9 (not Nine) on BluRay - 5/10

Very disappointed with this one. Had high hopes, but it was kind of a mess, script-wise. Looked nice, some cool ideas, but not very well executed. And ultimately, forgettable. Too bad :(

Yeah, that was about the same reaction I had. One of those movies where things happen, but there is no real logical connection/meaning between the events.

Doubt: 7/10
Very good movie dealing with a very taboo subject. What especially is impressive is the interplay between the characters and how the movie gets you to question who to trust and even why you would trust them. I was most interested in this film because of Philip Seymour Hoffman, but Meryl Streep's performance was the show stealer.

Oh, and we finally got around to watching .Rec this past weekend (the Spanish original of Quarantine). 6.5/10 - I actually liked Quarantine a bit better. Didn't like the religious theme at the end of .Rec, and preferred the rabies explanation in Quarantine. Rabies is a terrifying disease and is not dealt with enough in cinema, IMO. Cujo!!!

RZ Halloween 2 2/10

This film is direct evidence of what happens when you think too much. I just don't get it. I am ashamed that I watched this ridiculous "visual" but as they say, curiousity killed the cat.

The reason I rated this film and actually gave it 2/10 was because of it's few cool visuals.

I would have rated it higher if the name "Halloween" wasn't attached to it's title.

I just saw this one too, but I wasn't quite sure how to rate it. As a Halloween movie it's terrible, but it was an interesting watch thanks to just how damn weird it was. That hospital sequence was good though. It's too bad the whole movie wasn't like that.

There's a good reason why rabies isn't covered more. All you'd have is a bed ridden person in extreme pain and confusion waiting for a shot or death which would come in about a weeks time if the shot didn't come. Just sayin'. :D

If this film were named say "Hillbilly Killer" I would have rated it about 4-5/10. It at times felt and looked like a made for t.v. movie. The quality was poor, the story was poor but again it had some decent visuals. The excessive violence was needed to supplement how bad everything else was. That being said the gore was a sad excuse to attempt "shock factor" as a distraction to how lame everything else was. It failed, period.

Meh my new girl forced me to watch this with her. You know I tried to have an open mind about this since I have a few friends who like the movies and books but this movie was just aweful. Everyone looked like they stepped out of an Ambocrombie and Fitch or Hot Topic store (both of which I despise). The acting and dialoge was over the top. Even Kristen Stewart who I belive is a decent actress was bad in this however she is still the only reason I gave this movie a 1/10 instead of a 0/10. The entire time I just wanted to punch the Edward character right in his allready flat nose and after the "glitter" scene I couldn't handle it anymore so I went off and played some video games with my gf's brother.

The story is so hazy and winds up being some halff-assed conspiracy. So many extra characters thrown in for "fun" but none of them have any developement whatsoever. It's a huge misconception in Hollywood that an accent or natioality gives a character depth. Similar to the other X-Films the casting is good, the story is crap and because o that the direction is ____.

The Taking of Pelham 123.

7/10

I enjoyed it. Better than I thought it would be after hearing that a few people I know didn't like it to much.
Theres not many movies with Travolta other than Pulp Fiction that ever seemed to interest me so it was great to see him playing a part I could enjoy again.

I liked Pelham quite a bit. I can count on one hand the Travolta movies I've liked ... Face Off, Pulp Fiction, A Civil Action and Pelham. That's pretty much it. Broken Arrow wasn't horrible as cheesy action movie go.

Probably would've liked this more, but I haven't seen Royale in a long time (and I only saw it once) so I was mostly confused. But even with the confusion I still enjoyed it quite a bit.

Romancing the Stone 7/10
Classic 80's movie, cheesey romantic comedy adventure at its best.

Damn what a good scary movie... had a lot of very chilling scenes and the payoff at the end was very well done. Can't recommend this one high enough.

