What purpose the Gallery.

Okay, I thought I read somewhere to use the gallery. So I thought I would give it a try. It looks very busy and confusing. I worked out how to upload images, no problem, but I thought we were able to use it to display pictures in posts, rather than use photo bucket or similar. Can we do that, and how do we do that?

My Guess you upload your picture to the gallery, then once it is up there and you see it displayed on a page you can right-click->properties, copy the URL the picture is source from. Then create a post click on the "Insert IMAGE" icon and in the pop up window you paste the url you just copied before.


for example to display this image (which I picked at random from gallery) I right click the image got the url which is "http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/gallery/data/500/thumbs/back_to_the_future.jpg" and put that url in the "Insert Image" pop up window and get this:

http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/gallery/data/500/thumbs/back_to_the_future.jpg

I noticed the above was just the thumbnail,

If you want the full picture just click the thumbnail to get full pick in the gallery, then copy and past that URL from properties window:

got this "http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=398&size=1"


which input in the image insert thing comes out as :

http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=398&size=1

I've never seen one of my images in the "Featured Photos" on the front page, I don't need to see my photos there, but I'm just wondering if others are seeing them via that feature. I see photos by the same 3 or 4 posters all the time, often its the same photo. Just wondering if I need to do something special to have my photos appear to others on that feature.

The more photos you post in the gallery, the greater the odds are that they will be randomly chosen to appear on the front page.

I would guess thats true, except I see the same pictures by other people ALL THE TIME.

It's supposed to be random, but the more pics and longer one has been up the more it's going to be repeated.
