Andre the Giant HBO documentary: 7.5/10

Very well done for what it was. Heavy on the emotion and tragedy, and the mythological characteristics of this iconic wrestler. I learned some new stuff about the guy, and I'm a pretty big rasslin' fan. You don't see Vince McMahon getting that emotional very much.

Thor: ragnorok 8/10

So good ! Just a fun time watching a movie. Love the bad ass Thor action scenes too (it's a shame the two best action scenes book end the movie ). Love the villain with the skeleton henchman,. Love the costumes, the looks. Just so much heart, complete opposite of most marvel movies. Funny how it ended up being the saving grace of the characters after two awful movies.

Super Troopers 2 4/10.. if you are going to make a gross out comedy make sure it's at least better than the first one.And if making fun of Canadian and French Canadian accents is your main focus for getting laughs. Then do it,make it terrible.Don't think that just because you are close to getting it right that it's going to be funny.3 truly funny moments when people in the Theater actually laughed.

I thought Luke Evans was good as Gaston, even though he was way too scrawny. Hugh Jackman would’ve been fun.

I really liked it, but i have to say was expecting more. I thought it was going to be mind blowing since there was a lot of hype. It was very good, but I think i was just expecting a bigger twist.

Infinity War - 7.5/10

Just a few things that knocked the score down for me.

They crammed a lot into this and did it as well as anybody could but it still needed to have a few more of those slower moments that balance a movie out.

I hate what was done with Banner in this. He was less of a calm, intelligent scientist whoís trying to contain the massive power he possesses like we saw in Avengers and more of that bumbling idiot that Ragnorok sadly introduced.

And Marvel showing Hulk in the trailers getting ready to take on Thanosí legions and instead we get RuffaloBot poorly done in cgi at times.

Other than that the movie was a blast with some good emotional scenes at times.

Infinity War - it's fine.../10

If Thor was a bit faster (and smarter) he would have killed Thanos, why was he late? was it because he was fighting the Outriders? nah because it was necessary for the plot. This is the sort of thing that annoys me in movies. The rest of the movie is ok, the Black Order sure looks cool but they suck. Now let's wait for Cap Marvel to come in the next movie and save the day yay! I guess...

Oh without a doubt it's the only one following T2 that can somewhat keep my interest. I do appreciate the bleak ending.

I'll have to give the T4 a read too. I appreciate the chance it took, but it's awful writing and poor cinematography killed it for audiences... not to mention it took them out of their comfort zone of the protectminator not being a thing in it.

T6 from the little I know about it, looks like it might be the worst thing to ever debut under the franchise.

I know some of you guys love it (Riddick) but I just can't get into it. I feel if there was a stronger supporting cast I'd feel differently, or if Harrigan wasn't one dimensional. I do like that the last leg of the film is pretty long with him chasing Pred from the meat freezer, rooftop, apartment building to the ship.

I like the effects in it and the new gadgets Pred had. One thing that really bugs me is when Pred says "Mother ****er", they used a puppet head instead of Kevin Peter Hall. The fake bug eyes always distracted me where as in P1 it's KPH with contacts and the mandibles on his mouth.

DOFP is a good first time experience, and that's it. I just can't get into it a second time.

I tend to like X1 more than X2, but it ain't by much. It's mostly due to what a **** head Jackman was in it, which is more in tune with Logan's abrasive personality. I still think the whole cage fight to him cutting the shotgun in half is the best segment in the history of CBMs.

I still remember seeing him pop the claws out to the guys throat, and they made the snikt so deafening that it startled you in the theater.

X2 is damn good, and it's one of like five sequels that truly feels like it's in the same world as the previous film if that makes sense. I know pedo Singer did both, but it's very hard to replicate the feel like that.

Yeah I get exactly what you're saying, I give X2 the edge just for the story and exactly that, feeling like it takes place in the same world as the first. They just expanded on everything better. The mansion attack is great (too bad they couldn't go full Logan at the time but it still holds up to this day) along with the opening scene with nightcrawler, just great stuff. I'm more of a Magneto fan as well, so that may be why I enjoy the 2nd a bit more. X2 is probably only bested for sequels probably by The Dark Knight. IMO

DOFP is one you definitely have to be in the mood for. Just like Logan, they are good films by I tend to doze off in the middle. :lol

X2 is the best way to escalate a story without it being too overblown. It didn't try to eclipse the previous film, just reasonably increase the plot.

