How do update the main title??

I've got some items listed in teh For Sale thread, and I've updated the post title, but the main title in the For Sale section still shows the original title. How can I update that??

Does that make sense? :D

Editing the thread title can only be done by a mod.

Is there anyway to change that? Usually asking one of you to do it is more trouble than its worth. Not that you guys won't do it, it is just inconvienent to have to do.

I know what you're saying Buttmunch, and a while ago, I thought the same thing; but imagine how pissed off you'd be after clicking on a "fresh" title, just to realize that it's yesterday's thread with a edited title... I think it's better the way it is, even if it's annoying for those who tend to make typo's from time to time (or content related mistakes).

I think it would at least be very useful in the WTB/FS threads. We could each get one of each thread and just update the title to our newest wants.

And yes I can see some of the idiots editing thread titles just to screw with people, but I think it would be more beneficial than harmful.

Just want to clarify, the mods mentioned can change the Title in the commerce section as I assumed thats what we were talking about. Other sections of the forum are covered by other mods as well as Dave, Lonnie and Tom.

If you want to find out who mods which section, when you go into it, scroll down to the bottom of the page, past all the threads and in the bottom right hand corner will tell you who covers that area. :duff

I'd like to bring this up again. I'm part of another board that allows users to freely update the title of their thread. As a result, everyone gets ONE sale/trade thread that can just be updated when needed. I think this would be a great benefit here since I posted a thread wanting help with one item, but then had to make another thread for a seperate item so it would get noticed too. Also, if I want to add or take away items I have for sale, I have to have Adoptedscot update the thread title for me (thanks again, I just feel bad making you do more work).

I know the argument against is is that some people would abuse this power and change the thread title of a discussion thread, but I think the majority of us would use this power appropriately.

So, please give this another look. Thanks. :D
