I know Screamingmetal will be thrilled to see this one:

Finally! Perhaps not so extraordinary for me since I have the long soldout DML Sergeant Jones, but it is very nice to finally see this available again, and probably a well improved version too :)
The addition of the meal backs and Zulu shield are very nice.

More images on modellersloft.

It's a horrible thing, whenever I think I'll take a break from this hobby someone draws me back in...

Man, DiD makes some fantastic stuff... surprising you don't hear more about them. I guess since they are mostly military we don't get a lot of traffic here.

That really brought a smile to my face Doomhammer. :D
The Sean Connery head will be missed, but I wouldn't have changed the head sculpt out anyways, so this is more then welcome! Besides, Michael Caine is a good substitute, it's straight from the move Zulu!!!
And a Zulu shield to boot! Hope they make a Zulu warrior next.
I'm sure to save up for this one!
:banana :banana :banana :banana :banana

Another mouth watering, must-have figure from DiD. I have two of the Dragon figures and I've been saving all of my Tuskegee Airmen and black close-out US sailors to make a Zulu Impi. Going for Isandalwana myself (anybody know of a Bob Hoskins headsculpt?).

Rabbit

I think this figure is done exceptionally well and will surely be adding it to my collection. Can Zulu warriors be next? Was Cotswold the only company that ever made Zulu warriors?

Getting this guy next week woooo :naughty. Ive seen some decent looking 1/6 zulu warriors on the market but i dont think DID will make one.

Does anyone know if he'll be carried by any U.S. vendors? Otherwise I may have to order him from Blighty, also.

Rabbit

Wow, I didn't know this one was coming so soon!
Rabbit, I looked around and didn't find anyone in the US carrying this set. I'll send an email to see if a GSTG will be getting this.

Screamingmetal, I've e-mail'd Modeler's Loft in England about prices for shipping to the States. I'll let you know.

Rabbit,
Fur and Foot Fighters

I received an answer to my shipping query to Modeller's Loft today.

Me:

"To whom it may concern,

I am interested in purchasing one of your DiD Pvt Williams, 24th Regt of Foot, without sandbags figures. My address is:

Concord, California 94518

Could you please give me a quote as to shipping on this figure from England to the States? Thank you."

Their answer:

"Hello

Thanks for your message, shipping for your order to the US will cost £16 GB pounds

Kind Regards ML"

So shipping, in other words, will be $31.60 plus $63.19 for the figure. Yikes!!

Rabbit

Thanks for the info Rabbit, $31 is quite expensive.

I got a response from Good Stuff To Go, they said that they "contacted the DID distributor here in the US to see if they'll be getting any, and the
answer was "right now no"."
But they did tell me that they noticed that Timewalker Toys.com did have them available for preorder but was unsure how they're going to get any since the distributer said no.
Here's their website:
https://www.timewalkertoys.com/

I sent Timewalker Toys an email asking about the availability of the figure, I'll let you know what I hear back.

Ok. I'm weak. I paid me money to Modeller's Loft for the little darlin'. Bloody bootchas, but I just had to have one!!

Thanks, Slimeyslug, for the recomendations.

Rabbit

I got a response from Timewalker Toys:
We recently posted a clarification on our website regarding the status
of this figure. Here is a copy of the clarification:

"NOTICE: A Clarification of TBA Status- To Be Announced (TBA) means
that we have not yet received an official sell sheet with pricing and
arrival information from our distributor. It also means that until we
receive this information from our distributor, this item is
technically being offered in an unofficial capacity. While the US
Distributor strongly believes that they will receive an allotment for
distribution in the United States, like the Napoleonic Series, this
item is a Modeller's Loft Exclusive. As such, allocation to the
United States is solely at Modeller's Loft's discretion. Anyone
uncomfortable with the TBA preorder status on this item should
probably order directly from Modeller’s Loft in England."

Again to reiterate, we have been told by the US Distributor
that they are nearly 100% certain that they are receiving an allotment
for distribution in the U.S. They cannot, at this stage of the game,
give us 100% certainty until they receive their official documentation
from Modeller's Loft. The fact that this item is a Modeller's Loft
Exclusive has not deterred other exclusives from being distributed in
the U.S. The Napoleonic line is also a Modeller's Loft Exclusive, but
each of those items have seem fairly common release in the States.
Our distributor believes that the Rorke's Drift figure will follow
this same pattern of release. If the status of this item changes in
any way, it will immediately be posted on our website, and for those
who have placed preorders already, they will be immediately notified.

Thank you for your inquiry.

So it's still a possibility these will be available in the future, but right now they can't confirm.
Looks like Modeller's Loft is the only place for the time being.
