View Full Version : New GBTv01 collection - world of PF

Well I finally did it, if you may remember that I used to have a 1/6th collection (http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17228) that I displayed with each movie poster...well...that collection is entirely sold off so I could move into the world of PF.

And am I glad I did, these pieces are from my some of fav movies of all time, I do not collect 'all' pieces from a series for example Star Wars, so I am not a 'completest', I pick one PF for each of my fav movies and go from there.

We have just moved into a new built house and I am currently working on the home theatre room downstairs where these PFs shall be placed with a corresponding poster (27 inches by 40 inches) in glass frames. The pedestals are made and just need to painted a matte black. For now they are displayed in my office till the theatre room is complete which I say will be August due to me getting married in June (funds are going towards that:D.)

Anyhow, enough chit chat and let me show the pics of PFs (Aragorn is pre ordered and Indy PF shall be added as well when released).

little black block that came on the foot pins I had autographed by Tim Curry :rock and shall be attaching to front of the pedestal.

If I could get at least retail for all of my figures I'd do it in a second but in reality selling on the secondary market some will sell and some will just sit there and I'll have a group of unwanted secondary tier figs. :lol

You're right - the PF line is probably the nicest line to collect - and the most expensive. But there're very good pieces!!!

Can't wait to see the compeleted set-up gbtv01 :)!, I hope to have the space to dedicate to a collecting room as well one day.

Excellent looking collection. I've often considered selling off my 1/6 collection completely and moving solely into PFs.

I'm pretty much at this point as well, I picked up 4 PF's already and a couple more 'must have' PF's are left but I now get more excited with the statues than the 1/6 scale figures. I think the only other 1/6 scale figure I really want and will buy now is a Vader, even that one I'm not as excited for as I was before getting into PF's.

Superb PF collection, I would love a smaller version of those pedestals you've got yourself, they're a nice finishing touch. By smaller I mean the same width but only about 15-17" in height. You got any advice on where to find that kind of thing?, I'm not handy with D.I.Y.

I bought the MDF board myself and just cut it to the desired measurements and then used steel angle brakets inside the cube so you could not see any screws...I can take pics if you like and post a diagram on how to make them if you like.

Well you've done a great job man, good old MDF eh it comes in handy. I might get back to you mate, I bought three red tin cubes for my three favourite PF's to sit on and I'm fairly happy with them right now, my mind changes like the British weather though so I'll post you a message if the MDF tickles my fancy. Cheers for the offer man.

PF = Premium Format = mixed-media statue (i.e. a little more than just polystone) Cloth, leather, metal, etc.

I can't find the link that defines it, but that's it in a nutshell.

Actually, I would have been updating more but due to me having health issues with my MS I had other things to worry about...

But since I have finally gotten better I have finally finished the home theatre room, now all I have to do is paint the pedestals black, lol.

Here is a quick update, shall update again next week hopeful will have the pedestals painted by then.

The theatre room is 13.5 feet by 24 feet, Optoam HD65 1080p projector, Denon AVR789 HD reciever, Polk Audio Speakers.

Size of Projected Screen is 122 inches!

Got to create a stand for my dog alien and new theatre Modular seating is on the way, the grandma couch is only temp...lol:o

It's so funny...I was following your progress & didn't realize you were in St. John's. I just recently transfered from there...lived there for about 4 years - miss Studio 12:(

I just got back from Kent they have nothing in storage pedestals. It's a smaller Kent store & probably have limited stock than the bigger stores. I will be starting my own thread soon....so i'll keep ya posted.

I can get you the SKU # from the box for the pedestals if you like; you may be able to order them from Kent, I am sure they would bring them in for you.

Yeah, I missed Studio 12 while I was out that way as well, how is the theatre out there these days, still hit and miss?
