Curse Of Chucky - 8/10 - I know i'm bias as a HUGE fan, however it made my expectations HIGH ;) Right, first off I loved it. A real stand alone in the series, after it could have easily gone stale. I think the casting was solid and believable, the pacing returned to that of the earlier movies too. The effects were familiar yet fresh, some genuinely SHOCKING kills! ;)

Most notably, it felt like a horror flick again with hints of dark humour like the good 'ol days. The cameos were a great little reward to the Chucky fan base as well.

However, rose tinted shades aside! It isn't without some issues for me. The last 30 minutes or so became a bit rushed and crudely constructed for me, also the flashback with the sunflowers devalued Charles Lee Ray for me. Just unnecessary to be honest.

So all in all, a refreshing sequel, with top kills, great one liners and enough jumpy moments to satisfy this Chucky fan! :) Hi Dee Ho ;)

Its definitely a polarizing movie. Like Tree of Life was to many.
Ive watched this a few times now and like it more with each viewing.
Its odd cause many people claim the movie "goes nowhere" while I feel it goes everywhere.

Ok, you've swayed me. :lol I'll check it out.

Very funny and enjoyable. A lot of stoner and bodily fluid jokes. It was actually a lot more intense than I was anticipating, especially for a comedy. I must admit that I didn't know where the story was really headed, or how far they would take things. Everyone was great, but Michael Cera was fantastic! And Emma Watson was pretty good too. Apparently she was supposed to pop up again at the end, but during filming she freaked out at what was going on in the scene and quit right there and then. So it feels strange that you don't see her again without an explanation. Don't worry--it's not a spoiler.

This guy does special effects work for movies and is hired to fake a mob execution for a guy in witness protection until he winds up in danger himself and teams up with a cop. He uses his skills to turn it around on them. Actually a pretty entertaining flick though nothing really mind blowing, not a bad way to kill some time.

The second is about the main character and cop again, both now retired as the movie guy gets sucked into helping a police sting. They got a little carried away with some of the stuff in this one but it's still got some unique and fun scenes like a fight with an RC robot.

They're both sort of low budget b-flicks but have a genuine charm about them.

The story is get home. If you can appreciate film as an art form, you'll very much enjoy Gravity.

Not all films are about the story. Some times it's about the visceral experience of the thing. I know you appreciate good cinema, so you will indeed enjoy it. Don't listen to anyone else here.

Gravity 9/10

I sat with my jaw open for an hour and a half. I was mesmerized by the beautiful ballet of space survival Cuaron put on screen. Many will hate this film because it is not what Hollywood would typically put out (it is more about surviving this situation these two astronauts find themselves in rather than a fully developed story) What also shocked me was Sandra Bullock carrying this film on her own when I really do not like her in general. She was actually fantastic.

This is my favorite film of the year. I cannot see anything topping it. See it on the biggest 3D screen possible. I am going to find the nearest IMAX 3D screen and watch it again.

World War Z -- 8/10. I thought it was quite good, actually. Nothing like the book, but good taken on its own. I thought the solution was clever ... a unique solution in a genre where they're hard to come by. I also thought the swarming zombies was unique. I hadn't seen anything like that before. The fall of Jerusalem was well done. I liked the broader scale of this movie as opposed to most zombie flicks ... which tend to be very focused on a few people trying to survive.

Anybody seen the 'unrated' cut? Any difference? I know there was an original ending with some bloody battle somewhere in Russia, but I don't know if it ever saw the light of day after it tested poorly.

An amazing movie experience. Visually it ripped off my face. Audio soundfield blew me away... The soundtrack, shifting from bombastic to the dead silence helps push the tension level throughout. You're not watching a movie, you're in the middle of this woman's harrowing journey. It's a unique thing to see, a combination of hyper realistic imagery combined with somewhat minimalistic camera work... There's no camera cuts almost 20 minutes.... it all works spectacularly. It grabs you from the first frame and doesn't let up. I think I just saw this generations 2001.

Because it's Del Toro. And he's a geek, he's one of us, and he loves monsters like we do. So everyone's gonna be all over it. I love the creature and mech design but I couldn't get behind the fights, even in 3D it was just these bad shots of the fights. Only a few times when you can see them fairly well did I really feel impressed.