I do like some of DOFP, and to a degree I thought Logan was decent. I just find both have a lot of underutilization of time within them. More so with Logan. I think on paper the plot is fine, I just feel the middle of it felt like a chore. DOFP is a more toned down film with the action garbage that was in X3, but I feel it was too subdued.

I think what they did with Magneto was good in DOFP, but then it's just repeated again in Apoop. Derp Peenex is going to be a bomb.

Yeah, about 30 minutes could be trimmed from Logan honestly. Don't even get me started on Apocalypse. My god that movie is horrible. It was on HBO a while back and I caught it, I just don't see what the point of that entire movie was besides making X bald. :lol

I hope this new X-Men set in the 90's is good or I might be done with the franchise for a while. X,X2, FC, DOFP and Logan are good enough for me. Oh, and Deadpool, I liked the first hopefully the second is fun too.

Yeah, I hope it doesn't bomb. I'm liking the trailers and stuff but that only gets so far, Deadpool is another film that is great the first few times you watch it, but because of the humor rewatches dwindle. Maybe it's an X-Men franchise problem at this point, though I'd argue it's most movies nowadays.

Brolin does look good as Cable though, and I'm glad they didn't change the suit.

I just wish he was taller. Cable is supposed to tower over Wade. Although I don't mind the design of his look, I just think his rifle is a cluster ****. They took a bunch of real world rifles and glued them together.

Black Panther -7 out of 10
Good story, acting, and art production. Some bad camera work, bad editing, and some of the music was bad and how it was at times improperly used in the movie (it became distracting from the story and dialogue at times).

The Commuter- 6 out of 10
The story was a slow buildup, a bit too slow in the beginning at times, but really became stronger as the movie played along. Basically a thriller at the beginning that becomes an action movie at the end. A couple of good fight scenes and an interesting premise.

Annihilation -?/10

Liked it, but not sure what number rating to give it.

Pro:

Very interesting and with a very creepy moment
Art production on this alone would make me watch again.

Cons:

The flashbacks felt like they hindered the movie, slowed it down too much.

It was a blind buy ($5, believe it or not) but I'm happy I got it, even if I may not watch it often.

Miami Vice movie - 2/10 (as an adaptation of the show).... as a generic crime drama movie - 5/10

Wow way better than the first time I saw it. I think I fell alseep in theaters and woke up to a very shocking ending. Easily one of the best moments in Star Wars history

Hereditary - 9/10

Basically left me speechless. Plays on two of my biggest fears ( your family turning on you , and guillttt!!!!). Some raw stuff, and some jaw dropping moments. Definitely more of a slow burn with drama elements. Some scenes seemed excruciatingly drawn out on purpose to drive you crazy. But unforgettable, rushing back to see it. Double Feature:
Empire Strikes Back 10/10
The Last Jedi 8.5/10

This is actually a very interesting combo to watch back to back. I can completely see Empire Luke making the same mistakes that Last Jedi Luke made. Looking ahead instead of paying attention to the moment at hand and making decisions based on his emotions and inner turmoil rather than what is presented in front of him (Empire Luke ending his training early because of visions that his friends will be in pain/ displaying no patience for Yoda's teachings VS. TLJ Luke almost killing Ben from his future visions of what Ben will do and deciding to end the Jedi Order because it will just create the cycle again instead of training someone who needs his help) I know I am in the minority around here but the decisions Luke made in TLJ make complete sense when you take into account the character flaws Luke displayed in the OT. In Jedi he was a different person, however when he failed spectacularly with Ben, it makes sense to me that he made the decision to find the first Jedi Temple and want to destroy the earliest teachings along with removing himself from the war which came along with his mistakes. He regressed in the face of failure. But I'm the end, Luke Skywalker always finds a way to see his mistakes and do what is right. My favorite cinematic hero and the TLJ amplifies my love of the character.

Hereditary -7.6/10

A better than average psychological horror film, well worth the price of admission. Beautiful 70's inspired composition, with a lead performance reminiscent of Shelley Duvall in The Shining. However, The Shining this movie is not. Don't pay too much attention to the hype, if you're an avid horror fan.
