Blindness.... 6/10
I rated it low because this movie pissed me the hell off. All those punk ass men handed their woman over like it was nothing.

8/10 for the rest of the movie. It was eye openning so to speak. I was glued to the screen but that part of the movie literally turned my stomach. It is one of those movies i will never watch again even though it was good.

It's strange how some movies have that effect. I had the same thing with Talladega Nights. I watched it twice and both times I had a "meh" feeling. About 2 months ago I watched it again and I thought it was hilarious...

The first hour or so led this film up to becoming an easy 9/10 but fell very short for the last 30 mins or so. Nicolas Cage was very good in this film too.

The army of David Bowies was kind of lame ............ its getting kind of boring watching hollywood reinvent the "God" wheel. Taking something "similar" to what is prophesied as the end of times and throwing their cheesy twist on it.

What a waste (let down) of an excellent start.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - 2 out of 10 stars

No memorable moments. Predictable love stories, acting was stagnant at best, and the story went no where. Too many slow scenes that made the movie drag on, and no pay off in the end for dragging us along for what seemed like half a day. Definitely one of the worst movie going experiences of the year.

I felt like this was a story that didn't need to be told, or at least not in the length it was told in. Very disappointed!

Watchmen - 7.5/10

You really couldn't ask for a more faithful adaptation, the performances all seemed right on and it was beautifully shot, but still something gets lost in the translation. It's definitely a story better read than passively viewed.

Well for the record a 6.5 rating in my books = something half decent. Nothing special. AVP had some of the lamest "Predator" scenes I have ever seen. Like when one of them became buddy buddy with her, jogging along side like pals. The whole "vs" idea for any movie is plain stupid to begin with.

I bought the 2 disc special edition for $5.99 .............. the same cost to rent it.

CelticPredator
07-22-2009, 12:06 PM
While the team up sucked...the thing is, AvP has a decent visual style to it. It looks like a movie. And its pretty fair. AvP-R was just one Predator kicking ass. Now I love the Predator...but I also love the Alien. And I hate to see one get ^^^^^ed out.

Plus I hate the Predalien..and every useless homage.

But really, both suck to me. I give AvP about a 5, and R about a 3.

The Ring - 8/10 - Still a great horror movie with fantastic mood and atmosphere.

First Blood - 10/10 - Never tire of watching it. Sly's best IMHO.
Rambo: First Blood Part II - 8/10 - Pure fun action, nothing else.
Rambo III - 8/10 - Good action movie, on the same level and the second movie.
Rambo - 8.5/10 - Rambo comes full circle. Violent and relenteless. I knock have a point due to the obvious cgi gore.

Predator 2 - 6.5 - First time watching it since it came out in the theaters, Danny Glover is no Arnold. It was decent, but to many nods to the first movie (ugly mother ^^^^er, Danny covered in ash) and to much camp, especially after the Predator gets his hand cut off (kept from falling off the ledge by holding onto Glovers arm, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight :lol)

What brings down Watchmen, for me, is two things:

1. Really should've been a miniseries...you just can't fit it all in and make it flow in such a brief period of time...though when they have the "Ultimate" edition with Tales of the Black Freighter it may work better...

2. Malin Ackerman is, hands down, the WORST actress I've ever seen. How she keeps getting jobs is beyond me. Sure, she LOOKS the part, but she sure can't act it (case in point - the scene with multiple Manhattans, where she says "Jon, what are you doing?" Worst line delivery I've EVER seen.

If it weren't for those two (admittedly BIG things) it would rank a 10 in my book...as it is now, around a 7.5.

Die Hard: 10/10 (Perfect action movie.)

"Now I have a machine gun.

Ho-Ho-Ho"

One of Moviedoms best one-liners...even though it was not spoken directly.

The Hangover: 7/10. Pretty funny.

The Crimson Rivers: 5/10. Didn't understand the story very well at all.

Aladdin: 9/10. One of Disney's best, love that Genie.

Mulan: 8/10. Soft spot for this one, Mulan being the only real heroine in the Disney girl line-up. (Well, of the ones I've seen anyway...I didn't see anything that came out after Emperor's New Groove.)

Just watched it last night on Blue Ray. I really liked this film. If I remember it got lots of hate. Brad Pitt was funny as hell in this. I also liked George C's quirks. :lol

I gave it an 8 out of 10. :rock

Not everyone - I know a bunch of people who liked it. But to me it felt very disjointed, edited badly, and confusing. I wonder why they choose to include some things from the book but leave others out, stuff that would make the story more clear and concise.

It was the second time I saw it and I have to say I liked it better this time. Robert Downey Jr. has some great paranoid dialoges. The story is quite ok too, IMO and the overall rotoscope animation technique looks very cool. I think that if this film was being made in live-action without the animation, I would've liked it less.

Crimson Rivers: Angels of the Apocalypse: 6/10. I missed Vincent Cassel's character.

May: 9/10. What an interesting movie. Would have given it a 10 if the end was clearer. I interpreted that she was hallucinating the body coming alive because she was dying. My boyfriend disagreed.

Mulan II: 6/10. Pretty good for a Disney sequel.

I saw that film too a couple of weeks ago. Pretty interesting indeed. I also thought it was a hallucination instead of real.

True dat!

The Uninvited - 6.5/10 - Good-enough movie, but predictable at every turn.

Benjamin Button - 9/10 - Very interesting. The hilarious part of watching this movie was that, after not wanting to see it because I do not support Matt Damon efforts...half-way through the movie I remarked to my wife that I really thought Matt looked like Brad Pitt when he was made up as an old man.

Yep - She laughed. And laughed.

Then she laughed some more.
