In reality, it's like a 2/10 but it's so awful that it becomes great. You'll never see a movie this stupid made again(especially with the likes of Hopper and Hoskins), and that makes it special in a weird, grindhouse sort of way.

Tangled - 10/10

I love this movie. Second to Lion King as far as Disney movies go. Great balance of girly princess movie to dashing scoundrel boy movie.

Glengarry Glen Ross - 10/10

I am not sure if I've seen a movie any more naturally acted or real as this one. I saw it nearly 10 years ago before watching it for a second time today and it's just as great as I remember it being.

It's not really a bad score though, what didn't you like?

I felt generous. It's an ambitious film, but I felt Oscar Isaac's character was way too lackadaisical to be an AI developer... and why was he loaded all the time? I didn't buy his character at all. The ending felt too bleak I guess, and a little anti-climatic. I love bleak endings, but this one I didn't care for.

I'm a huge Alex Garland fan, so I was surprised I didn't like it.

TMNT(2014) - 6/10 Wasn't terrible but was way to choppy and they never really focused on the turtles themselves. The fight scene animation with Shredder was horrible and his design was dumb as hell. I ended up liking the new turtle designs better.

Holy ****, one incredible film. Story doesn't seem original, but rather the references weaved in makes this insane.

Yeah I meant it in the sense that it still had a Frankenstein and Prometheus kind of story and vibe.

Still a much better A.I story in comparison to the plethora of stories we've been getting lately. I just read some analysis, and Im slowly agreeing that it is far more original than I contemplated.

Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him - 7.5/10

This is an interesting film, and by the title I definitely was misled by the idea that this was some Gone Girl, with a wife missing and the husband in search for her. However, I am extremely surprised that it was about a tragedy in which was NOT explained in the Him version until the end when McAvoy is speaking with Hinds; which was kind of uncomfortable cause I'm just thinking, 'Where the **** are your Wildlings, Mance?' :lol

Overall, performance was pretty good. I am most definitely in love with the beautiful Jessica Chastain, which I was not a fan of because of Zero Dark Thirty, but she has grown on me immensely.

McAvoy was witty and funny, though his usual character when it comes to romantic tragedy films, kind of felt very close to Atonement. Hader, I just can never take seriously, it just doesn't look right especially with his comedy background. That's like getting Aziz Ansari as Frank Castle. But yeah, that's about it. Story is definitely depressing, but definitely felt very choppy, however that leads to the viewing of:

Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her - 9/10

I kind of understood where this was going. Honestly though, I just got lucky with the order I played em, because Him makes much more sense when leading to Her.

I enjoyed the way Eleanor was portrayed here, you get something tragic, with some form of maturation and beauty.

Viola Davis' character annoyed the **** out of me, honestly, it was far too cliche with her character in this film. After watching this however, I was really annoyed with how the continuity didn't match between the two; however, with my careful consideration; the idea was how vague memory can be, and how we can never get the same memory exactly the same with tone, wording, body language, and so forth.

It was creative and an interesting film.

So after watching them in this order, I give the series an 8.75/10

Very depressing film, but if you get bored and want to try something new, I would recommend this. There is the Them version; which I feel is redudant after seeing Him and Her, but I believe they are all on Netflix, and something to give a go.

The Mean Season 8/10

Suspense thriller from 1985 with Kurt Russell and Mariel Hemingway. I saw it once a long time ago and totally forgot about it until I flipped channels across the middle of it on TV one day. Tracked down a copy and thoroughly enjoyed it. There's a palpable tension throughout with good performances by the leads. And it's a well-handled commentary on how the media sometimes does more than just report the news, and how they can cross the line and help make it.

I Spit On Your Grave (1978) 22/100

Obviously rape is terrible, but I still wouldn't say this is the worst film I've ever seen. It was filmed very well. I like the lack of music. I kept imagining F13th string sounds in the background. It was believable, and that in itself gives the film some merit. My wife watched it with me, and surprisingly agrees with my rating. Also the picture quality was excellent, audio was sh**.

