Why? It's quite a tribute and that they did it like the Touch of Evil opening shot is also very cool and cineste-y.

why ?. They are simply remembering what he did and how he created such an atmosphere. It's not like they have remade the movie. I have to be honest , if the camera was a little more grainy and no one told me what it was I could of fell for it being lost footage or something. Its amazing how perfect it is.
