If you will be attending the San Diego Comic-Con this year you are invited to the 5th annual Freakathon party. It will be the Friday night of the con, July 25th. If you will be at the con and will DEFINITELY attend the party please RSVP to dstephan@sideshowcollectors.comwith "SDCC 08" in the subject line.
In that email please include your board name, real name and if you are or are not bringing one guest.

Information such as time, place, etc. will be revealed to attendees the week before the Con.

Since the board has grown so much in the past year I'm going to impose a deadline - to attend the party you must have been a member since at least June 23, 2008. We will evaluate the list closer to the date and will decide at that time if newbies can also come.

I don't have to do a hard sell on the party, but it's fun - prizes, food, drink, celebrity guests and THE MAN WITH NO PANTS! (disclaimer: Man with no pants may or may not be wearing pants.)

I think it depends on the airport. HIA is smaller and therefore has less flights going out. So I think that factors into it.

The exclusives are what to buy. Most anything else that the vendors are selling you can get cheaper online. However on Sunday they start pricing stuff down so they don't have to schlepp it home and you can get some bargains.

And if you're looking for vintage comics, I'm sure there are some of those vendors there - I've just never noticed them.

I am actually amazed I went back after the first time. It was a major Nerd overload. I didn't collect anything I just needed a vacation.