Holy hell... I knew this wouldn't be good, but it was literally the sloppiest and most nonsensical parody flick I've ever seen. I've always had a soft spot for movies like Naked Gun, Scary Movie, etc... but rather than sticking with the genre the movie tried to spoof everything and about 3 minutes into the 5 minute or so parody of High School Musical I gave up. Easily one of the lamest things I've tried to watch in a while :lol

IngloUrious Basterds 4 out of 10

I don't want to upset the BasaTARDS.
;) jk.

As for Aldo. If only he and the other Basterds were in the film a bit more, instead of being prolonged cameos, then it would have scored much higher.

Legion 2/10

Wow, what a bad, bad movie. The movie had some of the worst acting I've seen in a while and the whole plot (if there actually is one) makes zero sense. Full of great wtf moments and dramatic speeches that don't related to the present situation... this movie is a total mess. And best part:

In the end of the movie the mother is able to hold onto her baby when the car flips over at 110mph, wtf!!!

Legion - 3 out of 10 ... So much potential, but couldn't live up to it. Great lead actor, build up was exciting, and then... NOTHING! Just got worse as the movie went on. The trailer rocked and made this film look worthwhile seeing. Teasers are an appropriate name for trailers, as I was definitely teased.

The Road - 6 out of 10 ... Great acting -the kid, but what a depressing slow paced movie.

Bored of these "end of the world" flicks. Next movie has to be a fun light-hearted comedy.

The Fox & The Hound: 7/10 I love these traditional animation movies! I had seen this one only once before, and I only could remember the ending... which, I'd say now, was one of the only memorable parts of the movie... Still it was an enjoyable watch.

Die Hard 2: Die Harder: 8/10 I actually enjoyed this more than Die Hard. Although the villain isn't nearly as cool and memorable as Hans Gruber, I have to say I enjoyed this one's action and setting more as the first one's.

Gran Torino: 9/10 I saw it for the first time last night with some friends. What an awesome movie! Very good, sometimes shocking, story and a great performance by Clint Eastwood IMO. The scenes at the barbershop were awesome!! :lol
Too bad that Korean kid was a bit of a crappy actor at times though...

Not the first time I've seen it, but first time in a while. Forgot how crazy and how much of a downer this movie is. Probably the most effective anti-drug movie in terms of making you feel what the characters are going through.

The Hangover - 7/10

Comedy is tough to do, and this movie was so hyped up I was expecting non-stop laughs. While there were some hilarioius moments, it wasn't the riot I was expecting.

Pandorum - 6/10

Better than I expected. Yea, it was a bit predictable at times, and there were a couple goofy plot holes, but the tension was built well. Think Wall-E without any cute robots. And instead of the ship's passengers getting fat and lazy, they go all Reaver.

Also, this isn't a clear "war is hell" movie. It also illustrates that, for some, war "is a drug". Did you not read the intro and gather that from Sgt. James' character?

Twilight - 3/10

Well, I finally got around to watching this thanks to Showtime. I actually thought the first 45 minutes or so was okay, then the whole thing fell apart when they got into the vampire part of the story. It turned silly with the bad special effects and extreme close-ups. And why would vampires who were over 100 years old want to continue to go to high school and act like teenagers? It was also at least 15 minutes too long.

I love that one too and I like to revisit that one the most as well. The dialogue is so snappy and fun, and it's got great energy and pace. The first one is brilliant too, but the third one's a blast (pun intended) and grabs hold of you right away. **sigh** I wish John McTiernan still made movies like this. The second one's okay, but I feel it's a bit of a rehash of the first, and once you've experienced thedouble-cross for the first time, the subsequent viewings aren't as exciting.

The last one just didn't do it for me, as an action movie or a Die Hard movie.

oh i absolutely saw that part in the intro and saw how she portrayed the difficulty of going from one tense extreme to the mundane of everyday life and his need to get reassigned/ I am just saying that the movie didn't do much for me as an illustrative point since it's been done so many times, plus we are now living in the time of this war in Baghdad. I wasn't experiencing vietnam. And it winning best picture doesn't mean squat to the lay people, if you go by the critics I DARE YOU TO SIT THROUGH THE MOVIE 'BRIGHT STAR', then talk to me about critics.
