In the few years I've been surfing various military boards I seem to have gathered a fairly large archive of customs and kitbashes that I liked, and I was wondering which ones you guys remember.

My first pick would not be a kitbash but pretty much built from scratch by the great master Tony Barton:

Dutch Sergeant , Great Siege of Ostend ,1601

I've come across lots of great figures I could at least try recreate, but this one is definitely way too much.

Read it all here .

I showed you mine, now show me yours!

And perhaps not my alltime favourite but certainly appropriate this weekend:

Come on guys, am I the only one who's hooked to custom soldiers?

Next up, the best Vietnam figure I've ever seen, Vandalus' USMC Vietnam, 1965:

This Private Ryan is one of my favorites.

Also one of my favorites by the same artist. Black Hawk Down McKnight.

Wow! those are great! Love the McKnight.

I'm currently working on the following from Black Hawk Down:

Master Sgt. Gary Gordon
SFC. Randy Shughart
Hoot

Jarhead:

Anthony Swofford

I would be pretty much done with them if it wasn't an absolute pain in the ass to try to piece together Hot Toys bodies.:banghead

Very cool. The Black Hawk Down charactors seem like they would be pretty easy to source materials for uniforms. I just got the Danny McKnight Dragon figure to make the Sizemore McKnight. Going to use the RPT head. Also have the Private Ryan Damon figure in the works as well. Trying to source parts for that right now. Matsu@be is definately inspiring with his great customs. He has such a cool style and technique.

I'd love to know more about his techniques, his weathering is so friggin dirty!

Today I came across a custom figure that will probably be my all time favourite for a long long long time.
Vettius64 (Luca) has done some amazing things in the past but this one is just... wow:

Wow this figure really rocks! He reminds me of the Explorers in the game Age of Empires, Very cool looking figure!

Now these customs, are they glued up? I see alot of them have wrists that have been puttied over to hide the joints and such, but will the modeler totally glue up the whole figure to hold the pose? I am originally a figure painter (54mm and such) so I'm curious to see how similarly this medium is treated. Thanks