If anything I'm more impressed with seeing the new Godzilla from Gareth Edwards, who also did the film Monsters, which seemed like a precursor to doing Godzilla. Monsters was alright, as it was more survival and story driven, but I can't wait to see the new Godzilla.

Most definitely! Which is interesting how much Elysium was done as if it was in that same District 9 universe. I think Blomkamp will be a lot like Del Toro in the sense that you'll see his style really permeate into his films.

Although not as much as Burton's films.

Really enjoyed this movie. Initially chosen by my wife i was a little sceptical at first but the great twist and turn story line made this movie a big hit for me and really enjoyed. Its basically a child abduction story line but one which will keep you guessing all the time. Gotta love the way the director decided to end the movie....talk about leaving you wanting more! :panic::panic:

Over the last week I have watched Virus which was enjoyable enough, I'll give it a 7 out of 10.:wink1: I watched Deep Rising which I hadn't seen in a while and I just love the film. It is full of action, threat and of course the monster from the deep.I thought I would cover this just in case someone has not seen the film and I don't want to give it away. I hate it when that happens. I give this a 8 out of ten.:wink1: I also watched Machete. This is insane. It stars Danny Trejo and Steven Seagal. It is so violent it is almost funny if you know what I mean. It is an all round good v evil movie, but the good not having the normal restrictions as they do in other films. The good is as violent as the evil. I give this a 9 out of 10.:clap Then I watched Hobo With A Shotgun staring Rutger Hauer. This too is insane and the bad guys in this too are so bad that the good guy has to be as bad as them to win. I give this a 9 out of 10 too.:clap

Who was the goofball who said Gravity sucks? They need to get their brain overhauled. It was awesome! The only thing I noticed off, is Sandra Bullock's (Ryan's (?)) tears were going down then off her cheek. In space, it is proven that when you cry, the water wants to jump up vs. go down. After all, there is no "gravity" in space. Something I figure the filmmaker would have looked into.

There is a link somewhere, where the Canadian astronaut aboard the ISS was being interviewed and showed the Nation the effects of tears in space. I know, **** of me, much? haha

Still, aside from that misnomer of action goof up (yes I know what misnomer means, I just never get to use the word... someone else can use it as a result of this), I give it an 8 out of 10.

Captain something starring Tom Hanks.

Forgot the title already.

Would have been an 8 out of 10 movie, but some moron decided to bring an Autistic person to the theatre so he can yell through out the entire movie. I am not mad at the Autistic person. They can't help it. I blame the moron who was there with him. Know your person and what they are capable of. The minute he makes noise, get him out of there. A bunch of us had to get our money back. I feel really bad for the guy... lots of people were pissed off, and hope the anger was towards his buddy who got him there, who decided to stand in the isle, vs. sit with him. Also blame the understaffed theatre I was at for not doing their job of checking in on the noise.

Given what I could get out of the film, it was a 6.5-7 for me. In another setting I would have given it more, however I was taken out of it from the constant yelling. My friend didn't want to leave. He felt it added to the movie. Go figure, yet this is the same guy who has zero patience as a driver and has a bit of road rage that comes out from time-to-time. lol

What?! :horror That film's a classic and the transformation scene hasn't been bettered in any film since.

I can't deny that about the transformation scene, but the movie as a whole wasn't that great to me anymore.

This Is The End -6/10
About an hour too long, and started just drifting off a storyline towards the middle. And the ending was just retarded.

Just saw the new Carrie movie. It's really great.I don't want to say it was as good as the original but it's updated for the new generation.People will say the original was more thrilling but the new one has it's moments too. Julianne Moore is amazing and ChloŽ Grace Moretz did an amazing job as Carrie. I give it a 9 out of 10!!

Did someone cut your humanity out of your chest or something?

The Place beyond the pines - 7/10 - Better than I thought it'd be.

I was surprised to see Gosling killed off so earlier and I thought the movie lost a little of its footing here but it was entertaining enough.

Argo - 8.5/10 - Great movie as expected.

Room 237 - 6/10 I was looking forward to this quite a bit considering me and a friend have always enjoyed finding and discussing all of the subliminal messages in the shining and whilst some of this documentary was interesting many of the people were grasping for straws with some of their theories. The woman talking in particular was talking crap imo. :monkey1

I'm glad I watched it but I've seen better analysis videos on youtube.