Interstellar (2014) - 7/10

Good, not great. It tried to be too "deep" for its own good, IMO. I did like how it played with the timelines and it's two big emotional moments actually did really work for me but overall I kept feeling like the movie somehow made it too obvious that it was *trying* to be a masterpiece which was one of the reasons I couldn't appreciate it as one.

Rocky - 90/100. I finally saw the entire thing, not just snippets here and there. I'm not sure if this is the definitive underdog movie, but it's pretty damn close.

Thor: The Dark World - 71/100. Adequate, serviceable. Loki, as usual, steals the show.

8/10

I preferred this to Ultron. I teared up in parts. I watched it mainly out of curiosity to see Anthony Ingruber playing a young version of Harrison Ford's character, a role he got due to his impression's on youtube and his ability to actually look like a young Harrison Ford aswell. Pretty good, incidentally so was Ford himself I thought, often accused of phoning it in these days. Anyway I found the film good in its own right.

If it wasn't so punch in the face like it was with the body horror, I don't think it would of been as successful. Plus, Howard Shore's music in it puts it on a whole other level.

There's very few I give a pass. The Fly and The Thing were stellar remakes of films from a completely different era of film.

"The Fly" is a short story by George Langelaan.

Beautiful-looking and supremely well-acted film, as you'd expect from Scorsese. That said, I guessed the twist completely accurately when he had the first flashback of his wife and found the pacing to be cumbersome - yet another modern film where the importance of editing went by the wayside.

Nah, monster design was funny looking (very small eyes, giant ears, etc) and the scene took so much screen time I started to laugh. The sex scene with Marsha was better but still kinda hilarious because of poor acting. The script didn't make sense in terms of storytelling and cheesy characters felt boring because the directing was pretty much straightforward.

It's so bad, it could've been a comedy. My gf bugged the **** of me too, but we both ended up laughing through the whole movie

Howling 2 is easily the worst in the franchise followed by 3 IMO. Though I don't think I have seen the last 1 or 2 films.

The acting in Howling 2...it was just...I have seen better acting in fan films. It was just so bad. Probably the worst acting I have ever witnessed.
Then you have Christopher Lee there. What the ****. [emoji38]

There is an awesome song in the movie though.

It's not Carpenter's best film, that's reserved to The Thing.

For Russell Trilogy for me it's:

The Thing > Escape from New York > Big Trouble in Little China

Rango: 9/10

One of the best (and also most tragically overlooked) movies of its kind. Also I swear to god George Miller ripped off great chunks of this film for Fury Road.

My day:
The Godfather Part III - not at the exceptional level of the first two, but still a good film. Has a few clunky moments but has more that capture the brilliance of the first two perfectly. 8/10

For A Few Dollars More - 9/10

American Psycho - 8/10

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - 10/10. The final showdown is some of the most electrifying filmmaking you'll ever watch. Though I do sometimes wish that the ADR dubbing was better - vast sections of all three films have some dodgy synchronisation.

The Thing is a work of art. One of the aspects I really love is, you never know the order of infection at all outside of Bennings being turned. You're left to draw your own conclusions.

Million Dollar Baby - Why do I depress myself/10

It's a great movie, very emotional, and I personally love it. Hilary is amazing, she does a good job at not being some bitchy chick. She genuinely wants to be the best, and that confidence is amazing. But I can't go watching it without depressing myself. Red Wedding is the only thing more depressing for me to watch besides this. :lol

Van Helsing 2004 - 6/10

Remove Frankenstein's monster, Dracula's silly baby vampire plot, replace the cheesy tone with a more serious one and this could have been a great movie IMO.

Dracula and his brides had great personalities. They were charismatic, sinister, elegant, etc. It's just the cheese and cringe-worthy dialogue that bring their performances down.

The creature designs were all fantastic except Frankenstein's monster. I think these are the definitive werewolves for me.

Overall I think the movie had great potential and could have been one of the best in the genre, but there's a lot of needless stupidity that holds it back.

My uncle turned me onto it years ago. It's my favorite of Clint's directed films. It's almost two films simultaneously, both a Boxing film and a love story between a father and his daughter.
