Hey everyone. I've stumbled upon some custom accesories for Indy on ebay. Just wondering if anyone here makes some. The grail diaries I've seen look amazing.

Here is the site I stumbled upon. Does anyone know if these are still available?

Yeah, he still makes them and puts them up on eBay occasionally. I got a set about a month ago.

That is BEAUTIFUL! From my favorite movie too! All I would need is the grail and I'd have my Indy--uh, well, my GRAIL, darn it! I must get one; that's one of the coolest 1:6 customs I've ever seen!

His 1/6 RAIDERS notebook and map set is quite cool as well.

That's cool! Raiders has never really interested me though; it's all about the Crusade for me! I must get that diary!

It's not bad but parts aren't terribly accurate.

I've got a full sized prop diary that I absolutely love and have thought about scanning and making into a 1/6 version.

Hey Irish, do you have a contact name to share. I tried emailing him from his site but no response.

I started Making a 1:6th spear of destiny...

Is that relic from the new movie or is it from one of the previous ones?

Well.... technically, it's from Hellboy/Constantine. But there was a book, or something where Indy went after the spear.
Besides, it seems like his sort of artifact ;)
Specifically, this version

The Spear of Destiny is an actual historically-based artifact. Supposedly, it includes a piece of the actual spear that pierced the side of Christ during the crucifixion and changes the "destiny" of whoever possesses it. Incidentally, it is one of the religious relics that the Nazis actually went after. It's also sometimes known as "The Holy Lance".

There are books and documentaries on the subject. I have this one, which is pretty good:

Here's a synopsis:

For 2,000 years, since it pierced the side of Christ, the Spear of Destiny has been invested with amazing occult powers.

This book records the legend and its continuing fulfillment in the decline of the Roman Empire, the Dark Ages, and the 20th century. It tells the story of the chain of men who possessed the Spear, from Herod the Great to Adolf Hitler, and how they sought to change the face of history by wielding its occult powers for good or evil.

The Spear of Destiny is identified as the Spear of the Holy Grail mentioned in the sagas of the Dark Ages and shows the Grail to be a uniquely Western path to mind expansion-as applicable today as it was at the courts of King Arthur and Charlemagne. The final chapters of this book describe a Manichean battle of worlds behind the changing scene of the 20th century. And for the first time the Satanic occult development and faculties of Adolf Hitler are described in authentic and documented detail, showing how he furthered his aims and his conquest of the world by black magic practices.

The purported actual Spear of Destiny currently resides in a museum in Vienna, Austria:

mm...... someone didn't click my link ;)

its cool though. I know that the spear was historically sought and captured (in the version I'm making) by Hitler.
But like Wikipedia says, there are several spears claiming to be THE spear. I liked this version and my response was in reference to what I was asked about wether it was from the new movie.

sorry, I dont mean to be snarky, had a looong day and like 2 hours sleep.
I took off work early at 4:00 (after they screwed up my pay-check) and didnt get home (cause my wife wanted to go shopping for her crap) until 9:00 pm

No worries. I didn't sense any "snark" at all. Keep up posted on your 1:6 spear. :duff

I need to add the nail (nails?) to the cutout in the middle of the spear and the wires holding them in place.
Once that's done, I'll paint the gold band, well, gold :P and I'll shoot some pics with my Hasbro Indy.

I started making a Jacket for Mutt earlier but my wife is having problems with installing a game and she wanted me over here instead.

What did you use as the base jacket for Mutt? I'm looking for one myself.

d_jedi1

Well, I WAS going to use my GIJoe Bomber Jacket, but as with my old Darth Vader, the "leather" is peeling away.
I have some leftover fake leather from when I made my Anakin Skywalker costume for Episode 3. I used the Joe Jacket as a pattern to base the pieces for the Mutt Jacket on.
The back of the Jacket is (more or less) done and one side is also. I need to finish the other side and then I will get started on the sleeves. I will probably add or BS some kind of Pockets, but I'm undecided for now... I need to see more pics of his jacket from the film.

Here is the jacket before I added the second sleeve.

Mutt decided to drink a Schlitz while I was finishing it. Here, he is holding the (unfinished) spear of destiny.

A better look at the spear and a grail diary that I started on.

I made a bag for Indy (I'll probably make another one or re-sew the front edge)... Here he and Mutt stand together

So far I've ordered the grail diary, bought the GG crate paperweight (with a Crystal Skull) and filled it with the idol, diamond, staff of Ra headpiece, Grail tablet, Nurhachi and chalice of Kali relics from the 3 3/4" line. SSC will have a better idol and sandbag and the Medicom Indy will have the grail and Sankara stone. That should be enough.

SSC will also make superior Sankara Stones, Grail Diary, etc eventually. :lecture

I really hope SSC will do an accessories pack that would include the ark and many other artifacts from the films. Since the idol isn't the exclusive it could also be included with the set.

I got my custom 1:6th Grail Diary and Raiders Journals today. These are flipping sweet. Amazing detail for stuff so small.

A superior Grail Diary to the one that people have been ordering from Daryl Williams (I presume that's the one doesitmatter was talking about)?? I highly doubt it. From what I've seen and heard it would be almost impossible to get better than that.

I know Sideshow make some good products, but they don't always hit a home run. As for Sankara stones, they'll probably sculpt superior ones and then paint the sculpt beyond recognition (if 12" Indy is anything to go by...)
