actor's personal life aside, is a tremendous accomplishment.
The story is epic, the characters believable and the chariot race, as mentioned before, is one of the best sequences I've ever seen on film. Heston might not be your favorite, but the story told in the film is worth watching, as is the supporting cast which does a great job.
