The story can be found here. (http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2008-03-10-monsters-aliens_N.htm)

I'm definitely going to check this one out. I might wait until the DVD release but who knows. Either way, I plan on seeing it. The initial trailer on the Kung Fu Panda DVD had me laughing through the whole thing, so I think this looks like another promising release for Dreamworks......yet again.

I'll check it out on DVD. The only movies i've liked from Dreamworks was the Shrek series. Even though each one of those seems to get worse as it goes.

Ehhh....its cool.

Also, having no budget isnt a good excuse if it sucks. With no budget, you get to be more creative...but still, I want to know why its bad. Cause if someone just tells me it sucks, I dont know what to fix in the future. Ya dig?

Does look good.

I think the Super-Bowl spot would have been better in the standard 2-D.

At least for me the 3-D didn't really work well. I know the final product in theatres will have better 3-D, though.

I just saw this last night at a Free advanced Screening...
my opinion: Don't waste your money...

This movie is terrible...
good CGI and some funny moments, but at times I just wanted to punch the writers in the face for this "by-thebook-kiddie-predictable" movie...
Just to give you an idea, this is Shrek the 3rd/Shark Tale bad...
seriously...
Dreamworks needs to really step-up...
Seems like only Shrek 1 and 2 and Kung Fu Panda are good movies for them...
Ughhh!!!
I hated Whitespoon's character...
a few laughs and that's it...

Such a wasted opportunity...

I don't get why people say, 'Don't waste your money', let them go see it and make up there own mind. Is it gonna make you feel better if they don't go? Just give your opinion and move on. I'm not gonna go by what one person says, I think the trailers look great and I will be seeing this regardless of what anyone says.

Nobody is getting upset, if I was upset you'd know it. ;) I just don't see the need to say that, give your opinion or review the movie, but to tell others not to go or waste their money is unnecessary IMO.

I felt I'd share my opinion with my fellow Freaks since I got the chance to see it before it hits theaters!
Sorry if it bothers you man!! It's wasn't my intention to make you feel my comments are unnecessary...
The people that want to see it will see it regardless of my opinion...

Didn't mean to make you feel like I was lashing out on you, sorry about that. I guess I'm just tired of people going to see a movie and saying not to see it or that 'It's Terrible'. Same with collectibles when people just pop into a thread and say 'Pass'. It's too bad you didn't enjoy the movie though, everyone has different tastes and it wasn't for you. I for one am really looking forward to it.

Was gonna see it tonight, but all 3D showings sold out pretty early today. Me and my son will be there at 11:30 tomorrow morning.

I kinda have high hopes since the premise is so awesome, but I have to lower those expectations because it's Dreamworks.

I saw this earlier today, and thought it was great! The 3D was excellent... but really the film was great even w/o the extra ooh, ahh factor.

It did get a little slow near the end, but overall an excellent flick. Lot of kids in the theater and I think they were all too mesmerized to make much sound :lol

Not to mention, there was a 3D trailer for Ice-Age 3 and Up that alone were probably worth the price of admission.

Saw this with my 4 year old son and he loved it and I thought it was a good popcorn flick. The SFX were awesome in 3D and the film did have many moments that made me laugh. I didn't think it was terrible or "don't waste your money" bad.

Darklord Dave

It wasn't bad. They're obviously going for the Pixar emotional/funny combo, but haven't really achieved it yet. And it was kind of slow and dealt with the Reese Witherspoon character a bit too much. But where I saw it, it looked fantastic, I forgot I was watching 3D after awhile, although there are some cool effects.

And they're trying to replicate the look. I really thought it was a Pixar movie just by seeing some images.

Can't beat them, copy them. :p
