Thought I might as well start a new thread (I have previously posted these images on the original Wicket thread). Collected mine yesterday, disappointed that its a little too small for 1/6th scale.

My apologies for the quality of the images, I took them with my mobile phone.

How tall should Wicket be? I'd assume that Medi would at least make him in scale with Yoda, but I also would have thought he'd be much taller than Yoda.

Using R2-D2 since he has appeared with Yoda, Wicket, and Jawas here's some pics to show everyone that Yoda is in fact taller then Wicket but not by much. Even though Starwars.com says the actual height I tend to go off what was actually seen in the movie. Here's a link to the Yoda pic since the file was to large http://devan1.tripod.com/Pics/YodaR2.jpg , same thing with the Jawa pic http://www.gwiezdne-wojny.pl/grafika/2004/sie/snap003_jawa.jpg , and the Wicket pic is below. The height should go from tallest to shortest Jawa, Yoda, Wicket.

You can want it to be as accurate to what is on screen as possible, but you can bet the suits at LFL don't care. They usually go by what is "officially" listed. They also like idealized depictions of their characters (coughPFVadercough).

I don't really think it makes sense to use a screenshot of Yoda to show height, since Yoda was obviously a puppet and was being held up by Frank Oz, who was standing under the cut-off floor of the set. His height wasn't a constant.

Well then if you want them more accurate I guess you won't be happy until you have Frank Oz with his hand up Yoda's ass. Is anyone on this board ever happy with a purchase? :rotfl

First of all, I didn't buy it and don't plan to. Secondly, I'm not quibbling about accuracy -- just the opposite. I just want it to look decent posed with other figures -- not like something from another toy line entirely.

Well, according to SW database Wicket IS taller than Yoda:

Well, Yoda is supposed to be 0.66 meter (25 inhes) tall and according to SW database
Wicket should be about 0.8 meter (about 32 inches) so, yep, he's definitely too short

Wicket just arrived, amazing figure and detail. I was a little skeptical, but after seeing a couple of pic I was sold. Now that it's here, I can tell you this figurine is amazing and I'm sure it will look great along the rest of my SS/Medi SW collection.

OK so while I wait for Han to arrive,
I decided to post a few Wicket pics.

I wasn't going to get this but after seeing the first pics, I ordered him with rewards points, so I paid only about $20.00 plus shipping.
Amazing detail, I've been adamant on getting Chewie with real fur, but after seeing this guy, I wouldn't mind sculpted hair. Bring it on Medi!!

Enjoy:

The reason I promote sculpted hair is evident with Wicket here; sculpted allows you to match the style of hair for the character, Chewie has a distinct look to his fur and I just don't see faux fur capturing that. Use HT's trick of rubber over elbo joints and such and you could have a reasonably articulated Chewie with sculpted fur.

I'm not sure, it's one of the best elements of the figure though, it looks really nice. I can't remember if Wicket's supposed to be fabric or leather. But this kind of gives you a leather-like feel to it. Reminds me of these fabric used to wash cars, that's a little rubbery, can't remember it's name though.

But it folds nicely and wraps around the head great. I think something like this would work perfect with Tusken Raiders.

No problem. I believe his head gear is supposed to be an animal skin.

No pictures as yet but my thoughts? He's a keeper. He may be a bit small but he looks like a good representation of the lil Ewok. The legs should probably be a bit thicker and I am NOT happy about the glued down headdress but overall its a nice VCD that will look good with my SS crew.

Ya, the headdress being glue was a WTF moment for me, articulate the head but lock it down with his head gear glue to him :banghead

Question, should the legs articulate on him, it looks that way but mine won't budge with easy turning, if they should I try some measures to get them moving.

Mine wont move either and Im not gonna risk it. I did rip the headdress from it's glued down position. It left some residue that Im gonna clean off sometime later. Overall Wicket is only 1cm shorter than he should be which really isn't that big a deal. He's gonna be kept and once you free the headdress he is a great figure.

Even with the glue, I like him. They really did a great job on the face, really captures him, the fur is really nice. It's not the most "action" figure, but that's forgivable when it looks so nice, like Jabba and Crumb, they can't do anything, but they both represent very well and look fantastic. Hopefully an Endor Leia comes along to join him.

I feel its quite the opposite. The Hasbro R2 ought to be even bigger for 1/6 scale, this is obvious when he stands next to a 12" figure.

It photographs really well, but I'm just disappointed that it's so small. I'm sure Wicket (or Ewoks at that) aren't a top priority for Sideshow so this would have been a nice filler piece. Medicom may have really dropped the ball on cashing in on that fact.

Ewoks might not be top priority for SSC, but I do hope to see SSC doing sculpts for a complete figure rather than just the head for standard a 12" figure. Obviously this would means more work, considering articulations needed for the figure.

It captures him very well though, while the figure itself seems overpriced at retail for sure, the accurracy of his overall look is worth it, my only real issue with him is scale to other figures, other than that, I'm very happy with it representing Wicket in my collection.

MaulFan
11-17-2009, 08:49 AM
I'd like a solo PF Wicket, but I have a huch if Ewoks are done in PF, it'll be a group or it'll be like Luke and Yoda with an Endor Leia and Wicket together or something of that sort. I'd say PF, dio or something life size, but I don't think we're close to a 1/6 unless it's roto like the Gamorrean Guard.

galactiboy
